Planning my first thong vacation and will be in Maspalomas Jun 22 - 25. May stay at a Gay resort, but a bit nervous as that is really stepping out of my comfort zone, but hey, you only go around once. Looking for suggestions, maybe someone to thong with if anyone is on the island at that time. Private message me and any current details of the good bad and ugly is appreciated.

 Someone on another board lives on Gran Canaria and has stated that he rarely wears anything. Not only the beach but much of the rest of the island is nude friendly also.

 I Will be going to Lanzarote in September, does anybody have any tips which beaches are good for thonging? It would be nice if there would be other people with thongs as well. I will be staying in Costa Teguise.

Willems - I think you could thong almost anywhere in Lanzarote - personally I would aim for a fairly busy beach. Look for places where there are plenty of people in their 20s - 40s, Don't hide away, be brave and have lots of fun.

Willems - one thing I do is Google maps to find beaches, or type a search 'Lanzarote beaches', then do a search for each beach.  Generally Tripadvisor will show up something useful from the various posts.  It does take a bit of time to do the research, but at least you can go with a list of places to visit.

I just got home after a week on Fuerteventura. I must say I was dissapointed by the number of thongs at the beach. On walks from the Aldiana hotel to Morro Jable I only saw 2-3 thongs if any at all. I wore a thong as much as possible at the beach by the lighthouse and the saladar beachbar. Looking back, I regret I didn't wear it closer to Morro Jable, fx in front of the Club Robinson Jandia, which is also more crowded. I think it would have been easier to get other beachgoers to switch to thongs there, as the hotels are closer to the beach and thus the walk back to the hotels  to change swimwear is shorter.
I would not have been interested in taking pictures. I want to show that a thong is just another style of swimwear. Not something you would have to take pictures of wearing. Agreeing on a 50-100 meters area to set up on separately would make more sense in my mind, in an attempt to change the swimwear scene in that area.

In September 2015 I was on Fuerteventura in Jandia too. It was my second visit of the island together with my gf. Indeed there were only a few thongs at the beach. My gf unfortunatly doesn't wear thongs too, but she accepts and likes it on me. In about 14 days I saw 2 men an 3-4 women. At the beach I only wore thongs and it was great. Also on our beach walks which we did every day in the morning or in the afternoon (2-3 hours). We walked down to Morro Jable to the south end of the beach or up to the north end (Iberostar Playa Gaviotas). 

The people didn't mind at all, that I was wearing thong. Some of them even smiled or looked pretty interested. Especially women who passed us together with their husbands. - Most of the husbands tried to ignore me ;-) -  I enjoyed the walks a lot :-)

We didn't rent sunbeds as we had or own big beach towels and a sunshade we bought there.  We often stayed near the lighthouse but not in the nudist area. It was an really relaxing atmosphere there.  

But we also stayed on the beach in front of the Riu Palace Jandia. There were a more people and also more women in thongs. - Which was pretty interesting. - But it was not as quiet as it was near the lighthouse.

We had a great time in both areas. 

The Canary Islands are great places to wear thong, but unfortunately there are not so many thongs at the beach. I think the main reason for this is that there are very many nude beaches and nudism is very come. - Maybe more people would wear thongs if nudism wasn't allowed.

Will be in costa calma for on week in september. Already confirmed with my hotel that we can wear thongs at the hotel pool.
So it seems all we'll need for both pool and beach are thong bikinis/one-piece thongs for my wife and thongs for myself.
I'm just a little bit nervous because it will be my first time thonging in public.
Should I leave my swim shorts at home so there will be no excuse to not wear my thongs?

Nude is common in the Canary Islands, quite normal actually. U can go nude on any beach in Spain or Spanish territory

 Me and my wife are going to Canary Islands (Fuerteventura) at the beginning of September. This will be my second holidays when I'm going to lay on a beach in thongs among other sunbathers. I'm not going to take any other swimwear with me in case of second thoughts - there will be no going back and changing decisions :) I also want to go a little more further and try put g-strings on, but I dont know how my wife will react on this sort of beachwear, as she thinks that even JS bulge thongs expose too much (on our previous holiday I had classic JS thongs and she said I had looked incredibly sexy for her). I've been thinking about it after I came back from previous holiday when I first time sunbathed in thongs in public, however I dont want to overdo and look...funnily.Do you know if it may be possible to go diving in thongs under a wetsuit in Fuerteventura? I mean, have anyone of you tried it and stayed with other people you don't know on a boat, before and after diving? What were the reactions from the stuff and other divers? I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying JS mini cheek for this occasion just to cover part of my bum.

its no problem over there.
same for the hotel swimmingpool

diving in thong under wetsuit is also posible
mostley you will be changing for diving in het harbor (Jandia)
so if you take of clothes and put on wetsuit it wil not be a problem

i am thinking of goging to fuerteventura from 8 aug to 18 aug 2017 at Jandia

@Blick, you can probably wear anything you like in the Canary Islands, but speaking personally, I would avoid the JS Bulge Thong if your wife doesn't like it - I wore one several years ago in Portugal and that seems to be the point at which my OH totally went off me wearing thongs of any style.  Prior to that she was reasonably OK with swim strings/thongs.  Now it's speedo type or nude.

 Thanks guys for your advice. Ill keep that in mind. maybe we find some quiet less crowded remote spot and I change thongs for gstrings which i find sexier. I hope i'll convience my spouse that wearing g's is not that bad, and she will feel comfortable walking around the coast with me in gstrings by her side :) Anyway i will have to prepare myself and her for this event. :) we"ll see how it goes

 Just wondering about the latest feelings of people who have been to the Jandia Princess Hotel . Is this a nice relaxing place to wear a thong poolside ?And also the beach near there . Is it reasonably ok to wear a thong there ? 
I see that the hotel has a naturist section which I guess is fairly relaxed and I was wondering about the beaches that you can walk down to . They aren't rowdy or lager fuelled . Am I likely to be the only  guy in a thong ? Thats ok but its nice to be prepared  . 
Any other hotels which are relaxed with just a short walk to a relaxed beach ? Thanks

Hi Napolean,

I've been to the Jandia Princess a few years ago. The hotel is nice and the mrs and I wore our thongs every day. Mainly in the adult pool area and the grass/hottub area next to the nudist area. Can't recall any negativity even with the wife in a WW micro every day.

The beach is a different story - you'll be overdressed even in a thong. Nothing rowdy on the beach, just people chilling in couples/families. I'd go back and I'd only bring thongs.You won't be the only guy in a thong on the beach, you might be in the hotel though.

 Thanks b21 that’s really helpful , when we be looked  at YouTube or images of the beach I got the impression that it was a typical board shorts beach . So that’s encouraging . I find thong wear more interesting than naked so I wanted that reassurance . Good that the adult area sounds tolerant too . Thanks so much .

Hello all,
I just wanted a bit of weather advice from those of you who already went to the Canary Islands. My gf and me are considering going to Fuerteventura or Lanzarote at the end of April / start of May 2019. We were wondering: is the sea temperature enjoyable in April/May? Can we swim or is it too cold? Also, from what I read I'm under the impression that it's possible to sunbathe at the Canary Islands year-round, feel free to correct me if it's not the case.

I've been to the Canaries in winter, you certainly can sunbathe there in Dec/Jan, and sea swimming would be fine in April (average sea temp in April is 
20°C )

I emailed my fuerteventura hotel in advance to ask about their policy on guys wearing thongs around the pool as I was interested , this was their reply ,

Dear Client , thank you very much for your email . 
We always ask our guests to respect one another and so everyone can enjoy their holiday .Taking into account that a thong is a tiny piece of clothing we recommend to only wear it around the pool area  and beach . All clients are asked not to wear swimwear in the restaurant. Alsotake into account that other guests (especially families) might react in a certain way . We will accept you wearing a thong around the pool area and beach .Kind regards .....

I thought that was a very positive and reasonable response .

I am currently in Fuertaventura Esquinzo beach with my wife. Are there any other thongers out there? 
I haven't seen a true thong on man or woman on the beach yet which is a bit dissapointing. We have been mostly nude on the beach but i have worn a jovana knob micro thong and skinz y back at our pool.

just came back from Tenerife, Puerto de la Cruz. Beach is perfect to thong, a lot of women in thong an d G-string.
I have seen  two more man in a thong.
We visit to times the Lago Martianez, this is a very large pool with salt water filled. It wan't that crowdy last week. I have worn for sunbathing my Skinz M55, en for swimming a more conservative thong from Manstore, no complains at all. I walked through the pool area with this thong!! Je have some staring people, but i don't care.
Next time only in my G...
 Here also alot of girls women wearing small bikinis and thongs.
Hope to go in the spring back there.

@HenleyonThames - Canary Islands are generally good for nude in most places - so thongs wont be a problem.  Puerto Del Carmen doesn't have the nicest beaches (in my view) but then I dont like the volcanic grey shale/sand.

Best beaches in Lanzarote are Playa Mujeres and Playa Papagayos in Playa Blanca. Thongs are no problem there.

A quick update. I’m thonging without issue at the beaches in Puerto Del Carmen and visiting Playa Papagayos later in the week.

Due to the time of year there is a much smaller and older crowd with other thongers practically non existent. Only seen a handful of females so far and no other males.

I’m off to Corralejo in a few days for a week of R&R and hopefully some late summer sun to burn in a good winter tan line!!!

I’ve not been to Fuerteventura before and picked this area of the island for its 10km’s of reportedly quiet, sandy beaches and tolerance to minimal swimwear. 

Determined to get the best, most unique tan line I can I’ve decided to pack only the 6 new, truly tiny, latex one-sided suits Val has just made for me…….. 

So I guess my question is, for anyone that knows this resort…….. 

Should I pack a couple of more conservative suits too?

We walked down to Morro Jable to the south end of the beach or up to the north end (Iberostar Playa Gaviotas). The people didn't mind at all, that I was wearing thong. Some of them even smiled or looked pretty interested. Especially women who passed us together with their husbands. - Most of the husbands tried to ignore me ;-) - I enjoyed the walks a lot :-) We didn't rent sunbeds as we had or own big beach towels and a sunshade we bought there. We often stayed near the lighthouse but not in the nudist area. It was an really relaxing atmosphere there. But we also stayed on the beach in front of the Riu Palace Jandia. There were a more people and also more women in thongs. - Which was pretty interesting. - But it was not as quiet as it was near the lighthouse. We had a great time in both areas. The Canary Islands are great places to wear thong, but unfortunately there are not so many thongs at the beach. I think the main reason for this is that there are very many nude beaches and nudism is very come. - Maybe more people would wear thongs if nudism wasn't allowed.

I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying JS mini cheek for this occasion just to cover part of my bum.

Prior to that she was reasonably OK with swim strings/thongs. Now it's speedo type or nude. Enjoy Fuerteventura!

The hotel is nice and the mrs and I wore our thongs every day. Mainly in the adult pool area and the grass/hottub area next to the nudist area. Can't recall any negativity even with the wife in a WW micro every day. The beach is a different story - you'll be overdressed even in a thong. Nothing rowdy on the beach, just people chilling in couples/families. I'd go back and I'd only bring thongs.You won't be the only guy in a thong on the beach, you might be in the hotel though.

I have seen two more man in a thong. We visit to times the Lago Martianez, this is a very large pool with salt water filled. It wan't that crowdy last week. I have worn for sunbathing my Skinz M55, en for swimming a more conservative thong from Manstore, no complains at all. I walked through the pool area with this thong!! Je have some staring people, but i don't care. Next time only in my G... Here also alot of girls women wearing small bikinis and thongs. Hope to go in the spring back there.

Puerto Del Carmen doesn't have the nicest beaches (in my view) but then I dont like the volcanic grey shale/sand.

I’m thonging without issue at the beaches in Puerto Del Carmen and visiting Playa Papagayos later in the week. Due to the time of year there is a much smaller and older crowd with other thongers practically non existent. Only seen a handful of females so far and no other males.
