For those who going to have a look at Secret Beach - please note its NOT a secret! During the Full Moon Parties the place is packed!

Its a nice enough beach, with palms and rocks and is about 500 metres long with a nice enough bar and restaurant. 3 or 4 small hotel rooms for the overnighters (Booking.com). It's run by a Polish lady and her daughter. Theres a sign at the bar that says quote " No Topples" (Topless) as this offends the locals, so do consider discretion.

Having said that, we stayed there for 3 nights and beach privacy is available beyond the rocks at the south end of the beach. One morning, we did awake to a couple doing "exhaustive gymnastics" at 6am on the beach in front of the cabin and at the end we wondered whether to hold up some score cards or cool them off with a bucket of water! (Oh to be young again!)

Koh Phangan is a wonderful place. We have had 4 visits to the island and now are repeat visitors to Phangan Island View Hotel. There is no problem at the hotel with thongs in their pool. I emailed before going - sent a photo showing what a thong was - as they didn't know - and all was O/K.

100 metres to north is a Makro supermarket for cheaper drinks and food. 200 metres away is also the quiet Ban Tai beach with bars and backpacker resorts, again O.K for thongs with discretion.

Contact me if you need advice for Koh Phangan.

Back there again in 20 sleeps!

While we on the topic of Thailand. We had a week at the Lemon Tree Naturist Resort on Phuket over the last Xmas new year. This a nice place but a little remote from the main centres. The accommodation there is very high quality with nice layout. The staff are all textile. They are very helpful and take you to the beaches or town. They run an excursion to the nude beach on an adjacent island by long tail boat and that a nice day out if your a naturist.

After the Lemon Tree Resort we went over to Nai Yang beach. Another german dude was walking around with a string with no problem everyday.A nice place to chill.

As said above, we are back in Thailand next month. We're naturist when we can and wear thongs/g's at other times. For Bangkok, we are staying at the Barefeet Resort (Booking.com) a terrific place run by Thailand Naturist staff.  Then on to Chan resort at Pattaya. The Chan is a nice place, but I felt uncomfortable there with the 75 y/o german guys with 21 y/o Thai chics. Still a nice place though.

As said before, contact me for any help for Thailand. Either naturist or thonged.

Lemon trees is no problem for "single men". There was a Malaysian guy with his wife there whilst we were there and she remained clothed up to the last day of their stay.

We have stayed at most of the Thailand Naturist resorts and without wishing to offend anyone from the Indian subcontinent, my lady finds Indian guys are a bit of a problem. They seem to be actively seeking naturist resorts as this is a "new" experience for them and their eyes seem to roam excessively. In discussion with a few Indians at these resorts, they also seem to have an expectation of a swingers club rather than a true naturist experience. Whilst there are a few nude beaches in India, the norm is to swim/ocean bathe in a tee shirt and shorts. This applies right across Asia where we must all consider local customs and religions with our swimwear.

Thailand seems to be progressing with the 6/7 naturist resorts and a national body - Naturist Assoc.Thailand run by Greggers and Bruce, who are great guys. They are also part of the International Naturist Federation- INF. Link via http://thailandnaturist.com.

Thailand particularly is a great place to thong without fear. There are many European style resorts where an email to the operators about the suitability of a thong is just common courtesy and will mostly be greeted with a no problem response. There are great quiet beaches with palms and soft white sand - just like paradise - for us thongers to enjoy.

Enjoy Thailand for thronging or naturism!

Update for Koh Lahn island off Pattaya in ThailandSince 2005, Ed_jackson has written extensively on the island of Koh Lahn as being a great place to thong, but times have changed.Pattaya is now saturated with Chinese and Russian tourists in their thousands. Koh Lahn is part of a group of islands (Koh Phai and Koh Sok) that has become a “beach day outing by speed boat” destination for these tourists. On Pattaya Pier, there were some 5000+ Chinese tourists heading out to the islands and more arriving by buses every minute! Russian tourists also arrived at Thailand Naturist beach nude outing on Koh Sok and they asked them to leave! This was a beach they had been using for years.I’m NOT saying that thonging is a “No Go”, but the pleasure has certainly gone. Andy <!--[if gte mso 9]> Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:Cambria; mso-ascii-font-family:Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-ansi-language:EN-US;} Update for Koh Lahn island off Pattaya in Thailand Since 2005, Ed_jackson has written extensively on the island of Koh Lahn as being a great place to thong, but times have changed. No problems anywhere on Phuket.Give due courtesy when at a resort by sending an email prior to visit.  They will often say "Whats a Thong?" So just send a pic and await a reply.
Been to a lot of beaches and never an issue.Russians are currently in Phuket in mass and surprisingly they sometimes object to nudity/thongs.  They seem mostly over weight, so maybe its a body image problem. If anyone can further enlighten me  - I would be most interested.Lemon Tree resort provides another option. This is a naturist resort but with textile staff. High quality facilities/2 pools. If passing through Bangkok, there is Barefeet naturist resort - highly recommended.Chan resort at Pattaya has cleared out the swingers and Indians and this is a real nice naturist place to stay again. We are currently on Koh Phangan at Phangan Island View and this is a thong friendly resort. (Emailed request regarding swimwear for 2 years now and replies affirm no problems)Enjoy thronging in ThailandAndy

Maenam beach, Koh Samui, there is a Cocorico Restaurant & massage shop (9.579611, 99.987402) on beach, thong and g-string friendly, quiet in the morning, I even enjoy a naked massage there, by the way, there is a Jinta beach Samui bungalow (9.420146, 99.937991)  in the south of Koh Samui, naturist friendly if no other guest, of course no any problem for tiny swimwear.

I do agree that the locals are very used to men and women in thongs. I have written about my experience on Krabi, and back in few years ago when I was in Phuket Kata beach, it was a Russian woman gave me weird faces at my back. Other than that, no problem at all.

They are not used to men wearing thong / g-string...Media has created a false sense like thong/g-string is only associated with girl..and men with thong are more likely g*yThey usually make fun, feel disgusted abt men wearing thong...which is a sad thing to see...Thong/g-string is just another type of underwear

Just back from my thongcation in koh lanta, now is low season, almost all the beaches are pretty empty, feels like you are in private beach on your own, only occasionally very few tourist and local walking by...other than that, most of the time is empty, good place to thong and walk along the beach. I think even in high season, you can still find a quiet spot on the beach for yourself because the hotel is pretty spread out. Best place so far is ao nui beach, bamboo beach, or any beach further south of the island...the bad thing is the wave is big, not suitable to swim in the sea, and also a lot of rubbish washed up along the beach...

Phi phi island village resort. Since I've been here haven't saw any guys in thongs. I counted 3 speedos and one guy wearing A pair of square cuts. I'm wearing brazilian bikinis thats showing some cheeks that were cut high in the front that were custom made from fire boy. So far no comments were made. I wore them in the pool and ocean. Haven't saw no men wearing less than me.As far as the women plenty of cheeky bikinis several thongs no G strings.

Day 4 at the phi phi village resort: I saw one woman that had a G string on that had the body for it and looked stunning. And another one that had a gstring/thong. Plenty of thongs on women and the cheeky bikinis. As far as guys I'm pushing it with my brazilian bikinis. I was at the pool taking off my short shorts it was like time had froze and everyone was watching me. I had on a pair or male room bikinis by koloa. Alot of looks by the pool at the beach no one batted an eye. Saw two other guys wearing speedos some square cuts  and of course  plenty of board short dorks.

I went to this resort back in 2003.  Wasn't so busy on the beach and was the only one wearing a G-string.  Had 2.  One a Y split back and the other  a straight up T back style with sliding front.  They were from Skinzwear and pretty conservative at the front back when there was a bit of a jungle to conceal.  Not the most comfortable in all honesty and didn't keep them for so long..Went in March and the sea was a bath temperature.  Great place though.  Awesome for diving if that's your thing.
Enjoy.  I am jealous

Returned from Thailand. Sadly weather wasnt as sunny this time, less tan I think then last year, even though this was a long trip of 20 days.Thonged all the time, first stay at Marriott (near Patong), real resort kind of place, not my thing. Rawai is nice, quiet beaches (southern Phuket), but still beginning of the season wonder how busy it gets later. Spend 8 days on Koh Lanta, even more quiet. But not quiet enough to go nude I think.Did not spot a lot of thongs though, some, but like I said it is not really high season yet.

Had great time tanning in my g-string by the pool. 2 elderly ladies there, I think South American. I informed them I'll be wearing something small and they didn't mind.
I went in and out of the pool and what not - no problem.

Hi guys. I'm on the Thai island of Ko Lipe at the moment. It's definitely thong friendly with no problems. Only seen one other male thonger and agug in a G. Lots of thongs and cheekies on women. As has been said before, just act normal. I have walked the full length of the beaches here, no probs. A few admiring glances. I'm moving onto other islands soon. I'm sure it will be the same there o

Just back from two weeks in Phuket, I wore my small G Strings on Patong beach. I only went from 10am to noon because it got too hot and I did not want to burn. I was the only male in a g string, quite a few females wearing thongs and g strings. lots of guys in speedos and one with his girl pulled the back of his speedo up to look like a thong. I had couples come and set up right next to me while in my g string, so no worries as far as I'm conserned.During the day all I wore was a t-shirt with a pair of light nylon split side runners shorts with a g string underneath, and yes you could see I was wearing a g string.

I just had a good vacation in Koh Samui. Wore my g strings at the pool and beach.
I had only packed g strings, so that's the only swim suit choice I had. I seemed to have been the only person in a g string there. Didn't see anyone else in thongs or anything close. I noticed at least three tourists filming me with their phones on separate occasions. I just smiled and carried on doing my own thing and trust they got good footage ;-)
