Date Posted:06/16/2007 09:34:37Copy HTML In August, we'll be spending a few days in Langkawi as a side trip while visiting relatives elsewhere in Malaysia.
Does anyone have an info on beaches to go to or places to stay (or perhaps avoid)? I'm not necessarily expecting to thong, although that would be nice. We're hoping to swim, snorkel, relax, and perhaps avoid most of the noisy kids.
I'd be grateful for any report.
Thanks,

Re:Langkawi Date Posted:06/01/2009 01:59:32Copy HTML Hey there,I may be little too late to reply,lol..but for the benefit of those who wants to spend sometime in Langkawi,I strongly suggest Tanjung Rhu Resort.A great resort and beautiful beach where you can thong or wear skimpy bikini.Been there, and will be there again. My profile pic is one fine example of the heavenly resort.

Re:Langkawi Date Posted:06/02/2009 01:39:52Copy HTML Hi Sunseeka,
Tanjong Rhu Resort is expensive ! Is it because the beach is a private beach ? I saw a tanjong rhu beach at langkawi website, so it should be open to public. Unless you are refering to a small private beach which only those staying at Tanjong Rhu Resort can use ? |

Re:Langkawi Date Posted:06/04/2009 01:32:31Copy HTML Yes it is exclusive resort(and certainly pricey!) but the beach is a private one so you do not have to worry about what you wear as long you're not in your birthday suit though I've seen some European ladies change their attire there and then, completely in the buff without any rude stares and the staff there just smile and delighted.I love the resort so much so that I don't feel like going home...

Re:Langkawi Date Posted:06/04/2009 03:09:23Copy HTML I've been around for a long time but never actually posted something, until TODAY! :)
I've been to Langkawi at the beginning of the year and i was at the Mutiara Burau Bay where i've been in a thong every day. There really is no problem when you stay at the hotel because all have a private beach. I would not wear a thong on any of the public beaches because of the religion and i don't think the muslims would appreciate it. You can even be arrested because i understood that it is in violation with the rules of the country. At the private beaches (hotels/resorts) you see many more people in a thong, saw a guy and a girl in a thong toghetter and a women with a kid playing at the beach in her thong and top. |

Re:Langkawi Date Posted:12/26/2022 10:49:20Copy HTML Does anyone have any experience of thonging in Langkawi on the south side of the island on Pelangi Beach? If so, what are the vibes? I’ve thonged on the beaches of the hotels in the north with no issues but they were a great deal quieter and more remote |

Re:Langkawi Date Posted:12/27/2022 07:46:56Copy HTML I've not thonged on Pelangi beach as I've not been there. I've thonged on Pantai Cenang and Tanjung Rhu on the NE corner, my favourite beach, lots of times with no problems |

Re:Langkawi Date Posted:12/28/2022 08:26:29Copy HTML Enjoyed quite a few spots around Langkawi over the years. Apart from the hotel beaches my favourite would be Pantai Tanjung Rhu.
There's a beach bar and a restaurant nearby. |
