I'd welcome some feedback from this trip because June 1 through June 7 I'm going somewhere but haven't narrowed it down... I'll either go to cancun, tulum, or back to st martin. Even thought about going to Miami but I'm not sure yet.

Going to Excellence Riviera Cancun in April. Anyone been there in a thong?

Currently at Ezcellence Riviera Cancun. No thongs on any men but women-yes. A few ither men other than me wearing bikini suits. Shorter trunks are now the norm on almost all men. Rare to see shorts touching the knees.

That was exactly the scene when I went back in December South of you toward Tulum. Shorts on most all the guys.. only a couple speedos and one other Bikini guy. The thongs on women were plentiful and everywhere you looked you would see some kind of thong in view. Because of that I wore 1/2 inch side skinz bikinis everywhere I went and didn’t have any issues. Stripped down to a small string thong for tanning and nobody cared.

Cancún and the Riviera Maya are generally very open to skimpy swimwear, but hotel policies can vary. My wife and I, both in our 40s, have stayed in over 15 hotels in the area, and I'll be sharing our experiences in several parts. Generally, I go for trunks, while my wife rocks micro thongs. Ocean Maya Royale: An adults-only hotel north of Playa del Carmen with many young tourists. My wife, along with slightly less than half of the women, wore thongs. Secrets Moxché: A beautiful resort, probably the best we've been to! A fit man in his 50s confidently sporting a thong, with only one other woman and my wife in thongs. Truth be told, the swimwear was somewhat conservative despite it being an adults-only resort. Platinum Yucatan Princess: Fantastic adults-only resort! Although not exactly a thong, I wore swim trunks a bit smaller than Speedos without any issues. Most women were in thongs, and my wife wore an almost see-through Wicked Weasel that left little to the imagination, along with a low-rise G-string that essentially showcased her entire cheek. It seems no one complained; instead, my wife received many looks and compliments for how she looked. I'll report on other hotels later. Cheers!

My wife and I are headed to Cancun in a couple of weeks. We are staying at the Westin Lagunamar. Does anyone have any experience with this resort or resorts that are in the hotel zone?
