I stumbled across this article about women's swimwear on the internet.  It is at:

http://hellogiggles.com/have-times-changed-for-the-better-a-look-back-at-womens-swimwear/

It has some interesting insights about women's swimwear -- the changes in styles and ways they got skimpier.  It also has a history of swimwear.  For some reason, the pictures don't work on my computer, but it would be interesting to many even without photos.  The story goes into how pseudo-science research "showed" that bikini's make a man think of tools!  It also discusses the ways women had to fight for swimwear rights, and the way no swimsuit will be acceptable as "modest" everywhere no mater what it does or does not show.

My pictures didn't work either.  I think whoever did the test the "proved" that men seeing a woman in a bikini has the same reaction as seeing a tool, therefor men see women in bikinis as objects not people is about the dumbest thing I have ever read.  This sound like the type of BS we hear about thongs indicate sex.  Even the person writing the article seems to think this is a pretty lame review (what was it based on?  less than 20 men seeing pictures of headless (probably female) bodies in bikinis.  These were apparently pictures of women in bikinis who they cut the head off the picture so the woman's beauty would not affect the results.  This is like taking a picture of a hubcap and getting the reactions of if the car is acceptable for a family.)

Still, interesting topic, some parts of the non-history part I think are valid.

John; Good that it suggested that a woman doesn't have to be a model to look good in a cheeky or thong. Not so good in that it made no attempt to answer their own question as to why bums were suddenly 'in' this season. Also interesting that no true g-strings were shown, which is pretty much in line with what I've observed in recent months.
