Thong Day Every Day

Date Posted:08/13/2003 02:16:09

I was just in Orlando in August and went to "WET N WILD" one day. Wasn't sure if there was a rule against thongs there. So, of course, I wore one anyway.

I did bring a towel with me for the first few hours to wrap around me for the walks between rides. On the first ride, I thought that I would test the waters of my attire by riding the slide twice in a row. The young girls said nothing the first time around but that might just have been a case of shell-shock. Sure enough she didn't say anything and I made sure of chatting with her a little bit. Cute girl by the way.

There are some definitely hot young ladies at Wet N Wild. One word of warning when going down on the "STORM" ride, which is like a slide going into a huge toilet bowl. When you go in just a thong you go so damn fast that I bruised my shoulder blades from going so fast I was still high in the toilet bowl I hit the entrance hole the second loop around. I'm sure the ride was designed with some friction factored in the formula. Still a blast.

As the day wore on I eventually lost the towel. No one ever said anything. Go for it. Why not?

I also went to wet n wild this year, and prior to arriving phoned to check the policy on swim wear.  I was told that thongs are allowed but must be covered by shorts or a cover up!!!

I decided to go anyway and wore a Black slide back, which goes from a full back to a complete thong, but allows you to do it without it being an obvious thong.  The speed you get when going down in a thong is far better than anything else I have used, In my mind they should be compulsary if you want the best ride.

Whilst there I also looked around to see if anyone else was thonging, no men in thongs or speedos, just countless amounts of dork shorts, however there were some girls sunning themselves in thongs who must have been in there mind 20's, and one girl in a group who must have been about 16ish, who was full of confidence in her black thong bikini. From what I saw nobody really cared about what she was wearing.  If only this was true for other places I have visted.

I feel the rule is a loose one at wet n wild, so if someone complains or the suit is in their minds to obscene, they can ask for you to cover up.

There's a Wet-n-Wild in Las Vegas also. Does anyone know if thongs are as tolerant there as it is in Orlando?

All,

I looked up Wet N' Wild's webpage and under this link http://www.wetnwild.com/Orlando/Main/Main.asp?CategoryID=2& you will find that it says that thongs are permitted!

The statement that they can ask you to cover up gives them an out if someone complains. Unfortunately, it's much more likely to be used against men than women. I was once at a local pool wearing a string bikini, not unlike what many young women wear there all the time. And I was asked to cover up because there had been complaints (and I'm in shape). Bottom line: I was a guy, and guys aren't supposed to wear minimal suits. Just another of those unwritten rules, I guess.

I can tell you right now, that I am anxiously looking forward to a return trip to the Orlando area. this time maybe even getting to Wet N' Wild. And if I cn't make it there, then I guess the hotel pool will have to do. I did get down to my Joe Snyder Capri bikini last winter at the Kissimmee Days Suites. The only other person at the pool, a woman did not seem to mind it one bit. And there were a few other guests who walked by and saw me, but no negative reactions.

Not that it matters since thongs weren't allowed, but Wet 'n Wild in Las Vegas has closed as of September 26, 2004.

the Orlando location does allow T-back swimwear, but qualifies that it is a family park.

12. Are T-back bathing suits allowed to be worn in the park? Yes, however, as Wet 'n Wild is a family water park we do reserve the right to ask you to cover up.

Have fun thonging!

PedalPower,

Very depressing when a guy gets told to cover up but not a chick. 1st, if I had the guts to thong at a public place. I would make sure there are some women thonging so that if I was asked to cover up, I would say that's a sexist coment just because I'm a guy and tell them that the women don't need to cover up and then continue to ask why. I think it's completely sexist that guys can't wear thongs when they offer better support, read the post about it somewhere on this board, and a lot more practical, wear as a woman only wears it really as eye candy! If you ask me, women don't even need to wear underwear .. The only time they need to is when it's that time of the month. They don't need any support down there. Also, a guy who wears boxers doesn't even need to wear underwear except as another fasion item! Offers no support whatsoever. Thong it up! But like the post said, eye candy > practical.. What's the world coming to?

I went to wet & wild in Orlando on 6-16-05 with my wife and daughter.  I did not see any thongs on men or women.  I did however count 13 Rio back bikinis on women.  I whore a 1 inch speedo for part of the day and also whore my Rio bikini for part of the day.  I did hear one negative remark while wearing my Rio.  A young girl yelled out to everyone to look at the fag in the bikini.  I guess she was too busy looking at the bikini to notice the wedding ring.  I just ignored her and went on about my business.  I did notice about a hundred brazilian styled bikinis on women.  There were about a dozen men in speedo styled bikinis.

Finally managed to get to wet n wild a few weeks ago, and it was one of the hottest days of that week, the temperature actually topped 102!!  I took a thong, but as I only wear items of clothing which I personally feel are appropriate and wore my black slide back thong.  Which gives the best of both worlds.  So when your queing up you can have a 3/4 back but when you get on the ride itself you move it into a thong.  If you have never done a water slide in a thong, its fast!!

looked around and most of the young girls where in string sided bikins, and men in traditional long shorts.  Did catch a few girls in brazillian back bikins and 2 girls in modest thongs.  The closet a man got was a speedo full back. I had many admiring looks from the girls, and a few sniggered whilst I was in the queues, but no negative shouts, calls etc.

Got a great tan on my bum!!

sorry guys I forgot to answer

it was great, I was in my Wicked Weasel 475 in Berry color string back, I enjoyed wearing it all day, didn't have any problems, a couple people told me it was a very nice suit.

There was a group of 14-15 yr old black girls that walked by me and pointed/laughed until the only guy in the group said "I think it actually looks good" then they got mad at him and I was laughing ! oh and waiting in line for a ride, there are 2 lines for 2 different rides going up the same set of stairs and a kid on the other side was staring at my ass and didn't realize the line had moved and his older sister (about 16-17) said "stop looking at her ass and start moving" in a funny way, then his other sister (around 20yrs old) said yeah well she souldnt be dressed like that anyway, to which I replied "why not" and she just looked down and kept walking .... she was wearing shorts and a shirt over her brassiere bikini top .........

Unfortunately I was the only person ina thong that I saw that day (we stayed from park open to close) I saw a lot of Brazilian Bikinis but no other thong.

I definitely enjoyed it, especially with a WW, they are like a second skin !

I was there a couple weeks ago during my vacation, I wore my black spandex "booty shorts" with a thong underneath, there wasn't anyone in a thong there on that day either,  I decided to play it safe and keep my shorts on that day. Much to my surprise, I still got a few strange looks from the teenagers, I wish that I had the courage to wear a thong at the crowded waterpark, but the odds were definitely stacked against me.

Well, I just returned from a trip to Orlando and the Walt Disney World parks. While there I spent a day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. Apparently old Walt was a big supporter of the thong. OK, I only saw one while I was there, but there was seemed to be no problem with the young ladiy's attire. There's some good news for any of you that may have been wondering. And, now I know to pack mine for the next trip.

Happy Thonging to all.

I think both you and she were lucky. You lucky to see her, and she lucky that the staff didn't ask her to change.

Although I couldn't find it on Disney's new website, in the past I have read that they do have a policy banning thong swimsuits at their water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. It's all about enforcement: the staff look the other way (or enjoy the view) of young ladies, but would probably ask a male thonger to cover up.

Apparently, Wet-n-Wild really does allow thong swimsuits on either gender, though if you read their policies they reserve the right to ask thongers to cover up if other patrons complain.

First off, Andrea, I am glad to see the pics I took at Typhoon Lagoon getting some more publicity. The woman in the pictures was happy to have me taking the shots of her. Said she liked the attention her swimsuit was getting for her.  Second, I recently e-maild Walt Disney World, and I was told they do not allow thongs at the water parks because they are a family oriented operation. Geez, maybe I should send them these pics and see what they say.

Everyone have a great day.

Good Pictures.  I have always wanted to do a water park in a thong.  Maybe I can find some close to where I live.

One question.  Were any of the girls topless, or just in thongs?  That is a dynamite combination.  Usually if one is allowed the other is as well, although not always.

Went to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach recently...saw one woman in a thong, plenty of women with brazil bikini's or tanga (almost-thong) backs. This time of year it seems like 80% of the visitors are from the UK and there were a fair amount of guys in speedos (maybe 1 in 30).

We're off to Orlando in March and we're hoping to go to Wet N Wild and I'll definitely be wearing my thong while there.    I don't know if my wife will wear hers, she's kinda shy but I don't have that problem, lol.     Last year, we went to Canada's Wonderland which had a waterpark and I wore a small bikini style swimsuit which I thought was very conservative (for me) and my wife told me I had plenty of looks.    Just imagine if I had worn my thong, lol.    Probably would have been kicked out.    While in Orlando, we'll be driving to whichever coast we feel like visiting that particular day to enjoy the sun and water, can't wait to visit the Skinz outlet store in Clearwater.

I went to Typhoon Lagoon last year with my wife.  My wife tricked me into wearing my blue speedo thong all day. (while she wore a very conservative bikini)

When we first arrived, we rented a locker to put our stuff in.  I was wearing my speedo thong under a pair of nylon shorts, which I intended to wear over the top throughout the day.  As my wife was putting our things in the locker, she pointed at my shorts and said give me your coverup.  At first I resisted, then thought I'd give her a little thrill and take the shorts off real fast, just to shock her that I actually did it, and throw them back on and go on our way.  Well, as soon as I pulled the shorts down, she snatched them out of my hand, threw them in the locker, and started walking away with the key.  So there I was, in open view surrounded by crowds of people, in nothing but my blue speedo thong with absolutely no way to cover up or hide.  My heart was racing!  I considered running for the bathroom, but it was a ways away.  Finally, after recieving a few smiles, I decided what the hell and headed for the slides to catch up with my wife.  I pleaded with her to give me the key, but she refused.  After a couple trips up and down the slides, my heart had stopped and I was getting used to it.  After that, the remainder of the day was great--even though my ass was on display for the entire time.  I only took about an hour before I all but forgot that I was running around in public in nothing but a thong!!!

Oh, I did see one other thong that day--on a woman.

Re:Orlando's waterparks ( Wet-n-Wild, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, etc.)

Over the MLK holiday, I was at Wet 'n Wild for a few hours before my train left. The park was filled with a combination of local middle school kids who had the day off and foreigners (mostly Europeans) families, and American families. Most of the foreign men were in square cut, tight shorts; however, none were in briefs. I saw one lady who had the rear of her bikini bottom tucked in to expose some cheek. There was another lady who had a pseudo-thong, where cheek was exposed but not the crack. I counted about three middle school, Hispanic girls wearing bikinis with Brazilian backs.

The entire time, I wore a modest Skinz M14 thong, covering up with a towel as I was walking from slide to slide, and then leaving my towel and glasses in some place near a slide exit as I climbed the stairs to the top of the slide. For the most part, no one seemed to care or notice I was wearing a thong, with the exception of a few middle school, American girls giggling while they were waiting in line behind me. I did talk with a few people, mostly foreigners. It seemed like to them, I was just wearing a typical swimsuit.

If you've been to the park, a few rides require at least two riders on a raft. As I was going towards one of those rides, I asked a random woman in her upper 30s walking towards the same ride if I could ride on the raft with her. Without hesitation, she said yes. While waiting in line, I learned that she was a local and had her 13 year old son and his friends in the park who completely dissociated himself from her and was all alone. We talked mostly about our jobs, and my visit to Florida.

After going down the first slide together, she offered to take me through the remaining slides that required at least two riders. One of them, she said kind of freaked her out; however, she offered me still and told me why she was doing this. It was very kind of her, and I thanked her afterwards. I wonder if she was so kind because of my thong.

Now, I'm back in DC, back in the cold, wearing long pants and a long shirt for running gear. I can't wait for pool season to open in May.

Re:Orlando's waterparks ( Wet-n-Wild, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, etc.)

I went to Wet N Wild for the first time on Saturday. For those who don't know, in the winter months they are very weather dependent as to if they will be open. So it's best to call in the morning before heading there. It seems that if it's sunny and over 70 degrees they will open, but anything less than that and they will stay closed. Of the five days I was in Orlando Saturday was the only day they were open.

I did not see anyone in thongs anywhere in the park, man or woman. As such I did not feel comfortable being the only one wearing one. Thus I chickened out and wore a red speedo unlined with full back coverage. There were probably a dozen other adult males and kids in speedos, and probably another ten or so men in square tights (mostly older men). On the women's side I saw about 5-10 females with brazilian or tanga backs, including one girl of about 13 wearing the smallest tanga, it probably was only 1-2" wide ... just enough to cover the crack.

That said a little later in the day I went up to the sunning deck where nobody else was up there and I sunbathed for about an hour or two in my Skinz M14 thong. I guess there were a few people high up on an adjacent ride that could see me but it was far away. I didn't receive any calls or whistles, but I did notice some people staring at me at the top of the ride before they went down.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden inn. Most of the time the pool & hot tub were empty so I swam in a Skinz string thong those times. One time there were a few people around the pool fully clothed so I chickened out again and wore the red speedo again.

I visited Wet 'N Wild several times back in the mid 1990's and wore a thong each time. No problems at all. I did not go on the slides. It was relaxing to enjoy the warm sun and breeze while wearing a thong. I would enjoy going there again and may go again when I have time.

More people should wear thongs or g-strings when swimming or sunning. Your body type should not make any difference. Not everyone is muscular or a model.

Good point eimeo my other question is how often do people wear thongs to wet-n-wild? I plan to go in the spring maybe around May might have worked up the nerve by then. I figure for a woman it is easier but being a straight and rather muscular guy it might not go over quite so well. Besides being a black male makes me standout anyway don't want to be all over the internet afterward.

As much as I'd like to wear a thong at the water parks, I can't imagine doing so. I figure if it's going to be something that's going to draw extra attention to myself and the people I'm with, then the focus isn't really on relaxing and having fun anymore. I'm going to be hitting the waterparks in small Japanese-style speedos this summer...I've seen a few there before and I'm in better physical shape than most of the guys wearing them. If I was going with a group of people that all wore thongs, with the mission of "thongifying" wet-n-wild, that would be a different thing.

Just got back from Disney World & got to go to Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach. I had a Skinz Lined Bravura Thong in the meltdown color under my white nylon cover up shorts that I was planning to wear all day.  My wife was in a one peice w/a rio back &  she kept telling me to leave my cover up on, & to look around there was no one else in a thong or rio & very few in speedos. She was worried about being asked to cover up since she had a suit with a rio back.  We had a blast at both water parks but we saw no thongs & a few rios & speedos.  More than couple of times when getting out of the water or off a ride my coverup slid down & my thong was clearly visible, no one said anything but I know other guests clearly saw what I had on, & once my coverup was wet it was very transparent & you definately could see my thong as the cover up clinged to my body.  As I was getting out of the water after riding the Storm Slide the female life guard that is positioned at the stairs said nice suit & smiled, Im guessing she could see my thong clearly since my cover up would clinging to my body.  With all the familys there & Disney being a family vacation destination it may be hard for to get away wearing a thong at the water parks.  But we did have a great time!

Rockys, thanks for the report. Next time you go you should check out Wet N' Wild instead. Your suit would have been perfectly fine there as there's alot more speedos, rios and the occasional thonger.
