I was however more interested in what else could seen in the video eg. EVERY guy in boardshorts. I can’t ever recall being on an Australian beach on a warm day and NOT seeing some of the guys in ‘Speedos’. From what you say, I can only conclude that South Beach's notoriety is due to comparison with other USA beaches. Perhaps your comment, “What world do you THINK you live in??” is significant. I KNOW I don’t live in the USA. As such, please forgive me for forgetting how conservative USA beaches in general are compared with Australia ones. |

Next trip to South Beach my GF has asked me to wear a shorter trunk style suit (almost like a speedo) which I'm fine with. You are seeing this more and more in the northeast where we are from as well. Guys are getting away from "board shorts" and at least wearing shorter versions. I can completely understand a guy not wanting to wear a thong. I can honestly say I haven't seen a guy wearing a thong yet. Ive been to South Beach, other parts of Florida, the NE, etc. More and more thongs show up on women here in the NE but I've yet to see a guy. South Beach is a whole different place. It's basically a nude beach. In fact, you even see pictures online of girls actually nude on South Beach (NOT Haulover). So in terms of SB being considered "wild" because USA beaches are conservative? I don't know about that.
Men's thongs are a long ways off guys. Even in parts of Europe. Thongs on women are becoming popular VERY fast. |

Unfortunately there is a good deal of truth in what you say. Though why anyone would base their decisions on such a nebulous concept as religion or on $$$ influenced modern culture has long been beyond me. I was wearing a skinz g-string. For next year I was thinking of trying Australia and bondi beach and surfers paradise in February or march, how receptive are male thongs and how common are they on these beaches.
