Last year I wore a red micro G-string from Skinzwear to this beach (M1R2U-9411).  Setup right in the middle again and laid out for about 2 hours.  As soon as I pulled my shorts off (which are pretty short by themselves) I got hounded by 7 or 8 college girls.  Unfortunately non of them were in thongs or G-strings (although there were plenty around).  I let them take pictures, and they gave me jello shots :)

Anyway, when I laid down there was an older lady and her husband there next to me.  She said she had scene me there before and nothing but good comments on my suit.  Her take was: "lots of the girls are, why can't a guy?" which I, of course, completely agree with.  Anyway, that suit is extremely small - bare minimum I would say and not be transparent (although you can see pretty much my entire form through it).  I did not walk around in it, although I did stand up for the jello shots and pictures!  I would wear this on South Beach into the water, but not at Cocoa Beach.

Of course, at south beach I've worn my Skinz G-string in orange tiger mesh without a problem :)  I didn't have my camera with me that day (!!) but I posed for lots of pictures when I was literally sitting out in 2" of water (at the crowdest point I could find on the beach of course) and when I used the showers at 5th and Ocean to wash off in  just my transparent G.

You should resize your pictures. A simple and free program is Irfanview. It is easy to find with Google.
To keep your pixel-count low, resize the pictures and if needed reduce the quality.

IRONICONPA,  I just checked out your new set of pics, looking good there.  How did you lose the weight? diet, exercise, or both.  I'd like to trim up my midsection.

Re:Users pictures and photos in profile

big daddy thong, thanks for the compliment.  (And thanks to those who posted nice comments on my profile or sent private messages.)

The weight loss was a combination of things.

I did not try to lose a lot of weight in a short period of time.  I set a very easy goal to lose about 2 lbs. a month since I didn't have a lot to lose, but I know that the closer one gets to his ideal weight the harder it becomes to shed pounds.  I probably could have comfortably lost much more than that per month, but the gradual change didn't leave me feeling like I was starving and I still had goals to meet.  If I had been much heavier I'd have probably set the goal at 5+ lbs. per month.

I weighed myself every morning right after I got up and tracked my progress (or lack thereof) on a chart.

On the same chart I recorded daily any exercise or out-of-the-ordinary activity I engaged in that might burn calories.  During the past year I did my usual lap-swimming but upped the yardage on some days.  I recorded push-ups, crunches, weightlifting (which I have not done enough of), extended walks, hiking, bicycling, etc.  Anything that burned more calories than normal.  If a week didn't show enough exercise it gave me incentive to increase my activity for the following week.  Still, I didn't overdo things (fear of injury in my old age...).

The food/drink area was particularly difficult for me since I love fatty foods, sweets, and beer.  I loves me my full-fat cheeses, ice cream, cookies...and beer.  (Ever been to Bocktown, big daddy thong?)

I love milk and drink and use a lot of it for cereal, etc., but limit myself now to 1% or 2% fat milk for everything.  I can't get used to Skim milk.  Eeww.  I eat full-fat cheeses and cream cheeses and use butter.  No compromises there, but I reduced my intake just a tad.

I love fruits and veggies so I just incorporated more into my diet.  That does not mean, however, that I have given up potato chips, cake, cookies, cupcakes, tortes, muffins, ice cream, chocolate, etc.  I still eat something "bad for me" in at least one of those categories daily.  Just not a lot.  And, for instance, since I can easily polish off a package of cookies in 2 or 3 days, I started buying the by-the-pound (Voortman's?) cookies so I wouldn't have as many in the house.  If the temptation isn't there I can't submit to it...

I usually eat a good breakfast, have a light snack (hummus and a few chips for instance), a reasonable lunch (I used to get the 12" subs but I realize that I can survive on the 6" versions), and have a big meal at dinner, but it usually isn't too big.  I usually don't eat snacks after dinner.  I guess that's a big problem for a lot of people.

I don't use dinner plates for dinner when I'm eating by myself.  I find that using a smaller plate has made me prepare less food and eat less food.  And I no longer feel obligated to clean my plate, although if there are leftovers they go into the fridge to be part or all of a future meal.

And, especially on the weekends, when I have dinner with friends or go to parties with a lot of food, I sample everything, but have just learned not to go too overboard often.  Yeah, sometimes I gorge on too much good food or drink, and WAY too much beer, but it's not that often, and when I do it, it's worth it!

So, it was a combination of many things and I think the important parts are:
I kept track of my weight but did not obsess about it
It wasn't too rigorous -- I allowed myself wiggle room
I upped my exercise regimen just a tad
I didn't exclude foods I really like, I just limited them
I didn't starve myself
I set reasonable goals

Now, let's see if I can keep the weight off.

Actually, I wouldn't mind gaining 5 or 10 lbs. of muscle, so I have to increase the exercise thing (the cardio is good, but more muscle-building exercises are needed) and keep going with the diet stuff.  So now I have to up the weightlifting and other muscle-building exercises.  I want to build up my chest, arms, shoulders and thighs just a tad.

Sorry this was such a long post, but my weight-loss wasn't the result of just ONE thing I did.

Questions?

(Oh, you mentioned about trimming up your midsection.  That's one of my goals over the next few months, too.  I've lost a lot of the fat in that area -- that's obviously a major thing to do if you want "abs" -- but I have to increase my crunches and other ab exercises to actually strengthen and tighten my stomach muscles now.  It never ends, does it?)

ironiconpa: pics are great! As some of our British friends would say "Good on you mate!"
I am impressedby your exercise and diet regimen. I am always looking to get inspiration to keep good eating and exercise habits. As many of us know this gets more difficult with the passing of time. The highlight of your post was the fact that you know NOT to overdo any particular part of regimen and consistency. I will try to adopt some of your techniques.  I think that if I apply some of your principles then I should be well and ready for next season as winter is fast approaching(sigh).

Thanks pkthong.

In the past when I tried to lose some weight I always tried to work off the poundage quickly and would change my diet drastically to do it.  This time I went about it gradually.  It took longer to get my weight down with the changes I described in the post above, but it seems to be working now since I didn't shock my system by the changes.  I can still enjoy foods and drink I like, I'm just more moderate about my intake.  I occasionally gorge on certain things -- I can't give up on beer or wine, or certain foods like cookies, ice cream, chocolate, full-fat cheese, etc. -- but when I do it's a blip on the chart and it's easier to compensate later for the excess.

I forgot to mention that I also make a concerted effort to eat and drink slowly and take note of when I start to feel full.  When I start to feel full I know to stop.  If I'm at home I wrap up the leftovers and save them for another meal or a snack; I keep from adding extra weight AND I save some money.  If I'm at a restaurant I'm sure to ask for a doggie bag.  So far it's working.

I never was more than about 20 lbs. overweight in my life, but I know how hard it is to knock off even a fraction of that and make the change stick.

Good luck to all of you who are trying to lose weight.  It IS tough.  But it is all about diet (what you eat, how much you eat, and how/when you eat it, not depriving yourself) and some exercise.

Oh, and thanks to my parents for the good genes!  That helps a lot!

Ironiconpa,  Thank for the tips and advice on dropping weight.  I can attest to the fact that the older you get the harder it is to stay in shape.  I have started to put your use your ideas and put them into practice.  I just have to push myself from the table more and get my butt of the couch. :~)

Re:Users pictures and photos in profile

I have recently lost 27 lbs.  And it was amazingly easy.  I eat less, don't deny myself of Onion Rings, Pizza, Blue Cheese Olives or Chips and Salsa.  I just set limits.  Honestly, I am so proud of weight loss.  I took my time and did not do anything drastic that I could not keep up.  Also, I travel on cruise ships a lot and found myself indulging in Chicken Fingers and Baked Ziti.  I then downloaded several apps for my I Phone.  Nutrition, Eat this not That, Restaurant...and found them to amazing and entertaining.  I used to make a lot of wrong decisions that I thought were healthy decisions.  For example, Chik-Fil-A, has a limit on 500 Calories for all sandwiches! I used to order the Ceasar Wrap thinking it was better than the fried chicken sandwich (which I preferred).  The calorie difference is 400 calories - less than 1/2 of my favorite!
I am not offering advice - it's not my place.  Just sharing my journey and realizing that when I started with making "one smart decision with each meal" that I began to see improvement. which fueled my progress.
The best thing is that I have been on a "Thong Buying Frenzy" AND now I can comfortably buy a Medium with confidence that I can wear it.

I personally try to stay away from pale colours, don't like pink, mesh suits can get you in trouble with the local regulations,  and laces are not my cup of tea.But that is only me.I think your suits look ok if you are at a c/o beach, or surrounded by adult beach goers. You look like a fit person who looks after himself, and I reckon half of potential negative criticism about your suits could be just hidden compliments of other men of your similar age who would love to have your body and they don't.
Therefore wear what you want to wear as long it is legal and doesn't offend people around you (i.e. you wouldn't wear those suits at your local pool).

My profile pics were from last summer.  I had been calorie counting and slimmed down pretty well.  I've since put on like 40lbs, 10 of which are fat that I plan to lose by next summer.  I'm thinking that should be enough to get the abs back and show of my new muscles.

When on this site I usually check the "Who's on" section, and I'm disappointed to see that the vast majority of members have no images on their profile. We are all thong wearers and presumably thong fans, so I don't see why we can't all show off some of our collection. After all, digital cameras are cheap enough and most mobile phones have cameras, so there is really no excuse - you don't have to show your face!
