Over the last few months I have seen quite a few younger women in fabulous physical shape wearing tiny thing bottoms and not wearing tops. At that huge public pools and adjoining grassy grounds parade all peoples from singles, to couples, families, to groups of university students and retirement age persons.Long long ago I gave up on worrying about what idiots might say about my tiny swim attire and what they might think about me as an individual. As Eleanor Roosevelt is quoted as saying... " Great minds talk about ideas, small minds talk about people." Since I am not a person who beloved that religion should not dictate my attire or should government, I follow my conscious and the local ordnances that allow me to express my individuality. Having been an ocean open water swimmer for better than 50 years I have moved on from wearing Speedos to thongs or smaller swimwear. Why people should wear board shorts, which were designed to prevent abrasion on surfers' legs from sand impregnated wax that is applied to the top surface of the surfboard to provide a non-slippery surface to stand on as they stand on their boards to ride sea waves. If you know anything at all about swimming, wearing wet baggy excessive clothing while swimming or in a body of water is not and intelligent choice in swim attire. In fact it may contribute to helping drown you. If you are a poor and weak swimmer that is scared of water don't be foolish and enter into water deeper than you can handle. Fear and panic is what drowns people !!!Having swam up to 5 kilometers non-stop while wearing Speedos is a testiment to wearing the correct garment for swimming.I have found that wearing a thong is the best attire for swimming. Being nearly weightless you will not be dragging excess weight or creating excessive drag as you might have to contend against river and ocean currents. Thus you have a much greater chance in not fatiguing and drowning. Swim smart and safe!

However, having received by swimming instruction (age 6) in the nude at the local YMCA and then going to that and other Y's where swimwear was optional into my 20s - I learned to prefer nude swimming anytime that is possible.

Please cutback on starting new threads. Post replies to to existing threads on the subject.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
First paste it into notepad or other basic ascii editor so that the formatting codes are removed, then cut again. This will give you clean posts.
