That's cool.... I'm sure we all are ... and wish it was a little more mainstream. Not everyone looks good in a thong but that can be said about bikinis, boxers, dork shorts or hip hugger pants with short tops so the tummy shows.. I think it's kinda funny that swim suits and shorts for women continue to get smaller with more exposed while suits for guys get longer and more baggy. I keep hoping the trend will reverse one of these days.

Good deal SolarG. It amazes me that all these people on here spew how they are thonging in public all the time, getting the thumbs up and positive comments from everyone, but they can't seem to post pics on thier profiles. Makes one think about the validity of what they say if they can't even post a pic on a board of a common interest.

The photo in my avatar is not of me in a thong, but something else I felt at the time would be cute and related. but I did put photos in my profile, as I agree with the sentiments.

My avitar shows my FACE. If you click on my profile you should see me nude from the front. I think most butts look alike. I understand why many of the folks here DON'T show their faces. But, I think it's a shame.

Since I've been called "buttface" on more than one occasion, I figured my butt is appropriate as an avatar!!!
Sorry, I will not post a picture of my face (the one above the shoulders), but yesterday I did post a full body shot of me in a thong on a beach. This is in response to a friends comment about only a few members show photos of themselves in thongs on a beach. So I thank him for the encouragement!

I go to the beach to run and swim, not to take pictures of my bottom. Thonging for me is a personal freedom and not an exhibitionist outlet, so I don't need to take pictures of my bum for posting on the internet. Over the years the tourists have taken care of that. There are a few pictures of me that have made their way on to the web: They show me running on the beach, showering or getting a cup of coffee at the coffee shop.
I am not of the myspace generation who seem to think it important to post narcissist pictures of themselves taken at arms length or as viewed in the bathroom mirror. I also admit to being of an older generation so my good cameras are film and not digital.
I don't need to post a picture of my bottom to know I have one and that I thong publicly. Over the years the board members I have met on the beach, along with pictures taken by tourists that board members have found on the web, prove in a real way what I am regularly out there on the beach in a thong.

Geeze, JM - your post to me makes you sound high and mighty and that you see yourself better than everyone else here. And maybe you are but I tell ya buddy, you could of gone all day long without that post. I don't say much here but I just had to roll my eyes with this one and we see some pretty entertaining stuff. So you don't want to show your tush - okay, fine and dandy - nuff said without the lecture and sermon and trying to make others feel small. Whether you intended to or not you sort of rained on the parade of a few people here. Folks if you want to post your pictures - tush, foot or face - go for it... I love to see them. Geeze.

You know what? I didn't find JM's post high and mighty at all. In fact, I thought he was quite correct in taking umbrage at OTHERS telling the rest of us just what our avatars were supposed to look like. Now, telling the rest of us what we have to do, that I find high and mighty.
I won't tell you what you have to have as your avatar if you won't insist on what my avatar should look like.

What is a thong but a bikini with the backside cut away for the sole purpose of exposing the butt. No matter how you look at it, there is a bit of exhibitionist attitude in all of us who thong, some to more degree than others. While I do it to feel the warm sun on my butt, I still understand that my butt is exposed and some may find it unacceptable, so I limited my thonging to places where thongs are more acceptable and commonplace and I will have company. So that pretty much is certain beaches, not public streets or coffee shops.
So I choose a butt shot as my avatar, and I think it is a perfect avatar for a THONG message board.

I really do resent somebody who doesn't know me telling me about the way I supposedly am. Most of the time I wear a thong I am hiking in the woods, and rarely, rarely meet somebody else. And you tell me I have an exhibitionist streak? Please. How hard is it to understand that some people are different, and not to project your own particular feelings on others, and insist that they are the only way?
By the way, I really kind of like my avatar. And kudos to anybody who figures out why I use it as my avatar.

suggested as well. I only meant in my post if you want to do it fine,
if you don't, don't. I don't think anyone should feel compelled to join
the 'tush avitar' club but shouldn't be put down if they do. People wear thongs and go to nude beaches for all sorts of reasons. No one can assume they know what makes everyone else tick. However you can't be too thin skinned ... we all know with 'email' it's easy to convey the wrong 'voice' in a message.
By the way Max, my guess is you're an Iowa corn farmer - hence the Indians and maze avitar.

And, yeah, email (and board postings) can be tricky.

This morning, I was considering change my avatar to a "tush pose." I went through my personal collection of pictures, but with a 60 year old tush, the tush pictures were rather scary. I'll stay with my thong front avatar but I plan to change it when I get a less scary rear view. By the way, there are some tush pictures in the image section of my profile.
