This past March our family was at Wet n Wild and I didn't wear my thong as I thought I would.    Unfortunately I didn't see anything that was even slightly provocative, so I kept on my shorts when walking around or on the slides.    I did thong when I was sunning near the pool area, but that was it.     As a thonging experience, it was quite disappointing.

Hey has anybody been to wet n wild lately? And if so was there alot of people in speedos, rio back, or thongs? I'm planning on visiting soon and was planning to wear the muscleskin mp or mpx full bottom or rio back suit. Right now I'm leaning toward the mpx with the rio back suit but haven't fully decided just yet any info would be greatly appreciated.

Early november is usually good sunning weather in Orlando, but short days and more chancy later in the month. Let us know how you fare in a thong.

Well I finally did it today.  Went to wet n wild and went down the rides in a skinz blue thong.  What a buzz!  Got there late afternoon, and put a pair of cover shorts on, and headed for a ride called storm.  Its a ride which you go down a tube very quickly into a bowl, and my aim is to get the most revolutions before dropping out of the bottom into a plunge pool.

Well climbed the stairs and noticed there was only about 10 people behind me, i walked forward and said to the lifeguard, its about time this ride went extreme and pulled my shorts off (with a cheeky grin of cause), she laughed and said 'fantastic, go for it'.  I went down quicker than I ever had before, man its fast, and I managed to get 7 revolutions out of it.  Got out of the plunge pool, where there are always people hanging around at the bottom of the ride waiting for family and friends, I casually walked over and put the shorts back on.  There were quite a few double takes and smiles.

I then went back up the ride again, and the lifeguard shouted 'back for more, I like your style'.  I got to the front, again pulled the shorts off, and this time got 8 out of it.  You may be asking why I put the shorts back on.  Well the ride looks over International drive and didn't want my bum causing an accident and getting a ticket, lol.

Will be back again before the end of the week, so if I get any more experiences I will let you know.

Went again today to wet n wild, and plucked up the courage to go on the Bomb Bay.  If you don't know what this ride is, its an 80ft vertical drop water slide, where you stand in a small box and the operator releases the plinth of wood you stand on and you drop.  Done it in shorts before, but this time in a thong.  Man it was fast and is definately not for the faint hearted.  Had to do it again as the buzz was unreal!!

Has anybody else done this ride, and if so in a thong?      Lifeguards are so cool about thongs.  So nice to see.

CM, glad to hear you're enjoying your holiday here in the States.  Your adventures sound awesome.  And I'll bet you're charming the ladies with your British accent!  I've never even been to a water park, much less in a thong, but you're sure making it sound like fun and I may just have to try it.  My guess is you're a young chap.  Harder for an old guy like me to pull off such a stunt.  Speaking of which (pulling off, that is), when you pull your shorts off to ride the slides, where do you stowe them so they're handy to pull back on at the finish?  Just hold them in your fist?

Has anyone recently worn a thong when visiting Wet 'N Wild? Have not been there in at least 12 or 13 years but may go in June. I wore a thong at that time without any problem and would enjoy going again. Maybe I will ride on a water slide and experience going down the slide in nothing but a thong!

I'm going to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach in a few days, I'll be wearing some small speedos but that's about it.  More comfortable than dork shorts and not too out of place.  I have some short aussiebum coverup shorts...I may wear those with a muscleskins thong underneath.

I was at both Disney waterparks this weekend...oh man, if you want to have a good time, find out when the hordes of tour groups from Brazil are going to Disney World!    Our hotel pool?  Plenty of guys in little speedos.  The water parks?  Lots of very pretty women in little tiny bikinis.  A handful of thongs and lots of small almost-thongs.  It was fun to stand in lines with them.  A few different times a girl would look down at my suit, smile, and say something to me in Portugese which of course I didn't understand.  Judging from facial expressions though it was something positive.

On day 2 I wore my new Brazilian "sunga" which is like a speedo with 4" sides, but cut so it sits low on the hips and the fabric is supposed to bunch up a little..  It has a lot of stretchy room in front so when you get out of the water it's very clingy and even with the pattern as camoflage you need a lot of confidence to wear it.  I wore a small swim thong underneath it to retain some modesty.   I didn't want to be showing any details in a family environment.

Anyway...normally I don't like the big South American tour groups clogging the lines at the theme parks, but at the water parks it's quite a different matter!

Flnkdguy, if my wife and I ever get to Florida (she's never been and not too anxious), your report suggests it will have to include a visit to a water park.  Would be a new adventure for me, and sounds like fun.  I'm not sure what I'd wear.  Some on this board have worn thongs on the slides, which might work if coupled with a pair of shorts for a coverup between events.  My list of 'things you've got to do at least once in your life' keeps growing, thanks to all the great reports on this board.

I used to think these kinds of adventures are just for young guys, who can get away with it.  But just yesterday, while thonging at a crowded local beach, it hit me:  at 64, I'm approaching my second childhood.  What works at 20 ought to work at 65, even if not at 35 or 50.  The young guys often get a pass for outrageous behavior because they're experimenting with life and will grow out of it and become decent citizens.  At 65, you remember you come this way only once, you've put in your time as a decent citizen, now it's time to catch up with those adventures missed along the way.  You'll be forgiven because you're a daft old guy who no longer knows any better!

Does that theory work?  I'm ready to try.  Actually, I did try, at 63, at Bay to Breakers, and my wife didn't give me a pass.  Maybe next year, after I officially turn senior at 65.  Age has got to have some privileges.

Water parks are great fun.  I love going to the beach and relaxing, but it's also good to do something more active.  Water parks are more social too, talking to people while waiting in line and so on.  I didn't go to one until I was 40, so it's never too late to start!   The more extreme rides usually involve lots of stairs (the rides run on gravity and falling water) but there's other activities that don't.

If you want to see if women do wear thongs to waterparks, have a look at Ana in the latest Wicked Weasel Contributor section. I'd love to find that mermaid at Wet'N'Wild any day!
If I'm not mistaken (which I may well be) that looks suspiciously like Wet'N'Wild on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

I've been living in Florida for over 3 years now, and I've always wanted to try thonging at Wet n' Wild.  So I tried it for the first time yesterday!  It was both great and disappointing at the same time.  First off, it was a nice day (little windy, but that didn't bother me).  Park was maybe 1/3 full and I was the only thonger there (although some nice rio's on some girls).  I changed in the mens room and walked out in just my thong.  I carried my towel, and never used it for a cover up.  I spent about 3 hours there - only road the single person slides.  The "Storm" ride (the one that looks like a toilet bowl) is definitely way faster in a thong.  You can see from the top of the slide into the bowl, and I watched each person do maybe 2 or 3 revolutions before falling in.  I did probably 5 or 6 revolutions, and I had to put my hand out to slow myself down and fall in!  The stairs for the Storm slide are in the far corner of the park overlooking international drive.  That was intense - being about 50 feet in the air above a busy, 4 lane road with crowds in nothing but a thong.
The reason I was a little disappointed was because it was all too good.  I was out in a thong for three hours and there was literally no comments (either good or bad).  I've gone to the beach dozens of times, and I always get comments - some good, some bad.  I take the bad with a grain of salt and the good makes me feel exhilarated.  At Wet n' Wild I felt pretty much totally accepted.  The lifeguards were all very cool with my thong.  I walked around the pool a lot and no one said anything (a couple looks, that's all).  So if you're looking for a relaxing place to thong without the hassle - then I highly recommend a day at Wet n' Wild.  If you've got more of an exhibitionist streak - then I'd say stick to the beach.

Encouraging to read cyberluc's report. I have liked wearing thongs for over 20 years but rarely have the opportunity. I thonged alone at Wet-n-Wild twice back in the mid 1990's and really enjoyed relaxing in a thong and feeling the warm Florida sun and breeze against my skin. Never used my towel as a cover up when walking out of the men's changing area and through the park. No hassles from anyone. A little awkward walking by a uniformed security person while wearing a thong but no problem. I may thong there again sometime even though I will be 47 (but not overweight and out of shape) this year. It is unfortunate that some beaches, pools, and water parks do not allow thongs and g-strings. The human body is something to be proud of, enjoy, and celebrate (regardless of one's appearance), especially outside in warm weather.

I am just back to upstate NY from a trip to Kissimmee, FL. I spent one day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, and though I was not wearing a thong, I did notice 5 or so women wearing them. Two of which could have passed for a mother/daughter pairing. Anyway, Disney is still very accepting of many styles of swimwear.

I would bring an extra suit if you want to wear a thongat Typhoon Lagoon. Ive only been a few times, and decided to wear one the last time I went about a year and a half ago when I saw another girl in one the week before. No body said anything for over an hour, but then a lifegaurd asked me to cover up and told me thongs were not allowed. Late in the day the lifegaurd at the top of the kowabunga slide (the really high one with the 3 slides) told me I could take off my shorts because the people complaining had left the park. I guess the policy is no thongs, but the lifegaurds look the other way unless someone complains.

I've read that you could wear thongs to 'Wet N Wild' and the Disney waterpark.

But does anyone know if you can wear them to Discovery Cove?   What about Sea World's new water park, called Aquatica?
Has anyone tried thonging at these places?

Discovery Cove is nice, almost like beach at an actual beach/water park. Great place to get a tan in the summer because it gets really hot, and then you have the salt water pool with the marine animals swimming around, so it is like being at a beach.

I just checked discovery Coves website. It doesnt really give any specifics. Just says swim suits. But it could probly go either way. Being that it's attached and part of Aquatica probly not allowed. But also, since it is by "reservation" only, and done in small individual family groups, who is to complain but the park employees.
The park regs say that you have to either wear a wetsuit or life preserver so that you can be seen by life guards. And from experiance, it's easier to where a wet suit either with a thong or nude.

Just got back from Orlando last night.  My wife and I spent the morning at Blizzard Beach Park, before getting onto the plane to get a shock to the system (60 degrees Celsius or 108 degrees F difference).

Due to some of the posts on this board, we decided to go conservative and not wear our thongs.  We only saw one girl in one, and she was even wearing a long white t-shirt that covered most of her butt.  I wore a 1" Speedo solar while my wife wore a rio styled suit.  I saw about 5 other speedos, and a few square cuts around.  I wanted to change into my thong, but decided to stay covered up.

Great park for slides, and the speedo makes you go even faster on the slides.  Got a couple of nice comments from the female life guards, especially those that weren't Americans.  We had a great time there and would definitely go back.

We stayed at the Palms resort, where I did wear my Male Power cutaway thong one evening around the pool, just before closing time.  However, lots of red-neck, shorts below the knee types around there because of the cheap price of the hotel.  Next time we will definitely upgrade the hotel and hopefully stay someplace where there might be more European influence or guests.

what kind of comments did you get? I myself have worn a speedo solar to the same water park 2 times. First time it was a black one, the second a light blue. Each time there were a dozen or so European guys wearing briefs as well. I would get some looks and double takes but never heard a comment, especially one directed to me.

Here's the policy from the Wet'N'Wild on the Gold Coast, Australia.

"You are welcome to wear whatever swimwear you're comfortable in while using the slides and pools and Wet'n'Wild. While riding the Twister some people find that not wearing a t-shirt allows you to slide at a greater speed. T-shirts do not affect speeds on other attractions.Wet'n'Wild Water World supports safe fun in the sun, so no matter what swimwear you choose wear remember to wear a hat while out of the water and to reapply your sunscreen every two hours."

Maybe you guys should come for a visit!

That policy is very interesting.
"no matter what swimwear you choose" can obviously include a thong.
Thongmad, have you tested the policiy 'in situ'?  Or do you know of anyone who has?

A couple of years ago me and  my family went to Whitewaters (next to Dream World).  A bit smaller than Wet'nWild, but better for small children.    I wore a conventional speedo and believe me I was the only one at that time wearing something "so" brief.  EVERYONE else (men) were wearing board shorts.  And the girls, apart from a young blonde wearing a string bikini that became almost a thong, most women wore very boring suits.   I could capture some attention of old and young ladies which was a bit flattering taking into account that I was riding the slides with a 7 y/o boy, but thought then 'what would the reaction be if I was wearing a thong', and my answer to myself was "better not".  Yes, I chickened out, very understandable though.

Four years ago we went to Cairns, and at the water park over there (forgot its name) my wife had to go the car and get me a pair of shorts because what I was wearing then a string rio bikini caught too much attention from people, especially those big fat fathers with beer guts wearing long board shorts.   I said to myself "welcome to Far North QLD".

Looking retrospectively, I think that I should have stuck to a rio bikini on both ocassions.  I'm sure that the policiy at the Cairns water park should have read something very similar to the Wet 'n Wild policy.  And if you are following the rules, you shouldn't permit anyone harrassing you because of your swim suit.

but I still think that wearing a thong might not be very appropriate anyway.  Too many children, too much on the face of people.  Don't know.

They said she got alot of stares, too. Everyone else wore the regular American swimwear. If anyone else has been have you seen any this year? thx!!

Morena, I went yesterday and saw about 5 women in thongs and about 25 in skimpy rio bottomed suits. I think that you get more of a European crowd in Orlando, so that is why there were soo many skimpy suits. You will not be the only one wearing a thong there, so I say go for it.

Ok, there are 2 posts about the Orlando waterparks..... but I will add it here ok.

Well I have some news, I went to Blizzard Beach  yesterday (August 1st), for the first time!!! And on the way there I wore a thong bikini, the one that you can slide into a bikini or slide back out. When we got in line for the ticket booth I asked the lady if we could wear thongs, and she said she didnt know and to ask the lady selling the tickets.  I didn't want to ask... but when she gave us a map of the water park, there was a short FAQ section. As far as swim attire goes, it only said to not wear swim suits with rivets, exposed metal, and something else, but it never said anything about thongs/g-strings. So when i get to my locker i kept my thong bikini on, and walked away without my coverup to to cover my bottoms. I thought to myself "oh, well if any of the lifeguards or park staff complain I will just change without a problem since I brought extra bikinis...".

Ok, anyway, well I was GLAD that  wore the thong!!!! Because there were 3 other young ladies wearing it, and then i saw several brazilian bikinis and almost-thongs as well. I was really surprised, because I thought that thongs wouldn't be allowed. And Its my very first time wearing one to a waterpark. When standing in line for the slides, no one complanied, not even parents, the kids didn't care, didnt make any comments, and well no one cared really. Several men in line enjoyed the view of course LOL especially on the tobogan ride. The only ones that seemd to care were young teenage girls, and a few of them rolled thier eyes but thats it. I didn't get any bad comments form anyone the whole day.  I was really worried about the parents because there were so many kids, and then its DISNEY but no one cared or let it bother them at all.  I also saw several men and young kids with speedo shorts or bikini-style bottoms on., even the really low cut style ones. As far as i know they didnt get any funny looks or mean comments at all either.

I assume that thongs are very acceptable because other ladies wore it, and I was there the whole day and the park staff, lifeguards, people operating the slides never said anything about the attire... and it was excellent to wear a thong to the park, very great. on a HOT day a that too.

Ok, well thats my report!!! thx

I am going to Wet N Wild next week, but I may go to a Disney park instead now. Did you get any pics ? I'm taking my camera :)

I think we're going to Typhoon Lagoon, my brother is currently visiting and he said it looks like he prefers TL to Blizzard Beach.  I hope my experience will be the same as yours.

Do you have a pic of what your suit looks like, I am thinking of wearing a black WW 456 string back with a black WW 334 bandeau top, or maybe white 455 or 456 bottom with red bandeau top, but wonder if the WW would be too much (or I should say, not enough).

Yes, i took pics but i didn't take any back shots at the park..... but i could still show you..I have pictures of the back of the suit at a pool at my friend's condo.  Well i had the smallest suit in the park, their thongs were a little more modest, not showing THAT much crack lol.

I would rather go to typhoon lagoon too because they have the snorkel pool. I liked how blizzard beach had more slides but i think the best slide there was the one in the dark, and of course the summit plummet.

Yes, i know its not a "thong" the way the model is wearing it, but it can be worn 2 ways: Normal, like the model, or pushed all the way back into a thong and i had mine pushed into a thong the whole day. Mine's a size small, which cant fit my butt anyway, lol. so it couldnt stay normal anyway

eimeo, my wife owns tons of 456's.  While i am always a big fan of women in small swimsuits, I would caution against the 456 at a water park. Seriously, the suit is tiny!!  Wearing the 456 would have you come off as a complete exibitionist (as opposed to a women simply enjoying the day in a small suit).  I actually think it would dampen the experience (and possibly even have the park request you to change).   Why risk spoiling the day by taking a change like that.   My general opinion...there is a major difference between a thong and a G.  While i looooove G's on the beach (they are what my wife wears 90% of the time), i think in a public venue like a water park, they would be percieved much differently than a thong.

My suggestion, go with the body glove thong.  It will still be the sexiest suit in the park, but will not raise anywhere near the ire of if you wore one of wicked weasels smallest g-strings.

cool ! I'm glad she likes it :)
I used to love the 457 but not so much anymore, I don't think it "fits" me right anymore. I wish they made one that was a size between the 456 and the 457 in width, that would be perfect. Until then I just wear 456s :)

Stanpuppy: what is the exact difference between a thong and a G-string? You say there's a big difference, and I'm not sure what the difference is at all. Please enlighten me!

Thanks in advance!

G-string - single string connecting the crotch of the suit to the waist.  Typically about 1/8th of an inch (or less) wide
Thong - larger piece of fabric (often times with a complete triangle of fabric) that connects the crotch to the waist. Usually an inch wide (or wider).

Believe me...they are percieved very differently by the vast majority of the population.  My wife will often wear thongs at hotel pools because she "thinks g-strings are not appropriate" for that particular venue.  Obviously eimeo agrees based on her comments.

I forgot to check back.....

Wow, i like your suits. I agree, i think the g-string will be a little too much for BB/TL. Its more appropriate for Wet n Wild and the beach. But then again i have no idea how far they will let u go as far as swimsuit attire and the Disney waterparks. Like how small. Mine showed the most skin and I didnt have a problem all day.
But I think the body glove or the one that looks like boyshorts would be fine.

SO when r u going to Wet N Wild cuz i havent gone there yet?? Been wanting to go ALL summer. me and my bf were actually supposed to go to wet n wild last wkend but decided to try Blizzard Beach instead.

I go to the Disney waterparks a lot.  This summer there have been a lot of 'almost thongs', especially among foreign women (South America) which is great.    I think a g-string would not be looked on favorably but a thong on a woman is probably OK as long as it's not too revealing...it is Disney, right?   I always wear smaller speedos or a scrunchy sunga and while I'm in the minority of course it's almost always positive in terms of acceptance and comments I get.  A thong on a guy would of course be very unusual there...

yeah that's what I am afraid of at TL or BB, it's that most of the "thongs" there are not really thongs just small brazilians or sliders that can be adjusted to cover a bit more if needed, the back ups I posted are the biggest suits I own, I'd feel comfortable in the Body Glove suit or even the WW ones, but I don't think I'll be able to stay in them all day at TL ...... I might go to WnW after all ................

Morena, were the other girls you saw wearing real thongs or same style suit as you ?

stanpuppy, is your wife only looking for 457s ? I have a few WW suits I'm going to list on ebay soon, a lot are brand new with tags never worn, but no 457 that I can tell.

Let me know when they go up.  We currently have 2 of your cast offs (both 457's) and she loves them
