For most websites you have to sign in when your authenticated session has expired. A bank may expire your session after only 15 minutes of inactivity, but other websites may take a day or two. Your computer browser has some part in this. If you have the cookie from your earlier session you may get re-authenticated automatically but if the cookie is deleted you may have to log in again, even on the same day. If you are on a dial up or dynamic IP address that changes from one session to the next then you will proababy have to log in again each time the IP address changes. You may also be caching passwords in your browser and it may be signing on to the site automatically, or not, depending on your browser and your password cache options.
A few months ago I found I had to sign in to this site if I had not been on in the last 24 hours. Recently I have been asked to login less frequently. It may be becuase I have my browser set to cache and auto-fill credentials for Aimoo.com OR it may be that I have been on my computer a lot and becuase I check the page at least once a day, the authenticated session gets refreshed and does not time out.. I don't think you can adjust anything at your end to change the timeout of the authenticated session, but returning to Aimoo.com once a day will probably extend the session, day by day.
So, as you can tell, I don't really know the answer to your question, I only know what has been working for me.
