Let's start a thread where we can deposit secondhand accounts of thong wearing we see in the media.   We can include some "casual" nudity or topless reports too...obviously we don't need to know Haulover is a nude beach or there are thongs on Orient Beach. I'm talking about in on line forums, travel articles, even TV travel shows.  It's not as good as a first hand account from a board member but will serve to get the word around.

Use your discretion but some comments like "people at the pool we're wearing suits like you'd see on a beach" or "some of the European women didn't see a need for their tops" would be helpful.

I've seen  several which I'll post later but we don't want some comments like "Hey Walter you should wear your thong at the Disney Pluto Pool" or other joking accounts- More on the order of "We saw this cute guy wearing a thong at the pool one day" or "Tiny swimwear was everywhere"

Don't pay attention to the issue of paying admission in the article- but really a "cool" club on a cruise ship?  The reason it would be cool is the people and I'll bet they're not on that ship.

Check out the pool clubs- wonder if topless sunbathing is allowed-like in Vegas?  Adults only- may be progress?

A tourist guide book regarding Paros island, Greece, features a good number of photos where one can clearly see women in thongs and g-strings on the beach, as well as nude sunbathers. Then again, despite the waning of nudism due to the ridiculous "tourist development" (a euphemism for the destruction of seaside landscape with illegally-built concrete-heavy atrocities) we've seen over the past 20 years, thonging is generally perfectly accepted in Greece.

"girls wearing tops as dresses exposing that they're wearing a thong"

I checked this out, and from the photo she looks perfectly fine.  So her underwear was showing, so what.  At least she was wearing underwear.  It seems that mall security needs to get a life and start focusing on shoplifters and the like rather than bothering young customers like this.  I wonder if security would have reacted the same if she had been wearing regular underwear, and not a thong?

The mall dress event to place in... Kentucky!
Don't get me wrong, Kentucky is a fine state but it is in the South, the Bible Belt, and the mall is not a local place where a fine-looking young lady should wear that dress, which in either coast would go unnoticed, and if she does, it will attract attention. The fact is, as many posts explained, the mall is a PRIVATE place visited by the public but it is not a public place (owned by the state/government) and the private owner can direct his security staff as to whom is allowed or not allowed in it. A smelly homeless man cannot be removed from the local park. The police can encourage him to move along but cannot force him, the park is a public place. But the same homeless man in the mall is a very different story! The mall only has the illusion of being a public place but it isn't and as such it can function under rules differently than the local beach or park.

Come to the West Coast! here in our malls you can wear whatever you want, even if you don't look good in it.

...I'm sorry East Coast I love you guys but our weather is better!

Armand.

Miami Model sues over nude sun pics

MiamiHerald -

Supermodel Elsa Benitez, ex-wife of former Miami Heat center Rony Seikaly, is the ''Jane Doe'' plaintiff in an invasion of privacy lawsuit in Miami federal court. She says a paparazzo shot close-ups of her -- naked -- outside her home on gated Sunset Island II in Miami Beach.

Defendants: Noticias Digitales; Splash News & Pictures; Egotastic.com, and unnamed photographers.''Plaintiff sunbathed in the nude, as is often done by professional models in order to avoid tan lines,'' says the complaint, filed by attorneys Evan Marks, Paul Schwiep, Kendall Coffey, Robert Burlington and Natalia Salas.

''She was in her private and secured backyard, and possessed a vital and well-founded expectation of privacy.'' The lot is ''heavily landscaped'' and has a five-foot-tall wooden fence ''to ensure her privacy,'' the suit says. 'No one can gain visual access to her backyard without illegally trespassing. . . . Defendants' conduct constitutes video voyeurism.''

The unidentified photographer shot more than nine images last month and sold them, the suit alleges. They're on the Internet. Benitez, 33, who has appeared on the covers of Vogue, Elle, Glamour and Sports Illustrated, also alleges emotional distress and misappropriation of image.

The defendants' attorneys could not be reached for comment.Benitez bought the six-bedroom home for $3.575 million in October '06, when she and Seikaly divorced. They have a daughter, Mila, 5

CANBERRA (Reuters) – An Australian holiday resort will hold a month-long "anything goes" party, to combat an expected economic downturn, media reports said on Thursday.

"Tough economic times call for stiff measures," Tony Fox, the owner of the White Cockatoo resort in Mossman, in tropical Queensland state, told the Courier-Mail newspaper.

"It will be a hedonism resort, where anything goes for a month. It doesn't take rocket science to work out what it means," Fox said, naming March as the risque party month.

The controversial "clothes optional" resort made headlines three years ago when police were called to end partner-swapping parties after a swathe of public complaints.

"You've got to wonder what sort of people go and why. Where is the moral code of behavior and how do you stop jealousies and fights?" Cairns Catholic Bishop James Foley said after Fox's announcement.

But local regional Mayor Val Schier said she was not opposed to the event as long as no laws were broken.

"People in tropical north Queensland are extraordinarily creative," Schier said. "It is tough economic times and as long as it is with consenting adults, then there is no problem."

Australia's tourism in industry is being hit hard by global economic turmoil with official figures showing a 7.6 percent decline in overseas visitors in September.

Industry leaders expect holiday bookings may drop by up to a third in early 2009 and are planning a new international advertising campaign to coincide with the movie "Australia" starring Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman.

Fox said his resort was almost fully booked for the month-long rainforest party.

My wife and I heard this announced on Fox News this evening.  The report said the resort is usually half the year a nudist resort and the other half a family resort, but that this was a departure to combat hard economic times.  Though the report didn't say it explicitly, my wife filled in the 'swinger' charge, to which I chuckled and agreed.  But when she aledged that's what must go on all year there, I staunchly defended the nudists' use of the facility as not being a sex-oriented one, but much like the family use, just without clothes.  This attitude bothers me because, though I'm not a nudist, I respect their philosophy and what I believe to be their decent behavior in their proper settings.  She saw sex in the long grass at Orient Beach and believes that's what nudism is all about.  Aarrgghh!!

Man, I really don't like those new YouTube rules. Like the article said, they can pretty much reject a video for anything. Just some innuendo, or wearing something they don't like. If they really enforce this heavily, this will probably just push people to other video sites, and there are plenty of others more than willing to pick up YouTube's strays.

Safe for kids... exactly what danger are they in? Will breast attack them? Will teen boys begin to touch themselves and go blind?! What is the danger? Topless girls being 'looked' at by men? I've never heard of someone dying from a look, although I'm familiar with the term 'looks that kill'.
How about age discrimination? Only the young will be allowed to be nude/topless? How afraid are we in growing old/loosing what little beauty we have that we project our fears unto older folks?
How provincial to bathe with clothes on! Think about it!
The pervert and his psyche twin, the prude, are so because (in general terms) they have repressed natural instincts/curiosity. Mommy said not to touch. Or look. Bad, bad, BAD!
Nudists look like they do because by the time they'd overcome their inhibitions they are as old and out of shape as they are. But they finally accept themselves. Good for them!
Keep it in segregated areas... hum, that doesn't sound good does it? 'Separate but Equal' anyone?
Yes, some cultures are more indifferent and some more 'conservative', some are more religious.... I wonder what animals, or creatures from another planet would think of all of this...

The Rule of Law basically says that Harm has to be established in order to restrain someone from their natural freedom to do as they please. Where is the harm in a missing little piece of clothing? The fact is that the top (and bottom) is the last remaining and arbitrary piece of clothing that begins with the burkah, which completely covers Afghan women from head to toe and is completely useless, especially when trying to sunbathe or swim.

Officials with the tourism department of Australia's Queensland state on Tuesday revealed the 50 finalists from a pool of nearly 35,000 applicants for the job — a 150,000 Australian dollar ($96,000) contract to relax on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef for six months while writing a blog to promote the area

In one video, a man from Ontario, Canada, performs an original musical on a city street, with around two dozen of his friends serving as his chorus. In another, a man from Queensland is seen scuba diving, swimming with dolphins and riding a horse along a beach. He ends his video with the line, "You'd be out of your mind not to give the job to an Aussie bum" — and with that, walks away from the camera — in a thong.

I was flipping thru an off-shore fishing magazine in our companies break room and towards the back of it in the advertisment section for boat charters, vacation areas etc.  There is an add for Cental American vacation spot. The picture in the add has a woman laying down in the shallow end of a tiled pool. You can see her back side and she is wearing thong backed bikini.  It's the June 09 issue of "Saltwater sportsman" magazine, 70th aniversary issue. Page 92. It's for a resort in Costa Rica.

I just saw a commercial on tv yesterday. I had seen the commercial before for the same thing, but this was a different add. It's for a beach resort called "Breezes", never heard of it before. Anyone else? It was the usual crap about the hotel, beaches, etc. Except they showed a quick flash for some sort of stage show, acrobats or something. It was a woman spining from a trapise rope. Kind of hanging side ways and spining. Well when her back side came around, the leotard she was wearing was either a tonga type or a wide thong back. Atleast the lower half of her cheeks were showing. They had the normal high cut bathing suit type leg openings, but very narrow at the back. they weren't full coverage, cause they didn't look bunched up. They were just, thongish. Keep your eyes open for it. Oh and by the way, It wasn't late at night, it was around 2pm or so.

First paste it into notepad or other basic ascii editor so that the formatting codes are removed, then cut again. This will give you clean posts.
