There are warm snaps during those times, and even afterwards. I've laid out in the sun at least one day every month since November. You just need to pick a time very near high noon on a day with minimal wind and temp over 45ºF. The sun goes no higher than about 30 degrees over the horizon in December so you don't actually tan much at all, but it still feels good. For the paddle board, you actually need warm weather and minimal wind to enjoy it.

I have a tiny waterproof camera that I can hang round my neck. It is rather wide angle, so everything is rather small and off in the distance. Not good for getting personal reactions.
Most times the captains of the riverboat style double decker tour boats give me a toot on the whistle which often alters the tour-talker to say something on the PA and the people cheer as they go past.
I was out Sunday when I saw the Jungle Queen approaching so turned the micro camera on. As usual the captain gave a blast on the whistle and the tourists hooted and hollered in support. You can hear someone shouting "Hay Thongman". Sorry about the low video resolution.

I regularly get complements from both men and women and cheers from passing boats, of which there are a lot. The video is of late Sunday just before sunset so less boats around than normal for that part of the river.
So yes, when out thong paddle boarding I do get cheers from the tripper boats. But this also proves a second point, hundreds of people take pictures of me every month, yet you can't find any on the internet. The way the internet has evolved to cope with the flood of pictures and videos is to limit exposure to a few friends and then have them quickly forgotten, swept away by the continuing stream of new personally created content. Heck, even if you deliberately post your own pictures on social media finding them again later is often difficult.

Went up river with the rising tide to the swing bridge on the North Fork, then back down against the wind to the sandbar. Got lots of complements and called over to accept a drink. Dropped back and took off shorts, then paddled back into the group. Did the rest of the paddle and post paddle BBQ in a thong. Mix was about 75% women. During the BBQ and party a number of the women said they had to personally check out if my buns were firm.
This board is mostly men, because men are the ones who need the support to have the courage to thong. Round here the paddle board meetups are mostly women, because they like the support and social gettogethers. To meet interesting people go join your local paddle boarding groups, and be brave enough to wear a thong. |

On a sunny Saturday afternoon a the sandbar there are normally dozens and dozens of pretty young females in thongs. The short tiktok was by a women so I guess she was less interested in the girls in thongs than in our group of friends. When we got there the water was a little over ankle deep. By the time the following photo was taken it late in the day, the water getting deeper and many of the partying boats had pulled out and were on the way home. Stats so far with 5 outings in June, 25 miles for 10 hours. When actively paddling, I am on a 20-21 minute mile. So I am getting a good workout and sun at the same time. The lake I go to is well suited for SUP and Kayak as well as the ski and pontoon boaters. Some fisherman earlier and later in the day. More and more, I seem to be one of the fewer persons who is out there to really get a workout. Many are just out there to get on the lake for a while. That's fine too. I go, get hot, jump in the water, drink fluids and go again. This is my exercise time and by doing so, I pass by a lot of houses, boaters, and hikers on trails. For years, I don't get any negative reaction and often will just chat a bit with other SUP or Kayakers as I pass by. I always say hello and will wave to boaters (including the police boats for sure!).
This year we purchased another board and I have already taken my wife out on it for a first time. Getting others geared up to take a spin too. This week's weather probably won't cooperate on that.
Wearing a thong while SUP is great. Feeling the sun all over really keeps you warmed up even on 70-75 deg. days. When it's hotter, just jump in and cool off. I have seen only a couple other women in a thong / close to one in the past few years. I try to do my best to make people aware that it is a viable option. Many times when I chat with people they will mention that they have seen me out there before (I guess I am easy to recognize...)
Added a new album named "2023" with some pictures and workout summary. I highly recommend this as a great option for sun, thongs, and exercise. |

Almost 3 hours of cool, not humid, and calm conditions. The coolness (was about 64F when I started out at about 9:00) kept the boaters off the lake for a little longer than normal. Was able to get my 7 miles in and the sun and color of the sky was amazing. The lake water was the clearest I have seen in years. Just a great session! Oh yeah. in one of my Skinz thongs...!!! I saw so many people out SUP but most of them were beginner type. I have seen an uptick of participation on the lake this year. |

That person later friended me on FB. This was from yesterday. Saturday started out sunny, was cloudy at that point but cleared up later. The New River winds past the waterfront bars and restaurants, right through the heart of Fort Lauderdale. On Saturdays there is often events on the Riverwalk or in the two waterfront parks. Jazz Brunch or other events. So in addition to cheers from the women on boats, I get a lot of friendly waves and a few compliments from the people on shore. Go thong. Confidently, Publicly, Bravely, with a friendly smile. Just do it. |

Along with 40 likes, 16 loves, 12 smiles and 3 hugs there were a number of positive comments from friends, including "He is living his best life". Real friends either won't care or will be supportive.
This last Saturday we had a costume paddle. The weather was terrible and very windy, so instead of the 50+ we expected there were only about a dozen or so turn up at the boat ramps in the park. We paddled up the river to a coffee shop that has a dock. Got coffee, smoothies and food, then paddled back to the park. Here is my paddling halloween costume for this year. However, knowing I paddle and have a range of board someone asked me what is the best paddle board. It all depends on where you paddle, how you plan to transport and store, and what sort of paddling you want to do. I have fast tippy easy to drive 14' long ex-race boards for my own enjoyment. Tends to work far more of my leg micro stabilization muscles than a more stable boards. But having a problem with one ankle this last month I have been riding the most solid, stable, high volume boards. The long, wide, very heavy, boat like ones I lend to complete beginners. When at the sandbar one of these very stable high volume heavy boards can be an advantage: I can lend them to women who want to try, and they do well, even after some adult beverages. We can also get several people hopped up on to the board and it still stable. Several young women asked me for a ride, so I took them one at a time round the anchored boats. I paddled in front and they sat on the rear. With a 14' board we have lots of room. I don't have a picture of that, but I do have a picture of some other women just hanging out with me on the big board. Wore a green thong for St Patrick's day. Technically not till the 17th but they had the parade yesterday. I’ve had some back issues that I think of finally passed and so the last couple weeks I’ve been able to get out after work a few times and on a Saturday morning. I still have a decent tan from going on a cruise earlier this year, some backyard tanning, and a couple days here and there at the beach.
It feels great to be back out on the SUP getting in some good exercise along with sun on your bunz! I’m happy to say that both times that I went out after work for an evening session, I wasn’t the only one out there wearing a thong. Both times there was another girl (different girls) who had a thong on too.
Added a couple pics to the 2026 folder. I still love these string suits that I’ve gotten from Aliexpress and I think you can also find them at Orocojoco.com but it’s hard to find them there along with the colors that I like. I have at least four different ones and they fit and look great.
