Stanpuppy - SlidingG covered it, PSA and digital rectal exam-wise.  I've had them by both male and female doctors and believe me the female is preferred - just because they have smaller fingers.  That makes a lot of difference!  Remember a doctor is a doctor regardless of gender.  Just like, to them, a patient is a patient.  Just remember that the prostate exams are very important so don't hesitate in getting them done on time.

Re:Wearing a thong to the doctor

Much like wearing a thong for a massage, there is something that I find hot about wearing a thong to the doctor (well, the right doctor at least).
My current doctor is an unattractive, overweight man who is about 50 years old; he is definitely not someone that I feel comfortable wearing a thong in front of. I suppose I really ought to change doctors all things considered!
I do have a good doctor/thong story to share:
I did once wear a thong to another doctor more or less by mistake. I was in graduate school nearing graduation and I wanted to take advantage of my free health care before I left school, so I had scheduled an appoint for a full physical. Graduate school was a really, really busy time for me and somehow the morning of the appointment it slipped my mind that I had to go to the doctor that day and I wore one of my thongs. Early afternoon rolled around and somehow it just hit me that I had to go to the doctor that day, and I was pretty nervous when I realized what I was wearing.
I actually considered going to the bathroom and changing out my underwear entirely (somehow going commando seemed less embarrassing), but I decided "to hell with it" and went how I was (this decision was made a lot easier by the fact that my doctor was a woman and that I was graduating soon so it wasn't like I was going to see her again). I was still pretty nervous about the whole thing though.
When I disrobed in front my doctor she obviously saw my thong and I saw a little smile on her face, but then it was right back to business. I think my face must have been pretty red from embarrassment as she made the comment "don't worry, you'd be surprised what I've seen" and then she got down to business.
Anyway, I know most of you are a lot bolder than I am about these things, but for me this was a pretty big deal!

I look forward to wearing my thong to the dr. He has never blinked nor any other doctor. I find all of them have been total pros. Then again, I look forward to showing off my thongs at any point, legal. In fact, only one friend has commented about my thong wearing. No one else ever.

I just got a new doctor and had to go in for a physical. He asked me to drop my pants. I just got back from vacation and have a nice and very noticeable thong tanline. Immediately he asked me if I tanned. I said I was just on vacation and that was that. I wonder what he was thinking? :-)

"tanning" means going to a "tanning bed"- which he was probably going to tell you wasn't a good idea.

I'm heading to the doctor next week for the annual physical.  Switched to a female doctor last year, and she's not bad looking, mid-thirties I'd guess.  I've got very strong thong tan lines, so no matter what I wear, if I get naked at all, she'll surely know my choice in swimwear!
I think I'll make sure she checks that right testicle that seems a bit tender compared with the left.  I've fully shaved on anything that sticks out, but have some hair above the shaft.  As long as I don't go too far, it's a good chance to have some fun with my exhibitionism.  To properly do her job, she really does need to see most all of my naked body right?

I went for my annual checkup with the doctor today.  Wore my usual thong underwear.  I was asked to strip down and sit on the table.  Dropped my pants and took off my thong and laid it on top of my pants.  No comment from the doctor or nurse.

Another time I went to another doctor to check out a pulled hamstring.  She asked me to pull down my pants to check out my thigh.  I had my shirt still covering most of my thong, but she could see my ass.  She asked if I had on underwears.  I told her yess.  I have on a thong.  No comment from her as she proceeded to check out my pulled hamstring.

Well I could say wearing a thong to hospital :-(
On the 15th of august I had a very bad accident with my motorbike.. Leg broken on 3 places + a broken collar bone. I was wearing a thong and they did an operation without removing my thong. Next morning the nurses did. The youngest had a big smile. Now sitting in my wheelchear for another 2 weeks minimum :-(

I wear thong underwear all of the time, and yes to doctor visits.  Its really no big deal. You undress, get your check up, put your cloths back on, and go home.  I have a prince albert piercing, which I think would be more of a shock, but this too has proved a non-issue.  These people are professionals.  I feel they concerned about my health not my underwear.

I was in a rather severe motorbike accident where I was hit by a rather aggressive driver. The other driver was cited by the way.

I was wearing full body armor and full face helmet. Under all that I was wearing a mesh thong. After gently removing all my mototrcycle gear. The EMT's began cutting my jeans off to examine my injuries. The EMT stopped when she got up to the top of my thigh. My mesh thong and what was in it was now hanging out of the cut in my jeans. After checking it out, my injuries that is, they threw a cover over my legs  put me on gurney and hoisted me into the ambulance.

This accident had traffic stopped in both directions at rush hour. I have to laugh at the situation as I'm sure some of those stuck in traffic could see what I was wearing. The EMT was very professional. After that experience I did not worry about a trip to the doctor's office while wearing a thong.

I just came back from the dermatologist today and had to relay the experience.  When I called for my screening appointment I was told  My normal derm (who is a woman) was out on maternity leave and I would be being seen by a male doctor.   Being as i dont normally wear underwear, i went to the appointment as normal.  When I got in, a young nurse (female) took some info from me and asked me if I wanted to undress completely, or just pull up my clothes and move them around for the exam.  I asked her what she would prefer.  She said it would be better if i undressed.  She left the room and I undressed completely.  I put on the paper gown they left in the room for me.  When the doc came in, he went about his business and made some comments about my arms, lets and face.  He then had me stand and he opened the back of the gown.   I was not wearing underwear (as previously stated) and the tan line from my muscleskins thong that I wore this summer was completely exposed.  He said absolutely nothing and proceeded to move around to the front.  He had me drop the gown completely and my totally bare front was completely exposed.  He said to me, "Everything looks good except for a couple of razor marks in the genital area".  He then explained to me how to get rid of them (acne wash).   The conversation then led to grooming that area.  I told him I had just started using th Tria home laser.  He told me he and his wife has looked at it.  He asked me my opinion, etc.  We had a completely normal conversation about the merits of lasers and hair removal.  I got dressed, he gave me a script for some athletes foot that I had, and I was off.   Very cool guy, and the visit was great.  No attitude, no judgements about my choice of swimwear, lack of underwear, personal grooming decisions, etc.!!!

Just wondering how many thongers out there are brave enough to rock a thong/string when going to the doctor's office, knowing your doctor or his/her office staff might see it? I'm sure it's much more common for women these days. As a guy, I felt compelled to endure the discomfort of boxers last week when I had an appointment.  It was such an alien feeling after wearing thongs for most of my adult life (25 years or so).

I usually wear bikini style underwear, and when I would go to my dermatologist (a male) for a skin cancer screening I would wear one of my skimpier cut briefs. We would usually pull and tug the briefs around to make sure nothing is missed. At my most recent screening I wore a narrow-cut thong. Everything went as usual, except for no pulling and tugging of the briefs. In addition to my dr. in the room is a female nurse to make any notes about suspicious moles, freckles, etc. Business as usual. Should've done it a long time ago.

Meh. I doubt there's much a doctor hasn't seen before. And if s/he's professional, what is s/he going to do about it anyway? I've only been to the doctor once since I've started wearing thong underwear everyday, but I didn't really even think about doing anything out of my normal routine. It wasn't a big deal.

I have always worn my thongs / g-strings when seeing a doctor, massage therapist, chiropractor, physiotherapist, or any of the lab techs. I have been fortunate in that most of my medical appointments were with female practitioners. I've never had any comments from doctors, but I've had some flattering comments from chiropractors, physiotherapists, and massage therapists. I did see a female dermatologist a couple of times for the skin cancer checks and she had me stand with just my thong (and a slingshot one time) on while she checked front and back. When it was time to check underneath the thong/slingshot, she just asked me to remove it and I stood there naked in front of her while she looked. She was fairly cute.

Since thongs are my normal underwear, I have worn them without thinking about it.  For example, last year, I pulled my hamstring and went to the nurse practioner at work.  She asked if I had on underwear and for me to pull down my pants.  I answered yes as I pulled down my pants (and still had on a shirt).  She was standing behind me and again asked if I had on underwear (she could see my bare butt, but not the top of thong because of my shirt).  I responded yes, it was a thong.  She made no further comment as she examined my leg.

I go to my great dermatologist each year for a pre-summer-sun full body scan.  This time for the first time I wore a bright Boodie g string.  No comments whatever from him; no problem.  No comments on the nipple rings either!  (But my new g.p. asked about them immediately, wanting to make sure I'd had them done in a reputable place--which I had.)

I really did not think of it but when I had to have a physical (in advance of filling out paperwork for my intent to immigrate to New Zealand back in Fall 2003) I visited a physician.  He commented that I had an interesting tan line (I also had a closely cropped 'landing strip' along with being clean shaven in the adjoining areas). He marveled that I was in great physical condition being that my age was 51.

I just came from my annual physical where my (very attractive) female doctor did a prostate exam.  When I dropped my pants I was wearing no underwear and she plainly saw my bare pubic region.  She said nothing about either and did not seem fazed at all.  I am pretty sure that this is standard for most doctors.

I also chose not to wear a thong when I visited my doctor recently.  I would imagine my doc would have seen a guy in a thong before but I did not want to test those waters.  I wondered how much he noticed my thong tan line as it was definitely visible duriing the exam but he did not say anything.  I am sure doctors are used to these things but at the same time I could not bring myself to wear a thong to the doctor visit.

Nah. Most I've ever done is a sports brief/string bikini for Dr visit.
Same for physical therapist/sports med therapist sessions. Lots of stretching and manipulating and a sports brief or string brief is best for those sessions.
I have gone commando for some dr visits because I know I'll end up wearing that dumb paper gown anyway.
Dr and massage therapist have seen my tan lines plenty of times with no comment... Well make that one time.

Not a problem wearing a thong to the doctor. usually my doctors visits dont require undressing, its usually head ache crap or allergy season stuff.

However I know a couple of the girls in my doctor's office quite well and they know my thong lifestyle. (guess I need to add them to my "who knows you wear thongs" list). They have seen thong tan lines or my thong itself a few times, so no big deal there. One has been on vacation with us.

I didn't wear a thong at my dermatologist appointment but I was sporting a thong tanline. She asked if it was alright for the two assistants to stay during the appointment and I said that was fine. When it came to checking my backside they had a full view of my tan. The doctor said it looks like you have been out in the sun a lot and I told her I use sunscreen and I really love laying out.

I have yet to attempt it. Although thinking back I should have worn one to my old doc's office. It would have been an etertaining experiance as the nurse for some reason or another was easily flustered when I would bring up the topic of my sex life and how things function etc...She was well aware that I do shave though, there was a few appointments before a procedure that involved my pants and underware coming off

Last time I was at the doctor I had to get a cortisone shot in my lower back.  Had to remove my pants so they could sterlize the area before putting the needle in.  I had to lie on my stomach during the procedure.  My tan lines were more than apparent and the sterlized area went well into the untanned area.  There was no question about what I wore.  Neither of the very attractive nurses said anything (though I would have liked to have heard from them).

I pulled a groin muscle at work in October. When I originally went to the urgent care, I wasn't wearing a thong, but when I had my follow-up appointment to assess whether I could return to work, I was. The doctor was a true professional, and didn't say anything about it

I do not think Doctors or nurses really care or give it a second thought. They see so many crotches and asses in a year what is the difference. I am sure they would rather see a clean person with a clean thong than a unsanitary person in old ratty boxers or briefs.

I had to get a shot in my rump a few years ago and the thong made it easier because I did not have to take them off.  I had a little nervousness as I had not expected to have a shot and I knew the nurse through church and I do not advertise my thong wearing. It was fine and I am sure she could care less.

My question in my head is: Why do they leave the room to let you get undressed when they are going to come back and grab your sack or finger your ass anyway? Lets just get it over with. Lol

I dont really get it either, but it's considered professional behavior to give patients their privacy when undressing. I guess you could make the argument that watching someone undress could be arousing or that some patients might be embarrassed if they have to undress in front of doctors/nurses.

My thoughts exactly.  Doctors and nurses are professionals.  They see so many people that they have probably seen it all.  So seeing a guy in a thong or with a thong tanline probably is not a big deal.  And being professional, even had they not seen it before, they would probably not say anything to their patient.  They would probably say something to a coworker or wait until they left work to talk to friends or family.

Having worked in physical therapy, the patient's choice of underwear and swimwear rarely gets mentioned or shared. Same in the gym, unless it is blatant it is quickly forgotten as the therapist moves to the next client.
What does get shared and gossiped is a client's poor behaviour or ugly attitude. That goes around really quickly.

I had a visit to the urology doctor yesterday for  prostate check and other age related medical issues for a man of 55 years old.  Wearing thongs to the doctor's office has never raised any eyebrows with the staff of nurses or doctors.  I had a new doctor in the practice for my appointment, he was an older gent who was very personable, great beadside manner and all around good guy .  During the exam I stripped down naked below the waist and he made mention of me being hairless.  He was curious of the trend of men shaving and or waxing their pubic region, since he has been seeing more guys bald.  He asked me about my reasons for grooming my private parts.  I told him I shave or wax a lot of different areas not just my groin region.  I shave my head and armpits as well.  I told him I like the look and feel of being hairless.  I told him I like the feel of skin to skin intercourse with my wife for one thing and the other is I like to wear thongs and g-strings to the beach, so being hair free enchances the way I look.  He said that was sound reasoning and suggested that I my sure that I use a new disposable razor each time and make sure that I use an lotion to prevent razor bumps and ingrown hairs to prevent any cuts or infections of the skin.

I had had a cardiac cauterization Tuesday because I was having chest pains. Before leaving for the hospital I shaved my pubes and all around my groin area, since they did a poor job the last time and I ended up doing it when I got home. Before I ended up with a Hitler type mustache pubes, which I always keep trimmed very low.  When the nurse went to shave me she said I did a great job, but needed to do a little more in the area. I was completely exposed. Another nurse was watching and said Awesome dark tan. My tiny G-string tan lines were visible.

I had another stent put in and I feel great. Very lucky - the blockage to the artery was over 85%. My heart problems are genetic not due to diet or lifestyle.
Guys - if you have any tightness in your chest, unusual dizziness or shortness of breath or any of the other symptoms of an heart attack, make sure you get medical help right away. You can loose heart muscle which can not be restored or God forbid have a fatal attack. I have been lucky twice to catch the problem before an attack. The first time my left main artery had two blockages over 95%. The doctor said I wouldn't have survived even a minor attack.
Please  don't be macho and fail to get it checked out!! This applies to all  my fellow women thongers as well.

I had to get a physical and a drug test for work. I was wearing a muscleskins thong under my dress slacks.  The nurse had me change into a hospital gown wearing only underwear and socks. The doctor also did a turn your head and cough as part of the physical I just pulled the thong down we did the turn your head and cough and "Viola!" I'm done.

If you have trouble wearing a thong to the doctor ask yourself, "Who's directing the movie of life I'm in?" If the answer is, "I am!" go for it. If the answer is someone else, maybe you should change directors.

As I now only wear thongs it's no a decision I have to make, and no medical professional has ever made a comment one way or the other.
The main question is, "does it turn ME on?", and must say a couple of times it has.

In all the countries where I've had to visit a doctor, thongs have never been a problem.  However,  when I lived in South Korea it was a big deal.  Most of their "doctors" go to Yonsei University, which is run by fundamentalist christians who teach creationism, not science.  (If you can call them "doctors"....)   Most are conservative and christian, so a tattoo or a thong isn't well received.  No, saying that is *not* an attempt to start a flame war about religion, so let's not.
.
Korean doctors who got their degrees in other countries had a different attitude about both.  That wasn't just my experience, it was the experience of others, both thong wearers and those with tattoos.

I was having a full medical for my HGV licence a few years back and had to strip to my underwear. Knowing this was going to happen and not knowing the doctor I was going to get I aired on the side of caution and wore square cut boxers, I seem to remember they were the black nylon style from H&M, quite low on the hip and short in the leg. I'd just returned from holiday and was sporting very defined thong tan lines which just appeared over the top of the boxers. As I stood there with my back to the female doc she eased my boxers down a little to check my spine alinement, her only comment was "someones just come back from holidays with a good tan" then proceeded to give me a talking to about skin protection. I assured her I always use sunblock and no more was said. I think she was way to professional to comment on my choice of tanning wear style.

So I just had a very interesting experience with some medical professionals.  I recently had to have some laparoscopic surgery for some GI issues.  Being as it is right at the end of the summer, my tan lines from my Skinzwear Spartan G string are still very prominent (for those who may not know...the Spartan is a teardrop style front pouch with a Y-back G-string rear.  It is very brief.  I started wearing them this year to match my wife's "kimmy bottom" Malibu Strings G's when we go to Gunnison beach).   I am also lasered completely bare in the front.  When I was coming out of the anesthesia I was laying down in post op when the surgical nurse started talking to me.  Aside from telling me I did great, and the surgery was a success (which is what I was really concerned about), she said to me because the surgery was done laparoscopic "you will only have a small incision mark, so you will still be able to wear your tiny little speedos".
I was real surprised.  Obviously she noted the tan lines (they would be impossible not to), and it seemed from her tone that she was appreciative of them.  I just thought is was interesting that she would make mention of it.

I'm on a roll with the medical profession.  A couple weeks after the tan lines comment made by the ER nurse, I had my annual skin check with the dermatologist today.  My derm is a nice enough looking female who I have been going to for years.  Today the nurse came in and after she did her preliminary workup she gave me the option "You can leave your underwear on, or I can give you a swatch to cover yourself with".  I didn't tell her that I was not wearing underwear, I simply said "I'll take the cover".  When my derm came in she did her usual workup, checking me all over while I was sitting in the chair.  Then she said, "Stand up so I can check the back side".    When I stood up, my bare backside had the tan lines from my skinzwear Spartan teardrop G-string still pretty well burned into my butt cheeks.   She had me sit back down and concluded the session with "Well....your skin looks amazing.   Nothing to do but see you again next year".    No mention of my tan lines, but they were unmistakable.   I think it is like hotbunz said above...if you are dealing with a real professional, the focus is on the medicine and the science, not the fashion statement of the patient.

As usual my doctor is always very professional and made no comments of my privates being clean shaved  or having a very distinct G-string tan line. She always reminds me to use plenty of sunscreen! The only thing that I did notice this visit was her glancing at my G-string underwear 2 or 3 times. We have kids the same age and compare notes about parenting.

20897-Funny, I also went to see my primary last Tuesday.  No comments on my smooth thong tan line from him either.  But he is gay, so I am sure he sees them a lot.  Although he did have me on my side for a longer period of time on the exam table during my annual prostate check... Hmmmmm ??!! Lol

I am going to a new primary care physician in a couple of weeks and was nervous about wearing a g-string or thong for my complete physical.  The discussions in this forum have laid aside my concerns.  He is from Sri Lanka so I don't know how that culture views one with a full body tan and being completely smooth from neck to toes.  I guess I'll find out.
About five years ago I had my Prostate removed for cancer.  Its pathology came back as the cancer being at Stage III.  I hadn't had a PSA check for about four years prior to the check which revealed an elevated number.  I am a firm believer in getting annual PSA checks when age appropriate.  In spite of the medical community saying that the PSA isn't really necessary why take a chance?  You get routine blood work anyway why not add the PSA?  Even if the values are elevated any recommended biopsy is merely a little uncomfortable.  At least you will know for sure if further treatment is required.
Now, after five years, my PSA is "nil" and I am cancer free.  Don't take a chance get yourself checked!
