We have a large blank wall in a room that has access to our pool. It was originally a mud room, but we now use it as a cabana. I have been thinking of making some type of art piece on this wall by stacking up various swimsuits we have but no longer use. We might have to supliment this with some cheep used swimwear from e-bay or a similar place. Has anyone else done anything like this, and any thoughts on what to use might be appropriate. For example, should the display be a swimwear history or just the types of swimwear we actually have owned? Should we stack them on top of each other, only leaving the most interesing suits on top, or should we put them up individually? Should we varnish them into a solid mass, display them behind plastic, or just leave them as normal swimwear. On the opposite wall, we have a collection of swimwear of friends and visitor's to use (mostly thongs or other minimal swimwear) towels, etc. Would having usable swimwear and a display of swimwear as an art object be too much of a good thing.

How about this, hanging the retired swimwear next to photos of you wearing and enjoying them. It would put the items into context and would be a reminder of the good times you had in them.
