I sometimes wear a slingshot, Y back with the little suspenders and clips, I got kinda kinky and ran them through the nipple rings, that was freaking hot and did get the looks. The straps really pull on the rings which feels good and looks good too.

My nipples were kinda full to begin with but since piercing them they are definitly larger in size and more pointy and more prominent. Sometimes in a tight shirt or tank top I get self concious when I notice people looking but I guess it goes with it and is partly why I like them so.

I got both my nipples pierced too and have 4 mm rings, light weight ones. Ones with an extra ball were too heavy and caused problems. Now had them around 8 years, they neveer make trouble and look great.

I'm a little tempted to get a nipple pierced but think it might be too much of an irritation having it in all time.  But if I took it out it would just heal over so there's no point...  A girl I knew once asked if I'd get a nipple pierced but never did.   They are obviously attractive to the opposite sex!

If you're just having one done, I'd recommend getting the left done if you're in the UK/Australia and the right done in Europe/US. Why? Well if you drive it will be much more comfortable with the seat belt whilst it heals. :)

Go for it if you want it. Don't worry about what people think, And for the question, It is not a gay thing. I have both mine done for a few years now, and i have then pierced with 12g loop barbells. It draws a little attension when i take my shirt off, espessialy now after a summer of tanning, the shiny silver stands out. I had some younger kids walk by and notice and blurt out " Whooah did you see that guys nipples?" I have my tongue pierced with 8g barbell, And i want to get my navel pierced next. I am strait, married, and my wife thinks my nipples look hot. She is not sure of the navel though, i don't see it as gay, but she isn't so sure.

I had my left nipple pierced with a 12g barbell in June and have had no problems. Looks great with a tan and no strange looks. I am going to upgrade to the next size in a couple of months, hoping the balls will be a little bigger and the bar longer - go for it it is a great feeling. Still gives me a surprise when I catch site of it in the mirror. My waxing chicks think it looks great.

Well, I finally had both nipples pierced this past week.  Since I am a runner/marathoner, my piercer, Amy, wanted me to wait until after I was thru training for the latest marathon which was last week, so on Tuesday the big event happened.  I am straight as an arrow, but I like the look and feel of nipples being pierced and especially with a thong on the beach, the look is hot. So to answer the question, yes it is OK for men to have their nipple pierced.  I don't read anything out of the ordinary into it, just someone wanting to express themselves in a special  way.  This was my 14th and 15th piercing so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Duct tape - use number 11,692.

Seriously wear tape over each nipple and a shirt that does not snag, and / or some 'body glide'.  Wash after sweating and treat with anti biotic ointment until healed. I suggest trying a good quality, good stick surgical tape that sticks well to skin, or duct tape.

Many men who run have sensitive nipples, that will bleed on long runs if they don't tape them.  You would have thought that men with nipples that bleed would have found out in training and applied tape and/or body glide, but when managing the finish for long races, 1/2 or full marathons, I still see a lot of men's shirts with blood stains down the front.

The women have figured it out: Most women who suffer from sensitive nipples that may start to bleed during a race wear a bra. It's the men who arrive with blood stains down their shirts. (Not most men, just a few).

If you are not doing anything very repetitive for a prolonged period then I don't see you would have a problem with going right back in and getting on with your gym workouts.

Duct tape?  No don't use duct tape, go out and buy some liquid bandage and apply that over your piercing.  I comes off with soap and water.  I highly doubt that you want to rip tape off of your freshly pierced nipple.

Re:Nipple piercing

Thongsc is right, don't use duct tape.  I was pulling your leg about duct tape, but I have seen people use medical tape or nipple guards.  Thongsc's suggestion of liquid bandage sounds good but I don't know anyone who has tried it.

pokeyjr:  to answer your question, Amy, my piercer, wanted me to take 2 weeks off from training in order for the nipple piercing to somewhat heal.  The total healing time is 3 to 4 months, althought my body heals pretty quick if my other piercings are any indication.  Anyway, I had them pierced on a Tuesday, and did a 4 mile run on Saturday with no ill effect.  I did run without a shirt which I would recommend for problaby 3 to 4 weeks.  I ran 6 miles on Sunday and the nipples were a little sore.  I have been to Brikam yoga on Monday and today (Wednesday) with no problem.  Amy advise me to do a sea salt soak 2 times a day soaking each nipple for 5 to 10 minutes which promotes the healing of the tissues.  I will continue to salt water soaks for 3 to 4 weeks.  If you need to wear a shirt for running, wear a comprression shirt like an Under Armour shirt which will compress and hold the jewerly against your skin.  Amy was concerned about the sweat from running, yoga or working out and the bacterial on your skin would possibly cause an infection, but if you keep your piercing clean and do the salt water soaks, you should not have any problem.  My nipple piercings are now 8 days old and have not had any problems.  Don't hesitate ( I waited 2 years) and get it done.  I don't think you will regret it.  You should not be out of the gym more than 1 week.  Good Luck!

chris0721:  Thanks for the info.  I actually went and had them done this past Wednesday.  I didn't react well to the first piercing and had to lay down for the second.  Once they were in, I was fine.  Hardly notice them now unless I bump them.  My piercer was great and I would recommend him to anyone living in the Annapolis, MD area.  I have been doing the salt water soaks in the evening before bed and using an mild antibacterial soap in the shower in the morning.  The problem is that my wife wants to play with them now.
I'm thinking of starting back at the gym in two weeks and just doing low impact cardio such as the bike and the elliptical machine for the first couple of weeks.
I'm really glad that I decided to do it.  I haven't told anyone except for a friend at work.  I come from a very conservative family and need to gain the courage to show or tell them.

pokeyjr:  congradulations on your decision.  Tell your wife to take it easy on you till you heal then play to her hearts content.  As far as telling anyone, my advice is to just let it happen naturally.  They will eventually find out but til then just act like nothing has happened.  I didn't tell anyone about my piercings when I had them done but just let them find out by observation and then let them ask questions.  I had my done on a Tuesday and when on vacation with 2 other couples on Friday to the beach.  We were on the beach just about all day before anyone noticed so it was kind of funny.

Thanks Chris.  I have told one lady that I know at work.  She's the type that we can talk to each other about anything.  She told me that she had her belly button pierced but quit wearing it after she put on some weight.  I told her that she needs to get it redone since she's loosing weight again and working out.  I've even told her that I wear thongs.  I've only told her because she was working on my computer one day and when she bent over to type something, her thong flashed.  I few other people know and they don't seem to care.  My 13 yr. old daughter has figured out that I wear thongs too.

Has anyone had any difficulty getting through airport security with their rings in?  What about riding a roller coaster?

I don't know about roller coasters or what that means with regard to piercing jewerly but if you wear a high quality jewerly, there should not be any problem with airport security.  I fly quite a bit and had never had a problem with 14 pieces of jewerly.

On another note, has your 13 year old daughter said anything to you about wearing thongs??  ie,supportive or not?

Re:Nipple piercing

Didn't know if the rings would have to be removed before riding a coaster that has the bar that come down over your head and across your chest.

I was wondering about airport security.  I didn't know if it would set off the metal detector.

My daughter hasn't really said anything.  She just looks at them and gives a funny look.  My wife wears thongs also so it's the norm around here.  All of our daughters have seen my wife in her thong.  We have both told her that if she wants to buy her own and wear them that is fine but if she flashes it in public that we're going to give her a wedgie.  No reason for a 13 to flash her thong in public.  She knows that we're joking with her.

For the same reason, I don't wear any of my thongs with metal in them when I fly. I don't need airport screeners to pull me aside and ask why they can see metal rings and whatnot in my pants.

I think that having both nipples pierced look better than one.  I had my pierced about 4 months ago, but had to remove one several weeks ago because of a migration problem.  One piercing just doesn't look as good, so I can't wait until I can get this one pierced again.

I have had my right one pierced for 2 years now.  I love it.  The drive home sucked, the A/C was on and instantly made my nipple hard so I turned it off and opened the windows.  The rush of warmer air helped.  I did not know there was a stereotype about nipple piercings.  I have my right one done.  But I have to gauged earrings in my left ear only.  I think it was worth it.  One tip I would say helps is, while it is healing eat healthy.  You will heal faster.  When going to bed if you have anything it can get caught on wear a shirt to bed.  I know it sucks but it wont get caught on anything and you wont catch it on your finger as easy if you forget and scratch while asleep.  Mine is a 16 Gauge Hoop.  I have been thinking about a bar since you cannot see it through the shirt as easily at work if the shirt is tighter but then again, I kind of like watching people notice it haha.  Helps with sales with the females sometimes.

I would recommend wearing a  capative bead ring (CBR) in lieu of a straight or curved barbell. (I have a 12 ga. CBR working my way up to a 10ga.)  The ring won't get hung on clothing and will be easier to wear.  I don't worry about what people can or can't see thru my shirt, but I agree with you that it is kind of fun to see people notice and either their look or attitude changes, depending upon their perception of body modifications and jewerly.  I also have a 12 ga. CBR in my left ear lobe.  I am not aware of any stereotyping by the type or where you wear your jewerly.  I believe these days that just about anything goes and really doesn't have any significance relative to stereotyping people.  Good luck with your piercings.

I had mine done (both) ten days ago. Wish I'd done it 20 years ago! Highly reccomend to all. However, the technique of both at same time sounds good. Mine was same piercer, and about 15 mins apart. Almost didn't have the bottle to do the second one! Yes it hurts (everyone has different pain threshholds) only for for seconds though, and yes I did swear, which I never do normally! but it was well worth it and I love em now.

To add, I also had my first tattoo done (on my pubic region) just before the piercings. A very intense day indeed!

The tattoo settled within the hour. The piercings within 24hours.

As far as thongs go, always wear em, and as far as shaving goes...from the neck down for 14 years...

To answer the topic question... For sure its ok! Best thing I ever did and wish I'd done it 20 years ago. It hurt like hell, but only for a very short time. 10 days on, love the look, love the feel. Only regret? Should have done it sooner.
As far as the signals go... don't care, married for 21 years, she initially thought no, however now loves it! Don't care what others think.

Well I finally went and got my left nipple pierced after having the right one and navel done 2 years ago.  It took quite a while to psyche myself up to get the second one done but really wanted to to match up both.  My old piercer has stopped piercing but I got the jewellery off him and went to another one.  I also smeared on Emla, which is a numbing cream used for needles in hospitals etc, for a few hours beforehand to try and help with the pain.  I also had to get the guy to make sure the left one was very similar to the right one otherwise they'd look silly.  He couldn't get a grip on the nipple to pull it out because of the cream (which he'd wiped off anyway) and got a different toola and just as he was about to do it slipped and he had to set it up again.  When he did actually pierce it it hurt to go in but nothing else.  Both nipples and navel are titanium and the guy had a problem bending it back around to form the circle to put the ball in but managed.  It was tender for a few days.  I've since noticed that the left one is very very slightly deeper than the right one but the guy said it would move forward a bit anyway.  I've also changed the ball on my right one to a double ball that has a small ball at the ring join and a larger ball underneath that.  I tried to change the left one but have discovered that the two ends are very slightly too far apart (the ball on that ring was obviously a little bigger) and so once ít's all better I'll go back to the piercer and ask him to bend it enough for the double ball to fit.  The added benefit of the double ball is that I can feel it moving a lot more than when it was just the single one.  Now there are no more piercings for me, except maybe a fourth on my ears.

I had mine done long ago though I applied a liberal dose of pain killing cream beforehand. I found that PA and reverse PA piercings were no bother after a day or so but the nipples gave me a degree of gyp for several months. 9 years ago I had them pierced anew as the bars were gradually working themselves up towards the tips. The second time I used niobium coated rings and they were fully healed within a couple of weeks.

Just a question, why can't you get it pierced? If it is an issue with someone else seeing it, they make clear retainers to make it as least vissible as possible. Then you could change it out for jewelry of choice for that day. Otherwise, sorry, I don't knoe how to keep it glued. I know there is a sort of temperary glue that bikini contest girls use to keep the backs out of the crack, and the tops covering at all times, but I don't know if that will hold good enough for jewelry.

Just how noticeable are the piercings through t-shirts?  I ask because I want to get my nips done because I want to and like the idea of others not knowing -- just like wearing thongs!  It makes it more exciting because most people think I'm really conservative! LOL
I live in t-shirts practically year round and I always wear an undershirt, so it's like wearing two shirts. Although it's not like women who can wear bras with padding to hide their piercings -- besides, they always seem embarrassed if their nips are even visible.   Does it make a difference with the type of jewelry used?

ayepapi:  I have had my nipples pierced for about 2-1/2 years, and wear polo shirts quite a bit.  The ligher color the shirt, the more the jewerly will show thru the shirt.  if you are wearing a undershirt under a regular or polo shirt, it should not be noticeable unless you are wearing a large captive bead ring larger than 10ga.  If you where a 10 ga or smaller curved or straight barbell with regular size beads, you should be OK.  You can always change out your jewerly for something that shows less.  Good luck with your piercings.  You will love them.

Both of mine done. I usually wear a ring but sometimes a small chain or ball on them for extra weight, same for my navel. My nipples are fairly large and so it so it works nice, plenty of room for them. I like the feel of the weight on them and the way they look under a tight shirt. Frankly, I think they have gotten larger since being pierced and more sensitive.
