This message board does not have a chat room.  There are a number of good reasons why not.

Aimoo charges for blocks of 'page views', and a chat room would significantly add to the page view count and therefore the cost.

We are bound by Aimoo's terms of service that require we keep the board more or less PG rated.  Because this board is about thongs and to some people thongs are very sexual it is hard enough to keep the regular messages  both on track and not evolving into somebodies sexual fantasizes.  I just don't have the resources to monitor and moderate a chat room too.  Moderating this board is an unpaid part time job.  We just don't have the resources to moderate a chat room.

There are plenty of places on the web where people have chat rooms and IM exchanges, this board does not need to be one of them.  We are looking for content about thongs that is thoughtful, considered, useful and encouraging.  By allowing people the time to think and compose a reply to the subject we probably get a better quality of response than an off the cuff IM or chat season would produce.

Because their answer is going to contribute to the ongoing thread on that subject, that will be available for all to see in the future, people are less likely to be as judgmental or rude as they may be in a throw away chat season.

One of the points of this board is to capture a useful history of information, for example information on thong friendly beaches.  You can search for a beach and often find a repository of messages that often dates back five or six years.
If it was asked and answered in a chat season the interesting question and the useful answer would be discarded by next day, lost to history, instead of being preserved so that other people could read it.

Imagine how you would fell if one day you loged into the internet and found the Thong Wearers Message Board was missing?  You would feel a loss:  You would fell someone had stolen the large store of information and support you had become accustom too.
The only reason that the large store of information in the board exists is Because it is in the form of messages and replies that are preserved, and not lost in discarded chat sessions.

If you need to talk one on one, then go to the beach in a thong and meet people in real life.  This will do more to boost your confidence than any amount of online chat.

Last, Because we do not have a chat room we are not often targets of the police pretending to be children.  There are many police officers who’s full time job is to attempt to entrap the unweary into face to face meetings with someone they think is underage.  A google search for (chat room  "posing as" arrested) turned up 27,400 hits and 20% of those included the word thong.   If we had a 'thong chat room' it would be mostly populated by police officers asking stupid questions while pretending to be underage teenagers.
