I guess I set up in the wrong part of the beach!  I found parking near Outrigger and set up on the beach near there.  I wore a yellow Arroyman Rib Bulge for about an hour then switched to a Jovana Lift Enhancer.  I know that it was dangerous for me to wear something like that on a non C/O beach, but I flipped over when the lifeguard drove by and kept my head on a swivel when I was laying face up.  No issues at all.  Not even sure anyone even noticed. Will decide to wear that again on a case by case basis.  Enjoy the summer!

The former wouldn't draw any attention other than curious looks from people new to Venice, if at all. The latter is cool, I've worn similar stuff usually while sitting up on a beach chair and just cross legs when someone walks/drives by too close. Currently I prefer two inch side suits with moderate back coverage although sometimes I go with a 1/2 inch muscleskins.Next time come closer to Galleon-Ketch; this is the stretch that I began my humble effort so many years ago ;)

Hey mrhb2008, pretty sure I saw you on Saturday, I think you were changing as I walked by up the beach near the homes. I was in an orange Wicked Weasel. I've worn a a few things similar to the Enhancer without any issues as well. On my way back I thought I saw a white-haired guy in a very conservative black brief set up near you and then peal it off. I'll say hi next time. A beautiful day to be out!

Saw the weather today was around 70 degrees and figured Id take a chance and go thonging.Got there around 2 and set up near the life guard station and 24th street to lay down for a bit and saw another thonger wearing a white one and I wearing a black baggie.Wednesday is my new favorite day to walk the boardwalk, the highschoolers are in school so there is a more mature crowd of people.I got tons of cat calls from women, a lot of good "wow that guy is hot" kind of comments, and I got my picture taken on more than one occasion. However, there were a few negative comments made such as "put some clothes on" etc. My advice is just to take it in stride and be proud and a little smug that their girlfriends like a guy in a thong.
Cheers!

That's ballsy, Yummypie! I still don't have the inclination to walk around with just a thong. I'm content to enjoy the sun and the water. I'm getting waxed in a couple weeks and I'll be sure to get to Venice Beach in June when the weather warms up.

On Saturday and Sunday, I walked on the pedestrian trail from MDR through Venice Beach to Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica and back in just a thong.  Got a couple of smiles and woohoos along the way.
There were a lot of thongs everywhere.

All of the recent posts about Venice Beach are so refreshing. Few places in SoCal where you could walk the boardwalk as Yummiepie in a Baggie or round trip to Santa Monica and back as ABC.  Nice work, folks.

New to the forum and thonging. I went to MDR last week to try it out. It was a bit cloudy so most people were clothed, but the only two women in bathing suits were in thongs. One even changed her suit standing up, no towel. Definitely helped me feel less out of place in my Gregg Home reef thong. I can't wait to go again!

It's not South Beach but no one is gonna care. Maybe a harmless catcall. Midweek is not as crowded but ironically better ratio of thongs to regular swimwear. I tend to make it on a Tue or Wed or Thrs.

I went to Venice today. Great day. The clouds cleared out after 1pm and then it was about 70F with a few clouds, but warm enough to sit on the beach in a thong. I wore my pink Skinzwear thong near ketch. I didn't see any women in thongs but I did see a few cheeky thongs. I also saw one guy sunbathing in a black g-string near Galleon. I didn't get any complaints or comments, but I did hear a few cell phone cameras.

This was my first time thonging in public and I have to say it was a really empowering experience. I can't wait to go back! I want to go to Newport next.

I walked from Santa Monica pier to MDR and back in just my g-string again on Wednesday.  I got a few smiles.  That's about it.
When I started the walk, the beaches were not that busy.  By the afternoon, they were very crowded.

That's a lot of walking! I stroll from the municipal pier to the marina jetty.

For the past few years, I would frequently go to MDR near the Ketch / Privateer lifeguard stands. I moved out of LA a few months ago, but I'll be back visiting the area in mid-July. I definitely plan on stopping by MDR to soak up a little sun!

Good outing yesterday. Just as many female thongers as there were males. Best part was when I went in the water for a dip, a couple walked up and literally setup their beach spot 10 feet away from where my towel was when I was in the water... needless to say that most the beach was pretty wide open in that area. I was thinking to myself like really? Of all places on this beach you’re going to post up right next to me?? This made for a few surprised looks when I was walking back and I could see some chatter going on between them, but they chose that spot so that’s on them! I didn’t say anything, I just let my blue joe snyder thong do all the talking!

Jmatthews- That has happened to me many times, but the first was the best. I was 22 and was at Corpus Christi where you can drive on beach. This is a public beach, not a nude beach. I drove past the crowds and decided to go skinny dipping. I didn't want to chicken out so I went completely nude to the water over 300 yards away. I swam for an hour. The tide went out and now it was over 400 yards back to my car and as I walked back I noticed 3 cars had set up almost next to mine. The beach was vacant for 500 yards in both directions from my car. And now there was approximately 15 people watching me. I covered my self with my hands for a few feet, then said what the hell. I walked back proudly totally exposed. I had not planned on this. I was both nervous and extremely excited. As I got closer they whistled and cheered. Needless to say there was no reason to put on anything when I got to my towel and I stayed nude for 2 more hours.

I was recently in town for business and spent several hours on Saturday in the morning at Marina Del Rey. First in my silver metallic c-string, which I used my typical trick of wearing it over top a koala a$$-spark and adding an additional twist-tie to better secure it. I put on a very slightly mesh g-string on top for walking to the beach, but once in my spot I stripped down to just the c-string. I was not shy about standing up to apply sunscreen/oil. There were several groups of surf lessons that came down to the beach right next to me too. I went in the water once, about the same time another young lady who was wearing a very cheeky bottom and who momentarily went topless while changing into her bikini top. Everything was going great, then two lifeguard trucks pulled up beside me (there was a big gap on the beach because of the surf lesson people being in the water and they were just using that spot). Turned out they were going out to the water to help a guy in a boat who was stuck, didn't even talk to me. While they were wrapping that up I went for another swim. I thought about pulling on my g-string first, but I didn't want to appear that I was doing anything wrong, so in I went, wearing my hat, sunglasses, and a tiny c-string. My first time swimming I had to re-adjust the c-string after the waves, but no big deal. They weren't very tall of waves, however they were still pretty strong. Well, this second time one of the waves somehow yanked my c-string off, leaving me in the water wearing just the a$$-spark. In my panic I managed to keep my hat but also loose my sunglasses. The lifeguards were still finishing up on the beach, and luckily not many people were right next to me but there were a lot of other folks on the beach. I waited in the water for the lifeguards to head out, and for a break in the beach walkers and quickly but confidently made my way back to my towel holding only my hat over my privates. Once back to my towel I quickly pulled on the g-string. Amazingly it did not seem that anyone took notice, which I suppose the hat actually covered more than the c-string! I spent the next few hours in the g-string, which didn't very well hide the metal ring underneath, and when on my front the rear string sat next to bottom metal rod so that was in view from the right angle, still no hassles at all. Despite the little panic in the water, it was a great time at the beach. I learned my lesson, no more swimming in only a c-string, I'll always pull on at least a g-string to hold it in place!
