Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:09/26/2025 07:31:20Copy HTML I was looking at Axel Beach hotels in Maspalomas. They have large pool and do parties there almost every day. On some of the photos I could see guys in thongs there. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/02/2025 04:55:15Copy HTML I’d also love to know what people’s experiences are at the Axel Maspalomas. It was on my list in the past, but I held back because it’s very much targeted to the gay crowd (or course everyone’s welcome). Given that it’s right beside Yumbo Center, with all the cruising clubs, I wasn’t sure whether wearing a thong at a pool party there would attract more attention than I’d be comfortable with. To be clear, I’ve got gay friends and I’m totally fine in gay spaces, I just prefer not being hit on all the time. I usually laugh it off as a compliment, but being groped by someone really drunk in the past was less enjoyable.
But your post actually gave me the idea to get a pool day pass the next time I'm in Maspalomas / Playa del Inglés the next time and just try it out. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/05/2025 07:23:31Copy HTML I was thinking about the day pass too, as I'm not a fan of parties until late at night and drunk people doing whatever drunk people usually do. But their 'everyone welcome' slogan seems to be inviting, and from reviews on Google Maps, it is not only the LGBT crowd that is accommodating there (I'm not gay, but my best friend is and has told me a lot about their 'scene,' which is not something I would like to try myself, as I am happily married.). I too don't like being the center of unwanted attention; rather than lying in the sun, swimming in the pool, and being in my own world enjoying the freedom only thongs give me. I was hoping to get there in early December this year when it's not that busy, but it looks like a no-go due to work and family commitments. Playa Ingles looks like a good place to thong when it's not too windy. I was planning to walk the whole stretch from north to south, then east towards Meloneras and back (14 km walk) only in thongs, with plans to stop for food and drinks along the route. But maybe next year... |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/09/2025 07:30:29Copy HTML A day pass is a good idea. I've stayed there for the first night of a PDI holiday when arriving late before going on to somewhere more conducive to thonging.
But that was several trips ago and wasn't minded to go back. Can't comment on what it's like in the daytime, but its quite a tightly packed pool area and lots of rooms. I prefer places with about 5% of their number of rooms! Here you can sunbathe and swim and I've usually found so long as you have your head in a good book and are respectful you can get away with anything thong wise.
Being so particular, i actually rate and rank the resorts out there against criteria such as thonging suitability and (since a couple closed in recent years) haven't found one sufficiently high to make me want to splash out on a next trip. I was at Tropical La Zona earlier in the year and got along fine though in my Tangaland and extreme micro Jovana design (a couple of photos in the album). |

Still have bit of a faint thong tan line from trip earlier in the year. Should get nice strong top up to see me through the UK winter. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:05/12/2026 09:02:59Copy HTML I’ve had several holidays in Gran Canaria. I’ve found an adults only commercial hotel that is peaceful and quiet in Puerto Rico. They allow thongs and gstrings at the hotel pool and they have tons of sun loungers on the pool/solarium terrace so you’re not scrambling to reserve a sun lounger at the crack of dawn.
I’ve had no issues wearing the smallest of small micro gstrings at the pool the whole time I’ve been there. No other guys (or women) in any suit as small as mine. Several women tan topless too.
I prefer the more tranquil and smaller setting of Puerto Rico. Public transport is easy to use, frequent and inexpensive. So it’s easy to get to places like Maspalomas, Playa del Ingles, Amadores and Puerto de Mogan for days out.
Definitely worth a visit if you are considering the Canary Islands for a thong vacation. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:05/30/2026 06:11:13Copy HTML I am always surprised how few woman are on this forum talking about the love of thongs. We have just spent a beautiful 3 weeks in Fuerteventura. My choice of swimwear was from the-bikini.com . A selection of 3 minimicro crochet g strings. They do come with a halter top, but that is not required. These strings are very narrow indeed with only a single string underneath and rear. It is so comfortable to wear and I enjoy swimming whilst wearing it. As it is so tiny a full Brazilian waxing is required. The tie strings are so convenient, coming out of the sea or pool I can stretch out on my lounger, undo the strings just leaving the tiny panel on my front. This suit leaves nothing to the imagination....just the way I like it. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:05/31/2026 09:24:09Copy HTML Thanks swimbabe. Fuerteventura is a great island to try out thongs and strings in an easy going environment. Great year round climate and big ocean to enjoy. Plus nudity is accepted on many beaches. Best for guys to forget about shaft suits, balls out etc. & either be covered or naked. Then everyone can relax and enjoy. |

You commented on one of my posts in the past. You and I may be the only two people on this forum who have “publicly” promoted the 'The-Bikini' brand g-strings. I have the men’s tear drop in many colors, including the mesh materials. I have successfully worn the solid colors at all Volusia county beaches in Florida.
It’s great to hear you enjoying the the-bikini g-strings as much as I do. I wish more males would get past their inhibitions, drop the dork shorts, and wear minimal swimsuits. I realize not everyone is going to go straight to a g-string. However it would be great to see more guys wearing swim briefs and thongs. I don’t mind being the Lone Ranger on the beach or at a pool, but if more people (both sexes) wore more minimal suits, I think thongs and g-strings would become more acceptable everywhere. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/24/2026 03:21:30Copy HTML Long post, but I promise the ending is worth it.
I'm on week 6 of a long stay at an adults-only hotel on one of the Canary Islands. Every morning the same routine: one hour run, then straight into the pool for laps. In a thong, obviously -
that's what I swim in. After five weeks the house had reached an equilibrium: most guests don't care, a few have actually told me they like the look, and one lifeguard came over one day just
to tell me I was one of the best swimmers he'd seen at that pool.
So, day 39. I'm doing my laps. A young woman shows up, early twenties, wearing a very skimpy thong herself. Sits on the pool edge, adjusts her goggles. I keep swimming.
She manages about two lengths. Then she stops, hoists herself half out of the water at the end of the pool and just... drapes herself there, on her stomach, backside pointed my way, for several minutes. I keep swimming.
Finally she climbs out, shoots me an angry look, and marches over to the lifeguard. Long speech, lots of hand-waving. It lasted about six of my laps. The lifeguard that day was a young guy who had never seen me before - no history, no sympathy points, nothing. He listened to all of it and did exactly nothing. Because there was nothing to do: a man was swimming laps in a pool, wearing swimwear.
She walked back to her sunbed, completely deflated. Next to her sat an older man, pretty clearly her father. What followed was a conversation longer than my entire swim. His body language: calm, neutral, no scene. Hers: head down, shoulders up, hands hanging. Anyone who has ever received The Quiet Parental Lecture recognized that posture from across the pool. I didn't hear a word of it - but it's not hard to assume the gist: *you're wearing one yourself, so what exactly are we complaining about?*
Here's the ending. A few minutes later she came back - with her sister. Both in thongs. They swam a couple of lengths in the same pool, then headphones on the sunbeds. Life just... normalized.
Two things get me about this.
First, the sheer logic of it. She doesn't like a man's backside in a thong - fine. But I was already in that pool, mid-lap, fully visible from the first second. She walked up wearing a thong
at least as skimpy as mine, saw exactly what was in the water, climbed in anyway, showed her own backside to the pool... and then complained about mine.
Second - and I only pieced this together afterwards - that draping routine on the pool edge was never about relaxing. Think about the sequence: two lengths, then minutes of deliberate backside-first posing, aimed precisely at the swimmer she was about to report. That wasn't sunbathing, that was an anger display. A protest performance: *see how YOU like it.* The problem with a protest performance is that it needs its target to react - and I was busy counting laps. The whole act fell completely flat, and THAT's when she went to the lifeguard. The complaint wasn't plan
A. It was plan B, after the revenge-posing failed.
And a bigger thought about what's going on in a young head like that - because I don't actually believe she's a bad person. Her generation's rule isn't "bodies shouldn't be shown." The rule is: *showing a body is a performance, and the performer is the woman.* By that script, her posing on the pool edge was completely in order - she was in the performer's role. My thong broke the script not by exposing anything, but by swapping the roles: a man who isn't watching her, isn't part of her audience, just swimming his laps on his own business. Not a spectator, not an extra - a competing production. I don't think the complaint was ever really about my backside. It was about my independence from her show. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/24/2026 03:21:54Copy HTML And the question she never asked herself - *I'm wearing one too, do I even have standing to complain?* - isn't something a brain does automatically. That consistency check has to be installed. A generation raised on social media gets it installed late, because their training data says the opposite: I exist for the audience, others exist for me, rules apply to other people. That's not a character flaw, it's an environment product - and it falls apart exactly in moments like this one. Which is why the slumped posture during the father's lecture matters: that wasn't sulking, that was shame. Shame is what it feels like when your own contradiction is made visible to you. Sulking learns nothing; shame is where empathy gets built. I'd bet money that in twenty years she's standing at some pool giving the same quiet lecture to her own kid. That's how this stuff actually propagates - not through declarations, but through one embarrassing afternoon at
a time. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/24/2026 08:27:03Copy HTML It is all to easy to assume conversations and thoughts in other people's heads.
It is possible it was never about you and your thong. Maybe it was a young women trying to flirt with the lifeguard. Maybe the older man had paid for her vacation. The displays and actions of young women are mostly about getting noticed by young men.
It may not be about your thong but more about you upstaging her show. I have a friend who is now in her 50's who resents being upstaged. She said there was a time when she was the prettiest women in the room.
If a life guard and ignored her out of pool show, but instead watched you because you were still swimming, she may go off in a huff. The animated discussion may have been about you - or something else. Don't assume people are dissing you. It may have been about the lost luggage at the airport or any subject she can think of to engage the young stud of a lifeguard. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/24/2026 03:25:34Copy HTML I definitely can concur that wearing a thong or even a gstring suit at a hotel pool in the Canary Islands is ok. From day 1 of my 2 week vacation there in September I wore my skimpiest of gstrings with no issues at all.
It helps if it’s an adults only venue such as the hotel I was at. I had friendly chats with folk at the pool as well as with the lifeguard, who was the same young guy that was there last time I went to that hotel, and even walked to and from my lounger to/from the pool and to the pool level bar to get drinks.
The hotel staff don’t really care as long as you are not totally naked. Even slightly transparent when wet swimwear seems to be tolerated.
I even did a sightseeing day long boat trip which had families on board whilst wearing my gstring suit with no issues.
You don’t have to go far to find a beach to wear a thong either. Almost every beach I went to had women, and even the odd guy, wearing a thong. Naturist beaches can also be found on most of the Canary Islands if that’s your thing, and even some hotels have dedicated naturist tanning areas on rooftops or separate pool areas where tanning ‘au naturel’ is permitted.
My feeling on this whole thing is that if you have the confidence to wear a thong and act normally you are accepted just as you are. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/24/2026 04:34:40Copy HTML That same lifeguard was there again today - you know, the usual one - and he told me with a smirk that dealing with young people these days is tricky; apparently, a young girl had complained that a man in the pool was being too "intrusive" with his gaze.
Generally speaking, about one-fifth of women enjoy the view, while the remaining four-fifths fall into various other categories - ranging all the way to those who have absolutely no interest in the subject at all. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/24/2026 10:10:04Copy HTML So it was not about your thong, but about some other man's gaze. HA! Time for a little head space battle. When you see the young women, in the pool or around the complex, give her a hearty "Good Morning" with a wide smile. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/25/2026 06:53:52Copy HTML Women who wear thongs can be divided into two categories :
- Those who advocate for the freedom to dress however one wants and for open-mindedness. They are allies to men who wear thongs.
- those who adhere to heterosexual norms: women must be sexy, wear thongs, and dress however they want. Men must wear swim trunks and strictly adhere to masculine norms. They are not our allies.
A woman wearing a thong is not an indication of whether she is our ally or our enemy.
The most supportive women I met were all wearing very modest swimwear. I have never met a supportive woman wearing a thong. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/25/2026 11:13:42Copy HTML I agree with that. I’ve had a similar experience. Women in thongs definitely seem to want to be the star of the show and are more often indifferent/obviously not into a man thong a good portion of the time.
I wonder if JM will let this comment stand and not delete it because it is agreeing and not providing an opposing opinion. Quit with the censorship JM. Weakens the board whether you like it or not. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/28/2026 05:38:01Copy HTML -It's true that you can't really tell how supportive a woman is regarding male swimwear choices by her own swimwear choices. She may believe very strongly in traditional gender roles, and all that that entails.
-Regarding the Canary Islands, I watch a lot of beach walk videos. I have conflicting opinions about that genre of YouTube videos. On one hand, I don't like that seemingly everything we do is now recorded for posterity. I particularly don't like my picture ending up on some beach's local Facebook group, but I digress. At the same time, it's nice to be able to see what other beaches are like. So it's a conflict for me. At any rate, the Canary Islands have quite a few male swim brief wearers. It's really nice to see. Few thongs in these videos, but tons of swim briefs. |

Re:Canary Islands, Fuerteventura et all Date Posted:10/30/2026 04:08:42Copy HTML Stacks said "you can't really tell how supportive a woman is regarding male swimwear choices by her own swimwear choices."
Same is true for men. Many men in long board shorts would like to see more women in thongs. So just because a women is not wearing a thong does not mean she does not support men who do. |
