I've got the following JS

Kini - small coverage at front, hugs your rear and sits on top of your bum.

Bulge bikini- small stretchy coverage at front, half coverage on rear like the capri

Bulge thong - smaller coverage on front than bikini, curves nicely around the top of your rear to form a T

Rio Thong - Very narrow at front

Clip Bikini - a more moderate one for normal beaches.

Love the colors of the Rio thongs, but I'm with the guys that have issues with the size in the pouch  way too small , can just manage to get my package in but if i move then !!!

If they were a little more generous then this would be one of my favorite thongs . The back is great as are the colors. Tried the mesh Rio but not as much stretch and it just did not fit.

Yeah, I looked up the Rio thong online and I could see where the pouch needs to be re-worked. Very easy for a guy's parts to spill out of that pouch.

Prevail Sport sells what they call the "Micro Thong" as both swimwear & underwear. It's got the same narrow pouch design as the JS Rio Thong. I've got a Micro Thong swimsuit from Prevail & it fits really well. Everything stays in the pouch as it should.

Has anyone else noticed that the Rio thong actually doesn't offer much coverage for your bits? I've had a few occasions where I can't get everything to fit. Bit annoying as they could have made the front pouch slightly bigger of more stretchy.

Yeah I've had problems with the rio covering the essentials. Why they couldn't make the pouch a bit bigger i do not know.

ajsbuk:  Unfortunately, inadequate coverage seems to be a common problem with Joe Snyder for many, if not most, of their items. I don't know if anyone from JS reads this forum, but if they do, a slightly larger (but not too much larger) pouch would be a major improvement. While marginal coverage should not be much of an issue for underwear, for swimwear it can cause a swimsuit to be unwearable in most public venues.

Haven't been on the forum (for which I apologise) so haven't been keeping you all up to date on news from brands like Joe Snyder.
Ok main bit of news from them (and from us at deadgoodundies really) is that one comment from customers and potential customers is that even in the size large they were a little bit on the small side for some people.
So what we've done is got them to make size XL's in the majority of the ranges just for little ol us
Hopefully this will open up Joe Snyder to a lot more customers now and if it does well im sure that size XL's will also be available at some point with your own personal favourite Joe Snyder retailer.

I'll try and keep on top of passing news in the future to here I promise.

I really love my JS Capri that is now probably three years old and nearing the end. It is black and it is one of the few rio's that is almost a thong. I really do love this style and wore it several times in Punta Cana last week. I bought a dark blue one to replace it last year but the material seems more flimsy and does not hold in place as well as the previous one. I'm not sure if this is because of a change in material or because it is slightly a different color. Anyone else have this experience or was that just a fluke?

Hey I have the Kini, the string sides are just too big (long).
Anyone knows how to shorten the strings? Other than that the pouch and back is ok.

Not familiar with that particular one, though if it's a dark colored fabric, you could cut ends, hold a flame to it to burn/singe it.  Might not be the most elegant approach, but I've done it and it looks okay.   you could experiment by just cutting a little off and flaming it, if you don't like it, take it to a tailor and have them sew up the ends a little shorter.

I have a dark red Kini. The problem is only being avilable in one size. I regularly wear a navy blue Capri for pool swimming sessions & find it  superb - just the right amount of "public" cover & no more.

A question re the bulge designs - is this achieved by the cut, or by different material?

Indeed, I have no problem with the Kini, which has a minimalist front, but the Rio, doesn't offer enough room for most men. Alternatively they could put the full stretchy pouch in that they use on the bulge styles.

Wore the Joe Snyder Bulge Thong this summer and the fit is great and the bulge is perfect! Will add som nice pix soon! The thong gave me a nice tanline, very visible! The thong is one of the best fitting swimthongs I have tested so far.

I have had many JS's in the past and liked all of them, the back gives lovely shaped tan lines, and the quality is excellent, the front of the Rio is just right for me, a little small but just right. My GF is not keen on thong tanlines on me (much to my disappointment) and as I will not go nude to tan, I have moved to the one sided thong, just a shame JS dose not make this style. Regards Paul

Having heard of the small and snug fit of the rio thong, I tried the tanga thong 03 instead. I am 31" waist and wear XS for HOM, but I really have to go for M when I buy joe snyder. It just barely holds everything in the front, and I found there is a little bit loose towards the back. I think I won't try the rio thong, to avoid my package goes out.

I bought the capri bikini recently, also M size, it fits good, the half back coverage is quite interesting and I like it, the look is quite sexy too. As I wear mostly thong, I think I have to get used to the half coverage, similar to my first time wearing thong. The back coverage will slip into the butt crack after some time of wearing.

I like the shiny fabrics of joe snyder and it dries real fast. I can't wait to wear them to the beach! But before that, a good shaving is a must!

I am curious if anyone has tried the new size XL?  I am a size 36" waist and I currently have multiple pairs of size L thongs and bulge thongs and bulge bikinis.  They all fit very snug, borderline too snug.  I am curious if the new size XL has more room in the bulge of the thong or bikini or just more room in the waist?  Thanks in a advance for your comments.

With the self-confidence that is required for a guy to wear a thong swimsuit, I suspect that any embarassment might be more greatly experienced by the audience rather than by the swimmer!

I find that different suits by JS fit me very differently. I should say that my package is small, and I have a 30" waist, and I buy their suits in size small. I find that their ordinary bikini fits me well - one of my favourite bikinis in fact, and in black it's reasonably modest. (I also have one in bright blue, which shows my front profile more obviously - but still a very nice, comfortable & brief bikini.)The Bulge bikini also fits me ok, but obviously pushes everything out front, so it is less than modest. The back is also super-brief. The Capri bikini fits me ok at the front. But the back is so close to being a thong that it becomes one if I walk around in it. (Fine if you want to thong, though)The Clip bikini's front pouch is too narrow for me - I rarely have this problem because I'm small, but this suit gapes at the sides of the pouch.I also bought a JS Kini - this is "one size fits all" - which of course isn't true. I like string-side tangas, but I find the front pouch too large, and so I don't like it. One-size is always useless, for my physique. So - JS is one of my favourite swimwear companies, but not all styles work for me.

Thank you all for your comments.  It appears that I need to maybe consider some alternatives to Joe Snyder thongs as I prefer a little more coverage to my package.  So far it appears that Muscleskins are pretty popular here and I like the fact that they are customizable.  I'm going to start looking into them as my Joe Snyder thong tan line is almost gone and I want to start over with a new thong tan line with something that fits me better.

I tried Joe Snyder but could never fit everything in front without a gap or getting something pinched.  Muscleskins is great..I wear a "Classic" series (not the "Poser") on normal beaches and there's plenty of room without seeming rude.  The fabric is stretchy and they cut it to accommodate a mans form properly.  They're so light it feels great and like nothing even in a non-thong cut.

I just wish they had more patterns instead of just solid colors...

Like Maozer2003, I find the JS bikini (JS01) a really nice look, with very decent coverage.  Having a 34" waist and moderate sized equipment, I found the Large fits just fine, and in black it has worked well at my health club pool.  But it's turned gray and has stretched thin.  Just yesterday I noticed in the mirror that skintones are starting to show thru.  That won't do at this venue, so I've retired it for underwear on non-thong days.  Do others have this same problem after moderate use of their JS suits in pool conditions?  With my Speedo, Tyr and Arena suits, black has always held up well, even after the stretching sets in, so I get a lot more use before 'anatomical detail cling' forces their retirement.

Recently I have become a Joe Snyder fan & have the Clip bikini, Capri bikini and Kini. I have worn all of them to various public pools without any problem. The Capri is perhaps the best of the lot being pretty minimal but just about sufficient cover to wear anywhere. My only issue is with the Snyder material that seems to have a very short life.  Any thoughts on garment life?

gsj, agreed, JS fabric has a very short pool life.  Just had to retire my black bikini (JS01), got too faded, see-thru and stretchy/clingy to be decent any longer at my health club.  The new mango and navy ones coming soon will be saved for the beach, on those few occasions I'm not in a thong or g-string.

After hearing that Joe Snyder now offers an XL size, I decided to order an XL bulge thong to see if it fit better than smaller sized JS thongs that I previously had tried. This turned out to be a mistake. The XL waist was too loose on me but, believe it or not, the pouch actually was smaller than in their size Large thongs! Perhaps the one specific thong that I received was incorrectly cut smaller than it should have been, but who knows?  I like Joe Snyder's styles but, unfortunately, their relatively small pouch simply does not work for me despite being of only very average endowment.  I should note that for comparison purposes, I have found the Muscleskins Poser "standard/wide" pouch to provide acceptable coverage.

As I posted quite a while ago, JS material quality leaves a lot to be desired, fading very quickly. Maybe any retailers here could have a word in their ear. I wear my Capri in my local pool, I refuse to wear anything with more 'coverage', and I've never had any issues, nobody seems to take any notice. Wish the UK had the continent rule of no dork shorts in the pool though!

How does the sizing on the JS suits run ? There is no size guide on their site.

I was thinking of ordering a Capri for our upcoming Australia trip, but not sure if to go for Small or Medium. I am 32 inch waist - the size I normally order  depends on the supplier. For Dore, I order medium, as her suits run very small and tight.  For Skinz, they seem a big on their sizing, so I order small from them.

Thanks

I am sad to report that my Joe Snyder Capri is near the end of it's life. After my short swim yesterday I noticed the material is gettign weaker. Perhaps it was the chlorine in the pool. The suit will be missed as it functioned as such a quick fake thong, nd it was a great swimsuit.

Re:Joe Snyder suits

Pete, I suggest you go with the medium.  I get a large for my 34" waist, and wouldn't consider anything less in a JS suit.

Re:Joe Snyder suits

Pete, I also suggest you order a medium, I am 31" and wears medium, the pouch is just OK enough, but the waist is a bit loose, I think medium would fit you well, just a little concerned that the pouch might not be enough for you, and in that case, don't order rio thong at the first place as they run very small.

Thanks for the help guys - I ordered a medium capri in blue- it arrived yesterday. It fits well - the small would probably have led to some 'spillage' at the front.  Rear coverage is almost a thong, but not quite ! I am quite impressed, and I may get some more of their stuff for next summer.

I have the Joe Snyder cheek boxer in camo and really like it for those times when I want more coverage than a thong or even speedo offers.  I wore it yesterday at the gym to the jacuzzi.  Though I always wear my Muscleskins thong underneath for extra support.  I really like the very thin material on the Joe Snyder stuff.  I have it in white as well but that becomes too see through for the gym.

I have the mini cheek boxer in camo print, and have worn it to the gym pool.  It definitely shows more skin than the cheek boxer, but a lot less than a thong.  I like to wear it as a cover up over a skimpy g-string or thong too, even the camo material gets a little bit sheer when wet.

I haven't bought any JS swimwear in a while since I have so many pairs. However, I just took advantage of the sale online at Fresh Pair to order a couple new JS thongs. FP lists them as underwear while some sites list them as swimwear. I find they wear well as either though I prefer to use JS suits as swimwear at the beach and lake. I ordered a bulge thong in sheer white which I hope to wear at one of our favorite desolate beach spots where we have worn sheers suits before without issue. I wish JS offered more suits in more colors as sheer material.

In anticipation of my annual vacation in South Florida, I purchased two new thongs - one of which was a Joe Snyder bulge thong....and I could not believe how small it is.  Not comfortable and it looks as though it was designed for a woman rather than a man!  At the same time, I ordered a Good Devil Zoom Thong and it is superb.  Fits well with small yet sufficient coverage.  It is an enhancing design and accomplishes that as well.  Unlined but not at all see-through.

As I've posted here before, Joe Synder, although a nice style and fit, they let themselves down with poor quality material that quickly fades. The Mango, Lime Green and Orange are particularly poor. After a dozen or so swims, they will start to become unwearable, a combination of becoming see thro' and poor color. The only colors I've found that last, are the navy blue, and bright blue.

ukessexbob - I agree re poor wear quality from JS. I have found the claret colour worse than navy blue but neither particularly good. In fact I am beginning to think JS items do not represent value for money and my business may be going elsewhere. Frankly I would question fitness for purpose when a garment is virtual scrap after only a few wearings, despite careful laundering etc. Am I being harsh in my view?
