^^ I'd wager that things are very different now though 5 years later. On my trip a few months ago I saw 0 topless women and 0 men in thongs.

Just returned from my vacation in Phuket. Thongs are absolutely no problem. Unfortunately most tourists are from Russia at the moment, as they are allowed to travel to Thailand. But more than 50% of the Russian gils are wearing thongs. I've seen two other men in thong. You find a pic in my album.

Any chance anyone's stayed at Peace Blue or Harmony naturists resorts? Or Beyond Resort in Karon?

Just booked another trip for end of november this year. This time 4 nights in Bangkok then 4 nights in Phuket at Beyond Resort in a pool view room which looks like it might be fun for thonging. Never been to Bangkok before though so if anyone has any hot tips for adult orientated hotels let me know.

Ended up staying at the Samala Hotel in the Sukhumvit area in Bangkok. Nice hotel but the nature of the city means most of the rooftop pools are very small. Only managed to get to the pool once due to a busy schedule. Wore a blue N2N thong amongst guests of a mixture of nationalities. A few stares otherwise nobody really paid any attention. One lady stared for quite a while but I think it was possibly more because the front is unlined and i'm circumcised so the head can appear very prominent. Beyond Karon was a great resort to thong at. Their pool access room has sunloungers outside the doors of the room so spent the days either lying on them or by the secondary pool right in front of us, which was a little smaller and quiet than the main pool which ended up suiting me perfect. Generally stuck to two different N2N thongs called Fire Island which has a quick release buckle on one side. Had a youngish Russian girl and a German couple as room neighbours. Think the female of the German couple was a little shocked at first. I noticed the Russian girl was wearing a much cheekier bikini on the day I left, I like to think I influenced her but I'm probably dreaming. Most people just gave me a look when they first saw me and then didn't really pay any attention to me. A couple of early mornings I did also wear much smaller g-strings outside my room. Karon Beach is right in front of the hotel as well but the pool was so nice I only went out there once. I'd love to stay there again but it's quite pricey in comparison to other hotels and the area doesn't have too many adults-only hotels. On a separate note - i swear there's more Russians in Karon/Kata than last time i was there in 2023 which i didn't think was even possible! Would love to see the area a bit more mixed but what can you do.

So, I'm off to Bangkok at the end of September. I'm staying at the Inside by Melia in Sukhumvit. Anyone have any ideas as to where male swim thongs will be acceptable? Also, what about when getting a massage etc?

@spyke433 I've worn thong in several hotels in Bangkok without any problems.I always go for oil massages completely naked; there's no issue with wearing a thong.
