I'm going to be in the area at the end of the month and wondered about the current status of Blind Creek Beach, both for C/O use and for thonging.  Looks like a great place to go, but is it safe for C/O use or not?

Also, it's confusing exactly where to go.  I looked at the Friends of Blind Creek Beach web site, and it says that you can set up in the C/O area about 150 yards or 450 feet south of the path from the parking lot to the beach.  I located the parking lot and path on Google Earth, but if you are 450' south of the path, you would be in plain view of traffic on the bridge over Blind Creek (based on Google's beach view).

There is no C/O sign apparent anywhere, so that is no help, although that may have just been taken down at the time the photos were made.  Also, there is another apparent path that runs from the road to the beach on the south side of Blind Creek.  Is that path open?  Did they mean to go 500 feet south from there?

"I looked at the Friends of Blind Creek Beach web site" ... LOL.  That's where I got the info I was asking questions about.  Web sites are often not updated.  I was hoping a member here might have recent knowledge and experience that's not on the web site.

I go to blind creed at least once a week.  It is true that from the parking lot walk about 100 yard south and the c/o section begins.
It continues all the way to the nuclear plant.  That is a much longer stretch of beach than Haulover.

It is also true that the c/o beach is visible from the bridge on A1A, but cars are usually running fast enough and it is far enough that nobody can
tell if anybody has cloths on or not.  Not many people walk up to the top of the dune to be observed anyway.
The rangers often ride by on ATVs and just chat and wave.  The heleocopters also do no circle as they used to if there was a nude body on the beach.

In order to shower or use the WC, drive north about 2 miles to the next public beach.  Frederick Doublas, I believe is the name.

WATCH YOUR SPEED FROM FT PIERCE SOUTH.

By the way, it has taken off quite well over the year, and you will not be alone on the beach,  good mix of couples and singles on the beach as at Haulover.
Frederick Douglas beach has the showers.

I went to Hobe Sound NWR yesterday, and wife and I went to Blind Creek Beach today.  As for Hobe Sound NWR, if you can find it, it is an incredibly deserted and beautiful stretch of beach that goes on for several miles, and almost no one there.  This was a Wednesday with nice weather.  About 10 minutes north of the parking lot, there was no one else out there for a mile or more.  You could see some figures in the far distance, that's it.  I mostly stayed in my thong even though I didn't really need to, because there were ATV tracks out there and it's not really a nude beach.  However, in the 2 hours I was there I saw nobody to enforce that rule or anything else.  Go nude at your own risk, but it seems like pretty low risk since sight-lines are so long -- it would be helos or fast-moving ATVs to worry about, if anything.  Nude is one thing, but if you lack confidence to even wear a thong at this place, you should probably reconsider your swimwear choices.
Today (Thursday) we went to Blind Creek Beach.  Same beautiful beach as Hobe Sound NWR, and this beach also seems very long.  Bad weather until 2:00, so that may have kept some people away, but there was only one other couple and about 2-3 solo guys.  When I stripped, so did the other couple.  There are at least two signs posted for nude beach use, but these are considerably farther down the beach from the main parking lot.  In fact, I was already nude before I realized I wasn't technically in the nude area.  However, the other nude couple was  even closer to the parking lot (only about 100') and there were people fishing and surfing there, but nobody seemed bothered by them, let alone by me.  We walked (me nude) probably a half-mile south and it was very relaxing, no clothes, no gawkers, no hassles, just sunshine, surf, and my lady.  Note that the beach is not technically "nude" since it is not officially recognized, but since the Friends group apparently worked out an arrangement with the Sheriff not to enforce nudity laws and apparently the Sheriff has let them post these large and permanent signs in two locations that cannot be missed.  Even if they wanted to hassle you, they'd have a tough time of it with those signs posted -- so I'd say nudity is safe.
There were a couple of drawbacks.  First, there were lots of biting flies and love-bugs.  Bring a can of insect repellent.  Second, I like to bodysurf but the waves are almost too strong and there is a strong current south that may be part of a riptide (there are warning signs for riptides), although I never felt endangered.  Third, some of the solo guys hang back at the top of the dunes, which struck me as kind of funny, even though apparently harmless.  We plan on returning Saturday, when a weekend and a good weather forecast should bring a larger crowd.  All in all, I think I like Blind Creek better than Haulover, but then I am not a fan of big crowds.

Blind Creek Beach is awesome.  Forget Haulover!  Beautiful beach, one of the best ever even if not a nude beach.  Plus, it was a well-behaved and totally nude crowd with no gawkers, probably a half mile (?) of beach to walk sans clothing, and free parking.  Yesterday there were probably about 8-10 MF couples, about 5-6 MM couples, and a number of single guys, but no misbehavior was seen.  Wife said "very relaxing" and is eager to come back.  If I lived near here, I'd bring out a volleyball and net.  But be sure to "go" before you get there since there are no toilets.

facelessdrone I agree with you about Blind Creek. I would go there anytime before going to Haulover. It is so nice and the people are great and well behaved. Very friendly crowd. The beach to the south of the main walk is about 1.2 miles and you can be nude the entire way. I was there for a week and there would be 100 or more. Several days young folks came to surf and many of them would then lay on the beach nude.A real mix of ages which is good to see.One day, two deputies came up the path and stood looking over the beach and then left. They regularly patrol the parking lot, but do not bother the beach going crowd, unless there is reported inappropriate behavior and then they will come and arrest the offenders.Glad to see that a Sheriff knows what is important and what is best left alone.

Was a great day at Blind Creek today.
Met a fellow thonger from the board there today.

Blind Creek just keeps gettin better all the time.
Nude area goes from the Nuke Plant at the south end, to about 2 miles north.

County must realize the economic benefit.  They are upgrading the area with paths and picnic tables.
Parking area is bulging with out of state and Canadian license plates.

Any new updates on Blind Creek? Is it becoming so popular now that it's a fully legal nude beach that the parking is a problem?

I've been a fair amount. I always show up early and stay like all day so I can't vouch about the parking. I think they freed up some space between last summer and this one.

I go to Blind Creek a couple of times a week.

They are constantly improving the parking area. It get pretty packed on weekends, but never so totally full that a parking place cannot be found.

Great place.

URGENT NATURIST ALERT: The clothing-optional status of Blind Creek Beach on Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce, FL is under threat by actions of an agency of the State of Florida. A lobbyist has been hired to freeze those actions and to pursue positive steps with key players in state government.

Lobbying is expensive, and the financial help of concerned naturists is needed right away. Full details of this matter and payment alternatives are available by clicking or tapping further below.

JM — I would urge everyone to contribute. Not long ago a few prudes inside the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources campaigned successfully to shut down Mazo Beach. Don't let that be a trend!
