It's been suggested that we should have a new thread for beachndance since Dore is no longer with us and Tambre is now running the business.  So here it is.

I think it would be cool if she would offer a "his and her's " line of suits.  For the women's suit she could offer just some basic very cheeky and thong styles- making to tops shouldn't be too hard with just triangles- or just make "southbeach couples" sets with just thong bottoms for both sexes in matching fabrics. Also she offers some print mesh fabrics like Dore did.  It would be good to promote those as "tan thru" for those who want to avoid tanlines.

but I simply cannot say how much I miss Dore now that she is gone...she was and forever will be the best

with that said though, time to move away from the past and into the present so let's start a whole new discussion about Tambre's new Beachndance and her line of suits

Time to wake up!  That blessed master artist Dore has moved on.  Crying over her absence does nothing to bring her back. Her successor Tambra will now have to step up to the plate. Dore left a remarkable standard that few have attained. Lothar, Jupiter, Pascal, and Jovana are still vibrant stars in the heavens that grace our present existence. They have earned our respect for their artistic mastery of needle and textile. Our duty is to recognize, respect, and bestow accolades to these masters by patronizing their creative genius and boldly doning their unfettered expressive handicrafts.

I hope Tambre is reading it now and then to see if somebody reacted.I noticed at her website that pouches may have dimensions. It goes from an extremely low cut of 3" to a very high rise (over 5.5"). Has anybody ordered one of those specific sizes? The very high rise with narrow top sounds like Dore's very narrow pouches (my favorite front). It would be nice if there were examples of these variations on her website.

I'd like to try ordering from her site but I have questions about the pouch sizing. What I want is something form fitting that will stretch if I start to get hard (hey, it happens 😉) but is snug when relaxed. Also, I'm interested in super brief but something just on the edge, not over it so the missile and stuff is not an option. Can someone give me an idea of the fit and the differences? I am on the slightly large size, package wise, so I want to be covered, but just. I have a Skinzwear rio back which I really like but the front gaps at the sides and starts to reveal a little too much at the public beaches.I'm sure here are some guys here that can help me out.

As long as your suit covers you legally under normal conditions, you are fine.  If you get an E while wearing your thong, sit down Indian-style or with your knees pulled up, or go in the water.  This is elementary nude beach etiquette and it applies equally to thong wearers.  You should never be out walking around with a boner.  It gives the rest of us a bad reputation no matter what suit you wear.  We can't normalize thong wear when thong guys are walking around with visible boners.

Re:Tambre - beachndance.com

Date Posted:09/25/2015 08:56:01Copy HTML

@facelessdrone2005 - yes, I know that. My question wasn't about whether it was ok to get hard, it was about sizing etc. But, I have to say that I don't get the whole thing about erections (covered or nude). OK, perhaps at an official family oriented nude beach - but tell me where that might be in the US? Anyway, I said "it happens" and my point was that I didn't want the front to pop off if I started to get a little hard, not "I want to walk around fully hard, yet stay covered". You know? I mean men have penises, brief suits will make that obvious and I'm asking about Beach n Dance suits, where they make the missle and others where you almost LOOK erect. 😉Soooo, hoping to get actual information about them, not a scolding about sexuality.

Re:Tambre - beachndance.com

Date Posted:09/26/2015 04:07:34Copy HTML

Well, sorry.  I thought my answer was pretty practical -- as long as you are covered under normal conditions, you have the ability to prevent any problems.  However, let me share my own experience about the suits.  I have a (old) Dore extreme low micro g-string that requires a huge amount of packing just to get into it, so much so that a c-ring can't be used, and even then it's borderline decent.  This suit is waaaay smaller than anything that Tambre is currently selling.  If there was any suit that would "pop off," it would be that one, and yet I've never had a problem.  Growth isn't instantaneous, you can feel it starting.  If I ignored myself, I might show a bit of root, but that never happens because I do NOT ignore it.  I go sit down or get in the water or turn over before there is an issue.  I also have a MS Poser with -1 cm pouch that sits extremely low and that one has enough stretch in it that I would sit down long before anything at all showed.  But absolutely NOTHING is going to pop off.  I think you are worried too much about this.  However, if sizing is really that much an issue, Muscleskins will make you a suit with a larger pouch.  Before you do that, let me share another experience.  I bought my first MS Poser with a +1 cm pouch because I was worried the regular pouch wouldn't entirely cover me.  I was wrong.  Oh, plenty of expansion area but when I did NOT have an E, and especially if I'd get into cold water, it looked loose and wrinkly and thus I looked pathetically small.  Hence I got Poser with the -1 pouch and that one is great.  Note, however, that MS sizing is kind of weird ... I have to have a +1 on the "classic" just to fit in.

Re:Tambre - beachndance.com

Date Posted:09/26/2015 05:18:38Copy HTML

I have the same experience as facelessdrone. I never had a suit that 'pops off'. The MS poser is one of my favourites and the design is very good.
They are designed to wear pointing down, and that helps for keeping everything coverd. If you are slightly on the large size I would choose a standard pouch or if you want to be on the safe side a +1cm.
I also have two moderate push-out thongs from DORE. They are about 4 or 5 cm's higher in the front than the MS posers. But if I look at the pictures on Tambre's site it looks that Tambre's moderate push-out is lower than DORE's were.
It looks to that Tambre's moderate-push out is between DORE's and the MS poser.
Since I like a minimalistic look, I always order a narrow pouch. In my opinions this minimizes also the risk of front gaps, because your package is more 'wrapped up' (I'm not sure this is the correct term in english).
Hope my commets are of use for you.

There are a number of comments here with questions about sizing.
Guys, ask Tambre.  Send her email.
While she has a system of standard cuts and sizes, she seems to be amenable to whatever you might need or desire.
Having said that, I'll also say, that it can be awkward getting some adjustments exactly the way you might want, regardless of who makes it when you have to deal via the telephone and/or email, so a little experimentation may be requred and one may wind up with a suit or two that are not perfect in the process.  Again, that is independent of who the maker/supplier is.

I recently ordered and received three suites. The dimensioning and naming on her web site is not very clear and supported by pictures on real life bodies so I had to experiment. I bought a 3" narrow pouch thong, a 5.5" narrow thong, both in solid Lycra and a 5.5" narrow pouch with a narrow top in mesh camo. The 3" and the 5.5" fitted perfect. The 3"was slightly lower than Dore's very low cut and the 5.5" slightly higher than the low cut.The camo mesh fabric was less elastic than the Lycra so it did not cover everything at the sides but still acceptable at the beach. The 5.5" thong is in green neon and I like to wear it on the next Philly Naked Bike Ride. Or maybe I will be in the mood to go naked. It depends on the saddle. ;)

It's true. Tambre has shut down the ebay store and is no selling through Amazon, or directly from the BeachnDance website. It makes good sense as you no longer have to go through page after page of existing suits only to find that you really want a specific style and color, and end up going straight to the source anyway. She's got good deal going on till the end of this month, the 31st, Buy 4 suits, get a mystery bonus suit for free. And you can even shop from her limited "Deal of the Day" and "Clearance" options, not juts the regular full priced jobs. I opted not to take advantage of the offer, but it seems like a decent opportunity.

Tambre makes some nice stuff. But I ordered two pieces from her a few months ago and the stitching was unraveling right from the start. She said send them right back and she would repair or replace. Many emails and several month later and I have nothing. I don't know what to say, After responding that they were "being shipped" in a few days I have had no response to repeated emails. That was probably two months ago

Tambre does seem to be responding slowly, as indicated by gw32.   Anybody else having difficulty with her response?  I start to wonder if she's having some sort of computer problem or personal complication, but she has just added a few new fabring choices and revised the Deal of the Day.  It may be she's updated the instagram pics too.

Yes, she has on her website shipment after 14 days. But I ordered two on November 30 under her sale then, they didn't get shipped until January 14. Wouldn't have been too bad except I left for Florida on the 14th so couldn't enjoy my new swimwear. Now that I'm back, I won't have them on until the spring thaw in PA.  Very disappointing.

Well,  Tambre seems to be doing well.  She just posted a new sale, with % reduction increasing with total price.  She's also keeds adding more patterms and solid colors in different fabrics.  I think the choices are over 180 now!  Business must be good.  That's good for those of us partial to her styles.  Keep her in business.  By the way, 1Monte, I see standard shipping claimed after 8 business days.  I don't see 14 days anywhere.  I think I'm going to order a few, though with this new sale, I may be induced to increase the number of suits.

Tambre has provided me with well made suits but I have to agree that shipping has been very slow, two months for my last order.  I wonder if she has any help.  When Dori was alive she had the help of her husband to do the shipping and possibly administrative work.  Last year I contacted Tambre and she said Dori didn't use patterns and she was interested in receiving old suits to make patterns.  Yes, give her a chance, there must be a major learning curve to get the business going efficiently.

Re:Tambre - beachndance.com

Date Posted:04/05/2016 12:02:17Copy HTML

Wow she didn't use patterns?  That would be tough to make the suits again.  Hopefully Tambre made patterns or notes from the leftover suits she had before she sold them.  Hopefully some of the web pages from the old site are some how available to her to see the suits. If I were in her position I might actually seek a "recall" of some of the styles to capture the pattern.  She could offer a "reward" for anyone sending a certain style- say "horizon" back to her for her to pattern they would get a big discount on a new suit, or if the suit had to be ripped apart, a new suit or more for the effort.  I don't know if just close inspection and measurement would be sufficient .I noticed she still doesn't make the 1/4 inch strap G string styles.  Making the elastic with lycra covering sewn on might take a certain sewing machine or a lot of practice. I've researched it and there are methods on youtube including sewing over metal wire and pulling through elastic band later, etc.

"I noticed she still doesn't make the 1/4 inch strap G string styles."  Yeah, I noticed that, too, and until she learns, she is losing my business.  I bought from the old Dore and she certainly made 1/4" straps.  Since Tambre took over the business from Dore, however, surely she already has the equipment she needs to make them.  To be blunt, Tambre's products right now just aren't that compelling.  Not really bad looking, just nothing special about them to justify buying them over other manufacturers.  No 1/4" straps, they're not particularly striking or stylish, and mainly the representative images are so bland that I look at them and just think, "meh."  I hope she reads this forum, and I'm sorry if my critique seems brutal, because I truly wish her well, but somebody needs to tell her.  Hate to see her waste her time and nobody buys her product because of minor things like these, but it could happen.

I think it's wonderful that she has started her own business and has a respect and interest in the male swimwear market. I don't think we should complain. If you don't like the stuff she makes send her a sketch of what you'd like.  I'm sure she would like the ideas.   I think it's awesome that she jumped in headfirst into something that was originally learned by the first owner over the course of many years.  I have a lot of respect for her coolness factor and her not being a boring victim of hyper American homophobia and shamer of the male form.

+1 to SolarOne's comment.  Kind of funny that her gallery is full of guys wearing the styles SolarOne is describing, but you can't buy them from her.  My fave suit is still the old Dore's Extreme Micro g-string.  I think it's a 3" pouch.  I've had it several years and it's held up well.  It's comfortable and also quite a bit smaller than anything I've gotten from Skinz or Muscleskins -- yet it's opaque and covers the goods sufficiently if properly packed.  It's also not too "showy" or crude to wear to the beach, because it's simply really, really small -- and that's just fine as long as you're comfortable with having the all-time smallest suit there.  I'd buy more if new Dore made this style, but she seems to have something against g-strings.  That's kind of odd, because I would think g-strings would be easier to sew than thongs.

 Bulgewear;

Same story with me.  She forgets your order, she doesn't send what you ordered, she doesn't communicate AT ALL, she fails in all aspects of marketing/customer service/etc.  I have a feeling it's entirely a 27th-priority thing for her.  However, Dore wasn't that much different IMHO. I only received my items from Tambre (twice now) after I sent an email asking about it.... typically 2 months later.

I think the best thing you can do is a charge back and get your money back.

It's such a sin that the original owner of "Dore" who had passed away not long ago made an amazing quality product.

UPDATE: on BeachnDance.com
Today I received my order I placed in early February from Tambre only because I sent a text message to her cell phone. It was my last resort and chance I took - as I was not sure if it was even a cell phone listed on her website. Even with my text - it took a day for her to reply and I had already filed a claim with PayPal. (Since she did not reply again).
Her response back to me was similar to some others that have posted on here about her having e-mail issues.
It's too bad that she does not have a grasp of things yet, as the product is made well. She just drastically needs to improve on her customer service.
My advice to those considering ordering from BeachnDance is to not wait too long before checking back in on your order.
