One of my most recent friends was coming out to me that he is part of a fandom where people love anamorphic animals, better known as furries. He is somewhat open telling people about it.

I don't see it as much of my thing, but I also don't seem to hate it. In fact, I took time to listen to my friend about the misconceptions. I found some similarities between the stigmas that people have for the furry fandom, in the same way that people view thong wearers; like they think joining either of the two, if male, is a "gay thing". sometimes the other way around, like people will say thongs are for women only, while saying furries are males only.

I just want to know what others think about the furry fandom? If not, does anyone know of other weird fandoms and what are their thoughts about it?

P.S. My friend also doesn't mind about my thonging and says I should stand up for what I like to wear.
