Hi,

Some of the threads are so large that it takes a while for a post to load.  Most readers (except the new ones probably) are mostly only interested in the most recent post(s).

Could the form posts be displayed in reverse order, just like blog posts are, so the most recent post is at the top of the page, and the first one you see when a thread loads?

This way you would not have to wait for the entire page to load and then scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page to read whats new?

Most likely this is only a System Setting option preference by the service provider.

We have considered that, but because most replies are to the questions and discussion posted above, it makes sense for people to read the orignal posts first.  We have enough problem with people getting threads of course without them starting with the last message and jumping off from there.

The difference between a blog and a message board is that on a blog, the author knows what they have already written, and postings are not directly related to the prior post.  On a message board the thread starts with a specific subject or question and the replies stem from the initial posting at the top of the thread topic.  Replies are directly related to what people in that thread have said.

It just makes the whole board more readable to have threads starting with the first post and working down.

That said, there are ways you can find or jump to the most recent posts:
->  We have the "Today" menu option that shows the posts over the last couple of days.
->  Threads with new replies are listed first in each major category and at the right hand side it shows you the date and the author of the last post in that thread.
->  Last, you can subscribe to a thread and get notified of any new posts by email.

Hope this helps you find your way around.  JM

Please cutback on starting new threads and try to post messages as a reply to existing threads.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
First paste it into notepad or other basic ascii editor so that the formatting codes are removed, then cut again. This will give you clean posts.
