As of last weekend the boardwalk was open again with new lumber, although the restrooms, shop, and the outdoor showers were still closed off. They have portable toilets set up between the parking lot and the restroom area. |

A few nice thongs on the ladies in the day beach section. Nice to see thongs catching on and being accepted in the states. |

Date Posted：07/25/2026 09:42:05Copy HTML My wife and I finally made it back to Assateague today (Sunday) for a few hours, got there early (9:30am) after our morning run and stayed to about 1pm in our gstrings, water temperature was tolerable and no bugs. Lots of walkers on north beach but not much company, one age 30s walker couple seemed amused or happy (not sure which...kept turning around smiling, then sat in sand nearby watching) guess they wanted to see us in the surf but that was the most excitement we experienced. The state park was full with a line to the bridge when we were leaving. |

Saw a M/F couple not too far up wearing thongs and a few single guys farther north in thongs. To my surprise no nudity this year. That's my report from this past week and I'm sticking to it. |

She was wearing WW suit and I had on a thong. Great sunny day. A few horse flies. Jellyfish have been bad but it has started clearing up. Went about 1/2-3/4 mile north. Saw about 5 other guys in thongs and there were others farther north however I didn’t walk that far. Many shell collectors, walkers and a roaming fisherman meant the suits stayed on for the entire visit. Overall other that the high traffic is was a great afternoon. That’s my report and I’m sticking to it. |

I went 3 miles up where the beach is more open with less dunes.i always cover up for walkers or whoever comes close and have always been respectful of others but im beginning to think thats not enough so i ordered 2 gstrings because it would suck to get ticketed |
Please cutback on starting new threads. Post replies to to existing threads on the subject.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
