Tend to avoid south of whites in Torquay, west Barwon heads, the playground side and ocean grove. Too many families with kids and prudish over protective parents.

I can't find a thread called 'Thonging in Australia'. thonger_in_oz, thanks for the advice, I think I'll check out 13th Beach, if it's not too quiet and maybe some of the beaches between there and Point Impossible. If you're interested in hitting the sand together, let me know. I'm in Torquay later in January and will be thonging in that area then - I'd like as many good locations as possible.
