Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:04/13/2008 11:53:01Copy HTML I live in Calgary now. The questions isn't if any of us are here. It's where to go to thong in Calgary and not be persecuted by the extreme small mindedness of this city.

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:08/12/2008 11:15:18Copy HTML Plan a vacation with her in Vancouver. I'm heading there in a couple of weeks and expect to thong or string, maybe skinny dip, like at Wreck Beach. I'll report back, but by early September, the season will be waning. There's always next year to look forward to.

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:08/14/2008 01:00:27Copy HTML Jprob50, we're planning to hike over to Wreck Beach on 29 Aug. early afternoon. after visiting the Anthropology Museum. Maybe you can tell us if there are any trails along the bluff, or if the only option is down at water's edge, like from Trail 4 over to Trail 6. My wife may not be able to handle too much up and down, such as the 400 steps on Trail 6. Would hate for her to miss the scene at Wreck Beach. Thanks.

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:08/14/2008 04:44:44Copy HTML I'm sorry to report that you are not going to be able to avoid decent onto Wreck Beach without adding quite a bit of distance to your hike. Even though there 400 steps the hike is very short, less than 1km. However, if you would like to thong instead of being nude, I would sugguest that you head to Kits beach. The approach from the parking lot is very easy. There facilities there too and I could use the thong company. To tell you the truth, Wreck is not that much of a beach. There is more sand and eye candy at Kits. Wreck was chosen way back when because of it's close location to UBC and seclusion. I really beleive you would have more fun thonging at Kits than being nude at Wreck Beach. I'm willing to bet we can start more of a trend there too. I hope to see you there !

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:08/14/2008 09:05:51Copy HTML Hey Jprob50, thanks for the info. I'd like to try thonging at Kits, and I'm sure my wife would be okay with that. Might make a good picnic spot after a morning at the Maritime Museum -- she can relax in the shade while I bask nearby in the sun. Is it an easy walk from the museum? We'll be riding the bus around town, including out to Pacific Spirit Park afterwards on the 29th. Wreck Beach is appealing because I want to check out the race course of the Bare Buns 5k I'll be missing on the 17th (maybe run it in the future sometime? have you ever done it?), and it would be my first opportunity to test my wife's newly stated tolerance of an occasional visit to a c/o beach. Running such a race is still off limits, but I'm hoping down the road............... Anyway, here's my likeness if you're there http://www.flickr.com/photos/slidingg/2727919012 and feel like coming over to say hello. I'd more likely be in a thong (blue/orange harlequin) than in a g-string. Just out of curiosity, are g-strings seen at Kits, or is that pushing things too much?

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:08/15/2008 01:30:01Copy HTML A g-string at Kits is pushing it a little. Thongs are seen but still kind of rare. However, I'm sure no one will say anything as long as you are not on parade. From the museum to Kits beach is a very flat easy walk and only 200-300 meters. Hopefully, I will see you there!

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:08/15/2008 04:56:35Copy HTML Thanks for the info, Jprob50; now we'll just hope for sunny weather. One advantage at Kits is its pool if the bay is too cold. I'd still like to check out Wreck, as I'm just plain curious, but it may not work out on this trip. We're talking now about starting our day on the 29th at the Anthropology Museum when it opens at 10:00, then head back to the Maritime Museum for an afternoon visit. Kits in between would be perfect. The TransLink website is fantastic for helping plan bus journeys. We hope to end the day at the Fish House in Stanley Park. Is it as good as AAA suggests? On to Edmonton Saturday morning to visit an old Sardarji friend from Peace Corps days in India in the mid-60's, he settled there now for 35 years. 1 1/2 days in Vancouver is too little -- we'll be back!

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:08/22/2008 01:18:33Copy HTML Jprob50, the 10-day long range report for Vancouver looks pretty dismal, especially Friday the 29th. Hope you get some sun for your holiday there, I've about given up for ours. Oh well, it's dry in the museums and shops. Still hope to dodge the raindrops and hike around Wreck Beach, just enjoy the wild scenery. I learned from a fellow thonger at the beach in Rhode Island Wednesday that trail #4 goes down to be beach behind the Anthropology Museum. Right (north) would take us to Acadia Beach and an easy walk back without a lot of climbing. Left (south) to the main c/o area would be more fun, but involve a lot of stairs. Will have to work out the logistics with my wife as the day approaches. If we bump into each other, great!, but I'm not counting on it. Have a good one.

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:12/12/2008 03:42:57Copy HTML I suggest trying to connect with other thongers staying in Calgary hotels and join in when they are in town.

Re:Any thongers in Calgary ? Date Posted:01/23/2009 06:21:09Copy HTML Hey,
I live just outside of Calgary and I don't think there are any place to thong, nor would I want to try thonging anywhere here in Alberta, unless it was in private of somewhere. Too many "rednecks" here in Alberta that could cause problems |
