Are there any plans to upgrade this forum to 21st century?
The notice at the bottom says "Copyright 2000", connections are not secured, passwords sent unencrypted, etc.  I get warnings from all modern browsers...

I think the answer to your question is you get what you pay for. Look at all the other issues this provider has had over the years. Second is the issue of migrating all the posts and messages to a new forum. This may not be as easy as one might think. One sollution would be to simply start a new forum with a new company and close this one down as-is on the day the forum is closed. There is a library run forum in our are that tried this and had two issues. First they could not or at least said they could not pay the costs to open a new forum with a new company. Second, since nobody had the technical expertise to migrate the information, much of the old data was lost. One other note -- Go to Microsoft 10 or the latest Apple programs, and many will say something like "Copyright 1985, 1987, 1988, 1993,1995, (etc.) It is not unusual for even the "big boys" to re-use old software and some of the operating system experts think this could be improved on, and many of the issues of for example Microsoft 10 are partly due to the continuous patching and reworking, but never fully rewriting of old code. I agree with the need to update the forum software and bring it into the 21st century, but only if older posts (some going back to 2005 or so) are preserved and only if the service can remain free for those who don't want to pay. I would suggest if you have any knowledge or how this can be done, to let JM know. I know he is just as frustrted as many of the rest of us with dealing with the issues of this older forum company.

Hmmm, I show the encryption is per modern standards. Are you not connecting to https://thongboard.aimoo.com/ ? Signature Algorithm is X9.62 ECDSA Signature with SHA-256 Public key is an Elliptic Curve Public Key And the certificate has a term of one year.
If you get restricted access messages, use the Sign Out option from the menu at the top right, clear your browsers cookies, then Sign back in.
Please cutback on starting new threads. Post replies to to existing threads on the subject.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
First paste it into notepad or other basic ascii editor so that the formatting codes are removed, then cut again. This will give you clean posts.
