I ordered a variety of thongs/gstrings from Valerie's Something Wild in CA Ebay store.
Her designs were nice, but I had her modify a couple of the designs to better fit my style. I am talking about her diamond back thong/gstring. It has a small triangle on the back (smaller than the HOM plume string). The front of the original diamond back thong was a bit larger than I wanted and the strap that goes through the bottom was a bit short. I asked Valerie if she could modify her design to my specifications making the front pouch 2" narrower on the top and making the string in the bum 1/2" longer. She said no problem.

I got my order today and they are AWESOME! Closest thing to perfect that I have tried. I did have some of the stitching come loose on one of my original thongs from her and when I made her aware of that, she replaced it FREE of charge. I have worn & washed all of the others and they seem to be holding up very nicely.

If you order from her and want my special design...tell her the diamond back thong in the Bryan from NC cut. She should know what you are talking about.Bryan

It's nice to hear stories like these. Good service from people as passionate about thonging as the people wearing them.

The only bad side on these thongs is the way she joins the straps at the front of the pouch.  She terminates the ends of the straps and sews them to the top two corners of the front pouch.  I suggested her making the straps one continuous strap joining at the center of the back triangle.   Just ordered another 8 pair from her with the new strap design.  Can't wait to get them in!

The easiest way to get in touch with her is through her ebay store.  Something Wild in CA.  Or you can do a search for men's thongs on ebay and her thongs will appear.  She has a normal website www.something-wild-in-california.com her email address is something_wild@sbcglobal.net

It will take her a day to respond to you email.  she usually only checks it once a day in the mornings before she starts to sew.

Be sure to tell her to make the Bryan in NC style of the Diamond back thong.  You will not be dissappointed.  She is currently making me some samples of a rio back bikini as well as a Y back thong/gstring.  Can't wait to get those in and see how they fit.

I have nearly a 100 thongs and now some gstrings from her.  She constantly modifies her designs to my specifications and I LOVE them all.  With the exception of a few loose threads, no problems at all.  Just about all I wear anymore.

Not sure if she is on vacation or not.  I just placed another order this morning for more thongs & rio backs made with a heavier lycra material.  Hopefully, they will be good enough to wear swimming at the lake.  I sent her the email this am, and she hasn't responded yet.  Usually, she checks her email once a day.  If you don't hear back from her, send her another email and she will get back to you.

It is my understanding that she does ALL of the work herself.  I have been totally satisfied with her work and she has been great to work with as far as modifying her current cuts/styles to suite my needs.  EVERY suggestion that I have made to her to make her products better she has done which has made an already good product even better.  And you can't beat her prices.  If you can be patient on her deliveries, you will be most happy with her goods.  If you order one of her styles and want it modified on your next order, just let her know and she will take care of it.

I have two g-strings from Something Wild.   They are OK as underwear, but the waistbands are non-covered elastic.  Her website is pretty much underwear oriented, and I wouldn't expext my g's to stay on in the pool.

Yes, www.swicthongs.com website is the same person as Something Wild in California.

I have some from several years ago (when she was in CA, now in PA).  They are of good quality but definitely made as underwear rather than underwear (the elastic bands are not covered).  She does accept custom orders (such as covered waistbands) with a one time charge.  I like the feel of her thongs as they all have a tapered wedge underneath to minimize the butt-floss effect.

I like her stuff too.  I have a few thongs of hers, including backless.I had been curious how people feel her stuff compares to the bigger companies.BTW-  she has stuff with covered waistbands too, I have worn them to the beach. In particular the thong with clips on the side - easy to remove without without getting muddy from muddy feet, or while sitting....the backless one on my profile is her work.

How "tall" are the pouches?  I'm used to a Dore very low thong- that's 4 inches from back/bottom of the pouch to the top- the SWIC thongs look like they're at least 6 or 7 inchs.  Anyone have one to measure?

I'm shaved so it doesn't matter but the taller pouches just don't look" modern" to me.

They make custom thongs and swimwear for men and woman at very reasonable prices.  I ordered a bunch this past summer and couldn't be more pleased.  Great quality, selection, options and service. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Yeah, I know.  That's where they're based (PA).  But I don't think that name would have the same curb appeal.  LOL.  Good stuff though.  I especially like that you can choose pouch sizes/styles and that they offer a Y-back for men, as it's the most comfortable back for me.

Just re-discovered this manufacturer this summer. The quality and customer service is great. She even has a "make your own thong" feature and encourages customers to make special requests. I have found a great source in this country for the very low, rio back bikinis that I like for wearing when I can't wear G-strings or thongs. I have made three orders from her this summer.
Her customer service is wonderful. I just received an order and two of the suits didn't fit right. I sent her an e-mail explaining this and she replied almost immediately. Seems that she knew that one of them was mistakenly made for another customer and the other was due to the fact that I had requested the same lowering of the suit using a fabric with little stretch as I had previously with much more stretchy fabric. She explained how difficult it was to adjust suits with different stretch fabrics and will replace both. She even suggested that I switch the fabric to spandex to improve the chances that it will fit exactly the same as before. I did.

This company is fairly close to where I live.  I was hoping they had a retail venue, but they are mail order only.  Customer service is exceptional...they will make anything you want.  I ordered a couple of teardrops to match my wifes Malibu strings suits.  The quality was more like underwear, so I ended up ordering from Skinzwear, although I did think the stuff from the PA supplier was very nice

Skinzwear makes good stuff, they're just a bit on the $$ side.  Hard to order a bunch of anything when everything costs that much.  Their custom charges are steep.  But good stuff.  For custom I like Ron at Buffedbod.com, excellent work, good communication, reasonable cost for custom.  I'll post the comparison when I get the SWIC stuff.  I got a custom and a couple of off-the-racks.

I have been dealing with SWIC for years, and been very satisfied.  Valeria started the company in CA, moved to PA several years ago, and has just now moved again to FL.  Her husband also sells her stuff on e-bay store 'captaincamo88', and there is a web site www.swicthongs.com.   I like her backless G-strings.

Re:Something Wild in California SWIC

I bought a backless g-string and a teardrop g-string from her.  The backless she sent has a ring on it to help hold it on.  Unfortunately the pouch was too large -- not too large for "me" but it made a funny look together with the ring, plus you end up with a relatively large suit that covers a lot more skin than it needed to.  Val is very helpful and re-made the suit for me in a smaller and lower size.  The pouch on the new version was much better and covered a lot less skin, but on this version she omitted the ring.  The revised version is great as long as you don't move around much, but I think the best solution would be the smaller version WITH the ring.  I am thinking the suit could be smaller yet, with the ring, and add a piece of velcro so the top of the ring could connect to the upper line of the suit, thus completing the pouch.  But I hate to ask her to revise the suit yet again.
The teardrop g-string is very nice, in fact it is incredibly comfortable -- as underwear.  I don't think I'd wear it as a swimsuit, even though it's Lycra, because the straps are not as robust as those from Dore or Skinz.  My Dore suit is equally small but stays on.  The SWIC teardrop comes off in my pool.  I could get a smaller size but I don't think that is the problem, the problem is that SWIC's straps are too stretchy.  Again, this makes for fantastically comfortable underwear but not so great for swimming.  If the straps were the equal, the SWIC teardrop would be the best suit in my drawer, because it just barely covers everything and yet doesn't make you "stick out" if you know what I mean.

They are on ebay, etsy, and have http://www.swicthongs.com/ No idea why they are not more popular here.

I'm still looking for something better than Intymen sport thongs, which I think are the best. The only thing I need is more colors and solid colors. I'm always thinking people can see the white outline though what I wear.

I am a 25 y/o male, I work in a hospital and recently separated from active duty military service. While I was in I only wrote plain and boring boxers, before I joined I wrote a combination of boxers and the occasional thong. That being said I stashed a bag full of SWIC goodies that as a teen I wanted to wear but didn't cause I wanted to not be ridiculed. I don't know why I didn't wear thongs more but I didn't. So now that I'm out and in my 20s I found my SWIC treasure chest and have been wearing only then for the past few weeks. After years of being hidden these thongs and gs are still very comfortable and sexy. I may not be the same size but they still fit great, I was a 30-32 now I'm a 34. I gotta say they are making me want to be in a better shape do I can wear them to the beach or lake and cause people to stop and stare.

Lokus, I think it's great you saved the thongs and are now wearing them daily. I'm sure you will lose the weight if you really want to but if not, you can go up a size. I match my socks, tie, and underwear as often as possible. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who enjoys having a business suit on and a secret beneath.

I have two strings from Val, both the "Men's Teardrop G", which I bought from he husband's eBay store ( http://stores.ebay.com/captaincamo88/ ). The first one I bought was the one in the "Clouds" print, and it is one of my favorite suits; it gets lots of compliments at the beach. I liked it so much, I bought another, in the "Limes" solid mesh, which isn't quite as nice. The Clouds one has doubled elastic is more of a Y back with a small ring, and an extremely narrow front, which are my preference for suits, but the Limes is wider, with only singled elastic elastic and a T back, which was "One size fits most", but is not as snug as I would like.

Of course, these were both stock on hand, so I decided that any more of her suits I would have made to order directly from Val. I am glad to hear that she is good to work with getting a suit just right.

Wow, I see the original post here was way back in 2005, I had no idea SWIC have been around that long!
Their teardrop thongs have been my favorites for the past few years. They're ultra skimpy, ultra sexy, and ultra comfy. I have a few dozen of their teardrops in a variety of colors in t-back, y-back, and diamond back styles, and in spandex, mesh, and lace. The spandex t-back teardrops are by far my most common choice of underwear. I find the t-back more comfortable for all-day wear than the y-back, and the spandex more comfortable beneath clothing than the lace or the mesh. They hold up great to the frequent wear and the washing machine.

I've had great experience with this seamstress. Once I explained what I wanted she told me to choose 4-way stretch fabric and it would "cling like spray paint".I followed her advice and as soon as it arrived I slipped into a c-ring, pulled on the thong and she was right! It looked terrific.
