So at what point is it time to throw away old wornout thongs? I have quite a few that i no longer wear because the elastic in the waist band is worn out, or the seams from frint to back are worn and torn. Some of my older favorite ones have hole in the material around the waist band. I still wear those ones when im just staying home and working around the house. I dont want to wear those ones to go out in incase they ride up and can be seen. That, to me, would be a really bad look, even if im just running to lowes or something.  The old saying that guys wear their underware for ever, holes, no more elestic, etc etc, just doesnt seem to go along with thongs and g's.
What do you guys think? Do you have old favorite ones that you just dont want to throw out even though you dont wear them any more?

The only thongs I've retired have been thongs with a metallic finish, which I've found does not hold up in the wash very well at all. The finish starts to wear off and then the appeal of the whole reason why I bought them in the first place (the metallic finish) is gone. Aside from those, I have yet to "wear out" a thong. I've got string thongs from Skinzwear that I bought back in the early 2000's that are still looking great, though they are very well made and I paid the Skinzwear premium price for that. But I think if the finish is wearing off, or if you start to see threads unraveling or any sign of holes beginning to show, it's time to retire it. I have a few string thongs that I made the mistake of wearing them with body oil and the oil decreased the elasticity in the strings, so they fit slightly looser around the waist but they still work. But I like to keep my thongs looking fairly new, so if I see any sort of wear I'd rather just throw one out and order a new one than to try to get extra mileage out of it.

Here's an article on a new thong style-- we've known it as the Japanese "too small" style- worn below the ass creases like bottom of a jock.   https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/5474760/builders-bum-knickers-are-now-a-thing-and-we-dont-know-a-single-woman-whod-be-seen-dead-in-them/

Looks like they copied Mategear's designs.

Sailor,  my wife actually purchased one of these as a joke because she has a friend who teases her for wearing her micro’s so she bought one of these. So when it came in and she tried it on this bottom doesn’t cover much and when she was facing away from my the see straps went under her butt and if she bent over everything is in view, not sure if it could even be worn as legally as a G-string because even a G-string covers a little bit of the hole and this didn’t
