I've been shaving the pubes, leaving a triangle landing strip, but I was most interested in removing the hair left and right of it, any that would be visible when I'm wearing my smallest g-string.  Been shaving that for about a year and a half.  I've tried the Bodygroom combo, fresh one-use triple blade razor in the shower (shaving in the direction of growth), even used my regular electric on them.  I get lots of ingrowns, huge pain to keep on top of them.  I tried shaving daily, every other day, even let it all grow way out for a couple of weeks.  Right now my best results are shaving with the Bodygroom once a day, and I still get like a dozen in-growns every day, plus the darker colored spots where they were a few days before.  I never get a really good smooth clear look unless it's an area never shaved before (I just narrowed the point of the triangle a bit and found that out).

The problem is, within 24 hours of a good shave, I get them headed back in, have to dig them out with a needle.  I read you shouldn't pull them out.  But I get red spots and bumps.

I used Tendskin for a year, no real benefit,  I now use a womens bikini area cream, it's keeps some of the redness down, but the hears still grow back in.

What the heck do you folks do for a perfectly smooth, clear, bump and red spot free area?  I'm not up for waxing just yet, but I know that's probably the only way.

If you're just interested in a landing strip and not a full brazilian, wax.  It won't hurt much at all.

I used to have the same problem.Since I started laser hair removal, 12 sessions ago, the problem was completely gone. Even though my hair wasn't completely gone, it grows very slowly and soft, and whenever I shave it I don't get ingrown har anymore. And I'm a guy with a huge problem of ingrown hair (incl. in the face... :( )

Said this before:
Ingrown hairs are from shaving the hair too short.
Try a Philips BodyGroom.  It will trim and shave, but not so short the skin joins up over the top of the hair, so no red bumps.
Recommended by me, and many other men who use them on the more sensitive bits of our anatomy.

Yeah, been using the BodyGroom. works the best of anything, but I still get them anyway.

I had the exact same problem and would get the nastiest ingrown hairs for several years ... for me it didn't matter if I shaved or epilated,  I would always get ingrowns.  I solved my problem with "PFB Vanish," which I've been buying through Amazon.  Read the reviews and take my word, this works!  Just shave normally and use this stuff twice a day and your existing ingrowns will be gone in two weeks.  Thereafter simply use it after you shave.  I shave daily with my Norelco** and use PFB Vanish once a day and haven't had a significant ingrown in a year.  Even if you get an ingrown, it will be small and come out easily, but I think I've had only a couple of those in the last year.  **Obviously one needs a razor for the C&B, but ingrowns are not usually a problem there for me.

Even after I switched from shaving to using veet I would sometimes get ingrown hairs. Possible because I'm not that bright or I just really like being smooth, I kept at it. I don't recall how long it took exactly, but I'd say that within 2 months of keeping my body smooth I stopped getting ingrown hairs.
