Re:Aruba Date Posted:07/29/2019 08:16:35Copy HTML Thank you for all the help. I guess we will see how it goes. Was hoping the private Renaissance Island got a little more topless use. As long as it is allowed I suppose she will. It's crazy how much that island has changed. I had my first glimpse of a topless woman there back in the 90's. I believe it was on Eagle beach and there were tons from what I can remember.
I know thongs/g-strings are non-negotiable for her. She already bought quite a few new ones for the trip.

Re:Aruba Date Posted:08/09/2019 09:01:04Copy HTML Ive been in Aruba for a week and I’m sad to say the swimsuit scene in Aruba has completely changed for the worse. I’ve come with my family several times over the last 20 years and there is a huge change, especially for men. Ive seen countless bikinis and a few thongs on women, but 99% of men are in boarshorts. I first started coming here as a teen in 2003 and then you would see so many men in anything from square cuts to skimpy bikinis and even thongs. Now you’ll see a man in a larger brief style swimsuit maybe once a day. All I can think is that Americans have completely taken over most of the tourism here. Before it seemed like lots of men from Europe and South America came and their swimsuit choices were so fun and exciting. I’ve spent time on many different beaches too - Palm, Eagle, Boca Catalina, Arashi. I hope this was just an off week. I wore bikinis all week and felt like I stood out for sure on an island that used to be a haven for this.

Re:Aruba Date Posted:09/18/2019 06:43:45Copy HTML Late report from Aruba: Fiancee' and I went in late August and we stayed at the Renaissance Adults-Only Marina. Fiancee' wore thongs the entire trip and I wore square cuts/briefs. First day at the pool she wore a stylish loin cloth style thong. There was one other quite curvy girl with her husband in a thong. Saw one other guy wearing a skimpier speedo.
What I found most funny was the over the top fascination with the flamingos. I completely understand people want to take some pictures. However, some girls literally sat and took pictures with them for 8 hours straight. Third day, we didn't hit the beach. We went around town and shopped. On the fourth day, I promised we would go to Baby Beach. Fiancee' wore a pink bandeau top with a pink loin cloth style thong. I wore slightly longer trunks as we would be snorkeling. Baby Beach is very nice. I highly recommend it. It's a less commercial, more natural experience. Snorkeling is top notch. There were a couple thongs on women and one guy in a sunga (you could tell they were Brazilian). My fiancee' had wanted to tan topless but this beach had quite a number of kids around. The last day, we went back to the Flamingo private island in the morning before our flight. Fiancee' wore a crochet cheeky bikini and I wore another pair of square cuts. After that, we boarded our plane for back home. Couple observations: - Island is super expensive but nice. Safe pretty much all around. It's NOT a super liberal swimwear type area. There were a couple true thongs but my fiancee' wore the only g-string I saw the whole trip. - Zero male thongs. Mostly board shorts. Decent number of trunks. Few speedos. Not to say a male couldn't wear a thong, just might not have a lot of company. The response to my fiancee' taking her top off was interesting. As I mentioned, the Europeans didn't bat an eye. The Americans seemed taken back by it. One guy walked by several times to get a good look. What was really interesting, was one American young couple. It was a mother, father and the daughter (looked to be early 20's) with her boyfriend. Early that day, they were chatting up my fiancee' and I. The daughter even complimented my fiancee's thong asking her where she got it. We even heard her later in the day say to her boyfriend "I want to wear a thong bikini like that." Once my fiancee' took her top off the mood changed a little. On the boat ride home, they couldn't look my fiancee' in the eye. Oh well. It was nice. We had a lot of fun but probably wouldn't go back for our next trip. Fiancee' agreed she wants to go somewhere a little more liberal where topless and maybe some discreet full nude is acceptable. |

Re:Aruba Date Posted:02/22/2020 09:47:29Copy HTML Returned to Aruba for another vacation, since I had good times here in the past. I wore only my teardrop g-strings (skinzwear M85 and latexleatherandlaces ring thong) at the beaches and hotel pool. Both suits are small so it is necessary to be hairless. Coverage starts at the top of the shaft, but the essentials are covered, nothing protruding, and black color visible from a distance. I mostly wore the LLL ring thong, which is narrower.
I was at Renaissance Island for several days. I had the smallest swimsuit of anyone there, but no one cared. Numerous people came and went in beach chairs around me with no issues at all. I did use a coverup to walk to common areas like the restaurant, but the coverup was a mini pareo that barely covered cheeks, split to waist, and some string showing, so it was apparent I had a very small suit. Even on the family side beach some women had thongs. Overall there were less than 5% thongs, but about 50% cheeky bikinis for women. The woman with the smallest thong attracted no attention while walking around. A couple of women were topless, but in the area with cabanas, away from the main beach. On men, maybe one bikini and one square cut per day, but less than 10% board shorts. About half the people there were Americans. Everyone was polite. No rude behavior of any kind.
I spent several days at a hotel on Eagle Beach. This beach is so large it never seemed crowded. Same as last year, no issues wearing the g-string, but I was the only one who did. I walked along the beach many times. I was mostly ignored. No reactions, except for several compliments and some smiles. No stares. Multiple people, including families, settled into beach chairs around me. Maybe one to five real thongs on women per day. Maybe up to 20% cheekies. For men, maybe one to five bikinis per day. From languages heard, Americans were in the minority.
I went on a sailing and snorkeling tour on a small boat and decided to just go for it and wear my g-string. There were less than a dozen passengers, all adults, and they didn’t care what I was wearing. There were two young girls on board as crew and they requested a photo opportunity with me. They both had very cheeky bikinis, and were surprised that a passenger would have anything smaller. One of the best compliments I’ve gotten.
A few days later I went sailing on a larger boat with over 50 people and decided not to push it. I wore my cheeky bikini, slides front and back, and gradually narrowed it to a near thong. I had the smallest swimsuit of anyone, but there were no reactions. For women on board there were some cheekies but no thongs. One guy was in a bikini. This trip departed from Palm Beach, and while waiting I noticed the beach was narrow and crowded. Lots of big hotels. Very commercial. Not as nice as Eagle Beach.
Not a lot of small swimwear on Aruba this year, but quite a range of swimwear styles. Lots of languages heard. Everyone was polite. People having a good time. The continuing trends are cheeky bikinis for women and shorter trunks for men. But women and men confident enough to thong will encounter no problems. Like usually happens, I had the smallest suit of anyone. Didn’t matter. I had a wonderful time and got a great tan.

Re:Aruba Date Posted:03/21/2023 10:36:46Copy HTML We were just at Renaissance Island at the adult beach on St Patrick's Day so I thought I'd give this thread a little bump.
Only topless ladies on the beach were my wife and the female half of another couple traveling with us. As for thongs, I'd say easy 50% of the women had on thongs, or quite cheeky bottoms. I was however the only guy wearing a thong...it was a nice custom made green one with shamrocks all over it...thanks to Nutshack Apparel!
Walked all over the island with no cover up, no concerns, no snide comments but plenty of smiles.
While it was nice, I think the beach is too tight and will stick to Eagle Beach if coming in on a cruise or Palm Beach when at the timeshare. |

Re:Aruba Date Posted:08/05/2023 10:31:24Copy HTML On a visit to Aruba in early July I had a great time at the Renaissance Hotel with its private island. I also spent part of three days on Eagle Beach. Aruba is safe, the people are friendly, and the weather is reliable. There was a mix of people from many different countries. Less than half were Americans. No rudeness from anyone.
What about swimwear? The official Aruba government tourist web site has a picture of a woman wearing a one piece thong. However, on the island for a week I saw maybe one in fifty women wearing a thong. The most thongs and the smallest thongs were seen on the family side of both the hotel and the island. Go figure. The smallest top and thong bottom were worn by one of the larger women, so good to see people doing what they want and in a place where it is comfortable to do it. A third of women had cheeky bikinis. On Eagle beach I saw only six women with thongs over three days, and one near g-string. A fourth had cheeky bikinis.
For guys, at the island just four moderate bikinis and four square cuts spotted. On Eagle beach, two guys had a Brazilian sunga, and that was it for anything small on a man. A fourth of men had trunks to mid thigh in both places. The rest had long shorts, and many a t-shirt as well.
I wore only my teardrop g-strings. I got nothing even close to a negative reaction. I walked along beaches multiple times. Families set up near me. I was part of the scenery. Chill crowds. I got compliments and requests for pictures. One young woman got into posing with me. She said to me, you're really hot, you're the hottest one here, do you know how hot you are? Made her day. Mine too. Comments like that make up for any negatives and keep me going. Having a dark, all over tan and being in shape helped my confidence.
Trends? People keep getting larger. There's plenty of stylish swimwear for plus size women. More women should consider one piece thongs. Tops showing lots of cleavage seem to be popular. See through fabric and mesh cover ups are popular too. I even saw those not so covering up items worn in the hotel and on city streets.
When not at the beach I wore a colorful but skimpy tank top with thong bottom, covered by mini pareo to mid thigh. No looks and no reactions, even with strong winds giving more of a view. I find it the best way to dress for dining outside in a warm, humid climate.
So my observation is this, if you are the only one with a very small swimsuit at a beach or pool, you are still just accepted as a part of the crowd. No need to go off to some more secluded spot. Get up and move around. Be active. |
