Surprised this place with it's schizophrenic policies doesn't get with it for the female market and use "Free the Nipple" philosophy to promote topless sunbathing and in parallel male thong suits.

A update on Glen Ivy I was able to get there just as it open paid the 46.00 dollars went to locker room put on my skinz M55U-3201-SO(this swim suit is very small and unlined but not see thru dry or wet)  and swim trunks on top of those I made my way to the smaller salt water pool at the very back of the resort.

Now I am a mid 50 yr old who doesn't look like what I did back when I was 30  so that being said. While there are quite a few women in with Rio backs I think I was the only one with a G-string /Thong the hole day.

After finding a sunny lounge I sat down and said to myself now or never lets see what happens.  I removed my swim trunks and only wearing my G-String. I sat there face up to see what would happen. I did see a towel staff walked near but never approached. I stayed there face up for a couple of hours as the resort started filling up some guest finding a spot near this pool others finding other locations after seeing me.

I got quite warm after a couple of hours and I could not stay with out getting in the pool as Temperatures climbed to near 100 degrees today.  There were a dozen people in the pool and 90% of the loungers taken up. So I decided to jump in the pool after cooling off it was time to get out and tan bottom up. If I was going to be asked to cover up I felt this would do it.
I laid there for a hour or more a pool cleaner and drink server passed by with out any objection.

Threw the day I got up to refill my water container and to use the rest room I covered with a towel we walking threw the resort.  I ordered a couple of glasses of wine from the server and even got her to take my picture.

The staff never did approach me to cover up. As far as the guest all I can say is I must have gotten a really good crowd. I did hear a few chuckles. A lady talking on her cell phone said that she had sent a picture to her husband, and his reply after seeing me was he would not be coming to Glen Ivy. I am sure there are many Phones with my butt in them now.

Threw the day I chatted with a few people around the pool and I feel I was treated pretty much as if I were wearing a more socially acceptable swim wear.

For me it was a great day, I do feel the staff would treat me the same way if I went another day in my Skinz M55 the guest I could only hope I would be treated as well.  So if we want this to be more socially acceptable we need to utilize Glen Ivy more often and be courteous about wearing a thong or G-String (I would not suggest a sheer suit).

Well I have to take it all back I went today got there early went back to the small salt water pool as I did last time I was sunning buns up in less than an hour I had one of the managers ask if I could change into swimwear that was not so revealing.  It took me a while to dig out the message I had gotten a month ago saying that all swimwear was ok.  They were very nice bought me lunch and gave me 2 passes for a future date so Glen Ivy changes as the wind blows.  There where a couple of ladies with a almost thong suits in the float area so that where this one sits.  Good luck to the next person..

What's wrong with this place?  Must be general managed by a 17 year old?  One of the managers?  sounds like a McDonalds ?
Could be that some tip chasing personnel are trying to follow up on complaint by someone and don't really comply with any policies.  In other words poor management.

I noticed a new 'acceptable swimwear' disclosure on their web site.  It may be the ultimate disclaimer that they do & don't allow thong bathing suits.

www.glenivy.com/glen-ivy-hot-springs/the-experience/faqs/

What To Wear?
In consideration of all Glen Ivy’s guests,  we ask that when choosing a bathing suit Glen Ivy encourages comfort and stylish attire. Please take in consideration that a  “minimal” style bathing suit such as Brazilian Bottoms or Thong may cause offense to others.

Their notice suggests the spa management wishes all patrons a chance to experience a pleasant time at the facility.

Being respectful and courteous to employees, other soakers & sunbathers can have a huge acceptance factor in wearing a thong.  Wearing a smile first and expressing a genuine friendly attitude to everyone influences first impressions and mindsets of those that don't know you.

You may not be able to change the opinion of strangers in who you are or what you prefer to wear.  Ask yourself if your attitude & interactions enforces the relationship of 'stranger' or if your behavior welcomes others to a condition of respect / appreciation / friendship / acceptance of who you are.

If your a jerk, creep, dishonest ill intention slime-bag, poster child of individual you would be ashamed to introduce to your parents or kids - please wear your thong somewhere else.

Do your best as an ambassador.  I still laugh at an experience where I was asked by a respectful / understanding hotel manager if I could change into a suit with more coverage (funny story about a pool area and windows).  Don't let one experience run your day.

Website reports that Glen Ivy Hot Springs is solely owned and operated by GOCO Hospitality.  I don't know if this is a new arrangement or if GOCO is a long term participant in the spa.

We had a great visit years ago.  I'm hoping that we can make another visit to Glen Ivy this year.

Big thank you to all that have posted reports.

This recent post got my attention.....and the disclaimer is encouraging. There are many Europeans and South Americans that visit GlenIvy so I am sure management does not want to hurt business. The disclaimer says to be aware that tiny bikinis might offend - but it does not saythat you cannot wear one! This is such a beautiful spot I hope to revisit this year and will report back.

I went back to Glen Ivy on July 8th I got inline at about 9:15 and the place was near full.  It was one of those over 100 degree days here in southern California I think this place is much nicer to visit on days when it a bit cooler.  The last time I was here I was wearing a Skinz M55U in Mocha g-string the first day was fine the second day I was told it was too revealing.  This time I wore a Skinz a square cut M61U now with this suit I did not expect any trouble with it being to relieving.  As for what everyone else was wearing about 85 of the ladies wore a very stand swimsuit the rest wore a Cheeky bottom maybe a few something a bit more revealing. All the men were in board shorts most just above the knee.  I had a Skinz Sunseeker M57U but I think it was small than the smallest bottom on any of the women so it stayed in my bag.  Like I said at the top of the page  it was over 100 degrees that day I don't think I will go when the weather is this hot again it got very uncomfortable at mid day.

Well I went back again on 8/31 with school back in it was much less crowded.  The resort looked about 85% full most women in the standard swim suit bottoms a few cheekie and couple very cheekie bottoms the guys where in either long board shorts some a shorter regular cut swim short my skinz was by far the shortest. I end up trying my red M57U  I got there early I just decided to see if it was to revealing and had my M61 square cut just in case. I was never told the whole time I was there that I needed to change. It was a nice day spoke with a few people I think people I found them non- judgmental.  About 3 pm a big thunder storm rolled threw the resort. Glen Ivy decided to close early because of the thunder storm but to my advantage they handed out free IOU cards for a return with in 90 days so it looks like I will have another trip back this one on the house.

Spent the day at Glen Ivy on Friday. It was a lovely day, not too hot but sunny. The crowd was probably 90% female. I wore a Koala Thunder Pouch G-String the entire day without a problem. Got a few compliments from the girls sitting next to me and one in line at the bar. I went to Club Mud and spent most of the day in the water on a float. Walked all over the property and with one exception, only positive comments and no issues from management. It's always fun to wear so little in a great environment with a good gender ratio.

Missed going on 10/3 so I went on 10/17 wore my Skinz M57U in lipstick red again I brought a couple of g-strings but decided to just stay in the M57U the resort was about 70 full mostly women only a few men.  As far as swim wear men wear wearing all board shorts except one guy in a speedo plus me in my Skinz.  As far as the women go about 5 or so super cheeky bottoms and at least one thong.  No hassle from management or guest only one neg comment from one of the young towel gathers.  The weather was a great fall day hoping to return before the weather cools off to much...

I confirmed today with two attendants. Thongs are allowable but just mind your own business. I had a mother and daughter come up to me and asked if I could take a picture with them. Do not go into the mineral tub where the tub is close and shared. Ppl would get uncomfortable. You could technically go around without a towel but I just decided to cover myself to avoid complaints. It was a great day at glen ivy

That's great hkim.  I have considered going there but living so close to the beach I just wear my thongs there or at the apartment pool where I live.  But it would be neat to wear my thong at Glen Ivy and it is good to know that it is ok.

Anyone been in there this spring, and if so how is it?  I have not been there in 3-4 years.  Am going to Palm Springs and Las Vegas later this month and am considering stopping by for a day.  Not sure if that would be on a weekend or a weekday yet (hopefully weekday).  It is a beautiful place, but the last time I was there the place was packed - about 95% women.  I wore a g, but there was no one else there wearing anything even remotely cheeky.  The noise level was incredible from all of the talking and I left after a couple of hours.

I think it was a weekday, but not sure since it was quite awhile ago.  Interestingly, I was reading some reviews of Glen Ivy and scrolling through the pictures on Yelp.  Out of 1700+ pictures there were about 5-6 pics of a guy with his wife. He was wearing what appeared to be a thong or g (frontal pics only), tanning on a float in the crowded float pool and in Club Mud getting covered.  Good for him.

On the guy you are referring to's own yelp site he thanked the staff for being so accepting. I'm wondering too what kind of back his suit had since all shots are frontals only. It's also possible the staff was o.k. with it since he was with his girlfriend or wife. I would go to Olive Dell Ranch if I was in that neck of the woods to be 100% certain my thong wouldn't be a problem going it alone.

I was at Glen Ivy on Friday at 9 am when it opened there was a short line  but the resort filled up very quickly. At 10 there were people looking for loungers where I was at around the salt pool in the back of the resort and not finding any.  In regard to what to  where  85% of more of the ladies had on  traditional suits all the guys wear in board tip shorts except me of course. There were more than a few cheeky bikini bottoms and even a couple of thongs on the ladies.  I wore a Skinz 57U Sunseeker as I have the last 3 times I was there with no problems.  I did Face Book  message the resort asking if thongs where ok there reply was yes, you could ask them if G-Strings would be.  My suggestion is wear what you want but bring another suit just in case. Unless you want to stand your ground but if no women are wearing as revealing as you are it might be hard to argue the point.

I went to Gleny Ivy Spa last week. I wore a SkinzWear pink teardrop g-string. I saw no other thongs but a couple of other cheeky bikinis on women. Of course, all the men were in boardshorts. I was defintely the outlier.

It was a fantastic day. I got one compliment from a girl who said, "my friend likes your booty!" I walked past a group of women in the restaurant and I could feel thier heads turn. But I didn't get any complaints. I was prone (face-down or buns up) the entire time so people definitley saw it. The attire was conservative but everyone had a live-and-let-live attitude. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all.

I definitely would recommend Glen Ivy. It's so relaxing and fun, even if you're the only thonger there. Nobody will give you any hassle.

Groundlevel where did you lay out at i was there about 2 weeks ago I always go to the salt water pool in the back to the right. I have been wearing a sunseeker but maybe I try my G-string next time. I agree it is a great place to relax and get some sun. The atmosphere for me was just as you described there were a few girls in Thongs and many in cheeky bottoms and yes all the guys in boardshorts. There were some nice improvements to the property, I look forward to my next trip there.

Shavdm:

I was near the North Pool past the restaurant. I never made it to the salt water pool as I didn't have enough time to enjoy every pool in one day. I think next time I'll explore the other pools and maybe get a massage.
