Hi JM

I know this would be a tremendous problem to do at this time, but why not instead of posting reports by oceans and inland, do it by states and provinces?  Most people know what state(s) or province(s) they are interested in reading about is. Vermont may be a great place, but to someone in Southern California, it might as well be on the moon.  Likewise, places like Walden's Pond in New Hampshire might be overlooked by someone visiting the new england coast, even though it is only a few miles away.  There also is confussion about the great lakes -- are they inland or international waters?

Even if you didn't move the existing reports, why not close them to New Topics and let people add only to New Topics only in newly created State and Provincial groups?

I do try to get people to title the threads something like this   "Bowling Beach, near Brighton, NY" or something similar.

Maybe, if I can figure out the location of each beach named I can go back in and change titles so people get better results when searching by state.

Though not this month, got far to much legal work to do.

Hmm...JM, I was wondering...do the IP codes mean anything? For instance, the first two numbers in the code referring to state location? If they do mean something that might help people at least figure out where a poster is from.

No IP numbers show who the provider is, AT&T or Comcast, etc.

Please cutback on starting new threads and try to post messages as a reply to existing threads.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
First paste it into notepad or other basic ascii editor so that the formatting codes are removed, then cut again. This will give you clean posts.
