In reply to the question about the JS Bulge style posted here a while back - I bought a blue bulge bikini and it is quite an extreme style - your equipment is held up & pushed forwards in a very obvious way. The back is very skimpy too - about 4" wide - so tends to ride up/ become a thong. It's very well-cut and comfortable, like all JS, but the front is so explicit that I wouldn't dare to wear it in public, except on a quiet beach maybe. Anyone else here braver then me & worn the Bulge in public?Phil

I have a small electric blue rio thong which I have worn on the beach in Phuket, definitely no room to manouvre but a great attention graber. I just ensured that my body hair was kept real short

Undergear now appear to sell the JS Bulge line of bikini.  They are called JS Enhancement Bikini.  They don't list the JS model number, but appear to be the same as the BUL 01.  They advertise that they will create a "noticeable buldge" that will show even through jeans.  Has anyone worn these as underwear for that same effect under clothing?  I was thinking about ordering some of the bulge bikinis and thongs for that effect.I have the JS Kini that everyone is commenting about.  I like the style.  I have a 36" waist and it fits me ok.  I have not worn it swimming yet, so I can't comment on how it fits wet.

I bought a number of JS capri bikinis last year for holiday wear and underwear. The orange, lime & mango colors faded very quickly. The uk agent is refusing to stock these colors now. I find it's more accurate to size swimwear by your hip size than your waist. I'm a 30/32" waist, hips 38". The small size Capri fits well, I like a tightish, snug fit. I also consider these a variation on the traditional 'speedo' style, and although a very brief cut, I consider them suitable everywhere for swimming. If girls can wear bikini briefs, so can us guys

I'm interested in a Joe Snyder swimsuit but I'm wondering how are they when wet. As they are unlined, do they become see trough when wet?  Is this true for the light colours that I prefer (white, orange or yellow)?

The white and mango (yellow) suits when wet are completely see thru when wet.  The orange is difficult to see thru when wet.  The blue is not very see thru, the red is somewhat but not much see thru. The wine color when wet shows fairly much what you got when wet and viewed close up. I prefer the wine color as from a distance you can wear them anywhere, but up close getting out of the pool you can see the dark hair area and outline.

Just bought rio thong, thong, capri and kini from JS uk - service excellent.  rio thong extremelly comfortable as are others and very supportive without chaffing.  Have used Kiniki for some years and JS is far superior in terms of comfort and can be used as underwear or swimming etc

I have an orange rio thong and a blue capri bikini.  The orange thong is perfect for tanning with its half inch sides and abbreviated pouch; gives me the tanlines that I look for.  The blue capri bikini can very easily turn into a thong just by hiking up the rear into the butt crack.  Both are sightly transparent when wet, although I don't consider that a bad thing! I like wearing a small metal ring around the head of my penis and it does show through alittle when the suits are wet. Again, a good thing!

Both of my are size large and I think the size generally run small compared to other thong brands.

As I mentioned before, I bought the Capri in Orange, Lime and Mango, and all these colors ran and faded. Has anyone else experienced this, or has JS now sorted their material supplier.

Re:Joe Snyder suits

I am a recent convert to JS swimwear, having been an Olaf Benz swim thong (mini-string) fan for a few years. The material is slightly thicker than the OB equivalent so are better as swimwear than underwear, and the black and wine colours that I now own are completely opaque when wet, which is what I wanted. In terms of fit, what can I say but Wow! they are fantastic. I'm somewhere between a 32-34" waist, and although a Medium is advertised in the UK as 31-33", when they arrive the label says 32-35", but the fit is perfect. The capri bikini has a front very similar to my OB thongs which are reasonably conservative, and I suspect are similar to the JS standard (Tanga) thongs, and although physically much larger the string bikini has a similar fit. The rio thongs however are absolutely on my limit, covering everything, but only just. It is probably the smallest that you can make a thong bikini and still be confident that you are legal in terms of what is being shown. Whereas I have worn both the capri and string bikinis in public pools with no problem (and I've worn OB thongs at the same pools) the rio thongs are definitely no-no except for tolerant beaches / private back garden / semi-naturist environments only. These will get a lot of wear this summer if the weather is good.

I've just received a JS Rio Thong in white, and I must say it's superb, excellent fit and very body enhancing.  I will have no problem in wearing it on holiday, as the private sunbathing area is very quiet, and although the material is somewhat see-through when wet I don't think this will be a bother either as the resort I stay at is very liberal.  I agree with the fact that the cut of the item is very much on the limit, I squeeze in, just about, but perhaps a person who is very well endowed, may have a problem in hiding what he needs to.  I shall now prchase a Red one of these, and venture into buying a Bulge enhancing thong suit to complete my collection.

I think that the worst problem is the availability of quality fabrics. I've often heard from various friends of mine who make garments of all kinds (one of them makes brides' dresses) numerous complaints about how hard it is for them to find the fabrics they need in a really good quality and at a reasonable price. Most of the fabrics you now get are made in China and not always to the highest possible standard. Some swimwear manufacturers have reported to me that, as early as 2000-2002, they could easily get their hands on reasonably-priced, very high-quality Italian and US-made fabrics and now their suppliers stock almost exclusively chinese stuff; some refuse to even touch it, others eventually try to make do with it.

I recently bought the bulge bikini and like the way it fits in the front. However, the back is so narrow it is pretty much a thong after you take a few steps. It definitely takes some getting used to. I would recomment the bulge thong instead.

I have worn tons of JS rio thongs in miami and have never had a problem.  Last trip, i even wore the mesh ones (in white and black).  Didnt walk around in them, but layed out all day with no hassle.  They really dont cover much though.

The JS "kini" one size fits all is very small cut. If you are more than 75 - 80 cm at low waist it will too small. I wear a size 70 cm speedo solar and the kini fits well.  terryfl

I've been a convert to JS swim thongs in the last year, with a couple of capris, thongs and rio thongs which are really good. You can wear which of them feels the most comfortable in the environment. I've just bought a couple of Jock Thongs to replace some worn out YSL thongs, and they are excellent. They are one size fits all so may not be suitable for everyone but are a perfect fit for my 33" waist and will get a lot of wear to the gym this year as a support strap. TG

I like the fit and style of Joe Snyder suits, but the fabric is not the greatest. I have 8 JS swim thongs and Capris that I wear at my gym for swimming laps and have found that the color tends to fade rather quickly especially navy. The fabric needs to be upgraded to last longer.

Style wise...i have yet to find a suit better then the JS rio thong.  My only wish is that they would make the pouch deeper.  I am probably on the higher side of average, and i sometimes spill out the sides.  The back can not be beat....i love those suits.  I have one in every color they make, including the mesh ones as well

I've posted this comment before, Joe Synder swimwear is made from inferior material that fades. Pity, because I like the style, fit and sewing quality. They're not the only ones though, some other online stores are the same. Alphamoda is another one.

I have capris but I feel they are too brief for uk pools for me at leat .

Re:Joe Snyder suits

I wear my Capri suit in my local pool, and it doesn't cause any attention at all. It's only a bit briefer than a Speedo after all. It's not a thong, so there's no reason not to wear one, and the pool swimwear rules can't rule it out either. Not much point in buying them if you aren't prepared to wear them.

Re:Joe Snyder suits

Thanks for the replies but neither really answer my questions about the brevity or otherwise of the Clip and the String .  Are they "interesting enough"?  As for "no point in buying capris if you dont wear them "  I actually wear them to the beach and of course at home so they get used frequently ! Paul AND THEY ARE BRIEF AND BRIGHT !! Sometimes  you need to ring the changes !! All the best .

Re:Joe Snyder suits

slimthong - If you feel the JS Capri is too brief for a pool, then the Clip Bikini would be the next best option. I have one and I reckon coverage is fine for pools but still briefer than what others will be wearing. I'm not convinced by the clip though and the back is higher than the Capri as well as wider so I really don't tend to wear mine much at all. I have no experience of the String Bikini, but from the looks of it, I'd imagine it's larger still. Personally I'd recommend trying Muscleskins if you want something brief and interesting while still perfectly acceptable. Hope that helps.

Yes Im probably going to go for a Clip in a size down to minimise coverage and maybe one dark and one brighter to push things when I feel like it . Im aware that the brighter colours are see through when wet as I do have  a mango  Capri .

Just got my order for a Kini and 2 Capri suits.
I'm an asian with a medium build (waist 34"). I went ahead to order Large for the Capri. (The tag on the suit actually had 36/39 for sizing)

Overall I find that the capri suit fits well around the waist (hips) although I would have preferred a slightly tigher fit (should have tried a Medium as well) , the front pouch is just right (although a little to revealing by my standards on wearing this to a pool/beach... haven't got the guts yet.. )
The back coverage is good, and I really like it. (will find a chance to post pics)

The Kini however is a tad big bit for me (although it is one size), it hangs loose around the waist and doesnt give the required support. I wouldn't order it again, and will keep it as underwear perhaps.

Cheers. Hope you guys are enjoying your suits.

redraider...try muscleskins.  I wore Joe snyder exclusively for the last 5 years, but switched completely at the end of last summer.  The pouch for the snyders was simply to skimpy and really did not contain me.  Since i thong on public beaches, I didnt want to be obscene or inappropriate.  I have hence discovered the muscleskins MP thongs.  THe pouch is awesome.  It cradles you completely yet covers you entirely.  If you want to get a little more daring, the very light colors get pretty sheer when wet.  Even dry, you can "make out" everything, without "seeing" everything.  THey are appropriate for any public beach anywhere yet still super sexy.

They recently revamped their website and introduced a new offering with a much small (i.e more traditional pouch).  Personally, i prefer the MP as it is far more distinctive and unique.  On the other extreme, their revamped MPX is more like a Dore torpedo or missile suit.  Too much for the general public.  I would not be comfortable wearing that suit on a public beach.

stanpuppy #189

Re:Joe Snyder suits

Date Posted:03/22/2009 12:39:34Copy HTML

The pouch is microscopic.  In my  opinion, it is too small.  That is the reason i switched from joe snyder rios to mucsleskins MP thongs.  I am of average to (maybe) just slightly above average size....certainly not "big" by any means.  I found that the JS rios could barely contain me.  I used to poke out the sides all the time.  Since i like to thong on public beaches, i finally gave up and switched to Muscleskins.  Too bad....i absolutely loved the back to the JS rios.  I liked the front style as well...i just wish they made the pouches a little deeper.

I just tried on a few pairs of the joe snyder Launch.  There are four styles.  All of them allow side access.  They run small so get a larger size than normal.  They hold everthing real well, but I had trouble with the sides showing a little bit of my boys.  Maybe about  1//8" to  1/4" slit opening showed what was inside.  Probably more than I am comfortable with on a beach that requires total covering of the genitles.
No one would nitice unless they were staring right at it from the side, but I just don't want any trouble.
Real hot items tho.

Re:Joe Snyder suits

I just received my first ever item by Joe Snyder.

It is a Joe Snyder Rio Thong white underwear. I love it!

I was looking for thong underwear to wear under my gym shorts or sweat pants at the gym.

I prefer thong underwear that holds my private parts firm while I'm working out. I've seen posts in the past by guys who want their private parts flopping around for the exhibitionist effect (I assume). I don't. I'm mainly in the gym to concentrate on my workout.

The material on the tag says 80% polyamide and 20% spandex. That's a high percent of spandex, don't you think. Hence it is very stretchy and seems pretty durable.

The cut of the Joe Snyder Rio Thong is similar to the Skinz Bravura thong both in front and back and the Muscleskins narrow thong with narrow pouch.

My only criticism is that there is not one, but TWO tags sewn in back in the middle of the waistband.

All in all I recommend it.  Hope my review was helpful.

i have a question, is the garment true to size or did you have to size up/down?

Re:Joe Snyder suits

Yes. As far as I'm concerned, the fit is true to size.

My waist is 32. I bought a medium. The medium is supposed to be from 32-35. The fit is great.

Also, although it doesn't say it on the garment tag, on the Joe Snyder it says there is some Lycra. It doesn't give the percent of Lycra though.

I'll try to post a pic when i can. I wasn't planning on taking new pics for about another month.

I've just received a Joe Snyder "Mini Cheeky Boxer" in plain Lemon, which I reckon is a superb twist on a thong swimsuit, as the rear of the item is a high brazillian cut showing off a fair proportion of my ass.  The front is low rise, with my equipment craddled very nicely,  all round the item is a lovely piece of work and very different to the usual range of swimwear Joe Snyder offers for sale.  Has anyone else purchased one of these yet ?

I bought a MCB from JS UK thinking that the mesh front would be lined. It was not so it had to go back and JS UK do not appear to stock the version without the mesh front. May I ask where you bought yours and also about sizing. I have a lot of JS swimwear and it is all Medium (I'm 36 inch waist) but the MCB that had to go back was medium but far too small. What size did you buy ?
