About 4 years ago, I was near Myrtle Beach trying to get up the nerve to wear skimpy bikinis and thongs.  This was my first week of wearing any of these in public.

I was wearing a lime green string bikini from Prevail Sport.   A young lady, maybe 30, came walking down the beach with a white dog.   Once they got close, the dog came up to me.  I was petting the dog when the lady walked up to me.  She first asked if the dog was mine and I replied that it wasn't and that I actually thought it was her dog.  We talked for 20 to 30 minutes, the entire time she kept looking down at my bikini.  She finally started asking me about it such as if I was nervous wearing it, said that she rarely sees anything like that around there and that she liked it.  She then said it looks very thin and said it must be transparent when it got wet.  I said I wasn't sure because it was the first time I had worn it.    At that time a large group of guys in those long shorts came along; they made several very rude comments.   They girl left, with the dog, and the guys finally did too.  Anyway, I left.

Two or three days later, I went back to nearly the same area.  Before I even got my shorts off, I saw the same lady with her dog (the dog that she acted like wasn't hers).  She came up to me again and asked if I was going for a swim.  I said that I might if the water was nice.  She had a seat in the sand and her dog laid down a few feet from her.   I slipped off my shorts, revealing the same style of bikini but this one was yellow.  She said, "oooh, Yellow, I like those even more".    Then she said, it is a lot warmer today, the water should be great.  A few minutes later, I went into the water for a little while.  I honestly had not checked the material when wet and I had no intentions of "flashing" or anything like that.  I just wanted to wear them for myself.   I did unexpect her interest but did enjoy it.    As I came out of the ocean, she got a huge smile on her face.  I went back to my towel, not far from her.  She just stared.  Finally she said that they were completely see through and that she really like them.   Since then, I've worn the same style, or even their smaller Capri style, but in a little darker color.

Another Great day at Folley Beach.  Got to wear my thong all day.  I was looked at a few times and got a couple hellos from the women.  Hope to be there tommorrow as well.  Hope to see some fellow thongers!!!

And I'd heard that most of the gay's hang out near the Beach Park. I was told that if you go to the beach park head out onto the beach, then head down to the right away from the concessions and lifeguards, you'd run into the area where most of the gays hang out, is this still true?

Not that I have anything against gays, I have quite a few gay friends, both male and female.

I remember seeing a male and female on the beach AQug 6th. The was in a g-string and he wore what I think was a pouch thong. They were down in the last section bewtween the groins right before the beach wraps around to the lighthouse. Also one of 2 areas that sea turtles nest. I would have walked up to talk with the couple but my niece was with me.

OK kids, here is the conundrum. 
  
The SC law states :SECTION 16-15-130. Indecent exposure. [SC ST SEC 16-15-130]

It is unlawful for a person to wilfully, maliciously, and indecently expose his person in a public place, on property of others, or to the view of any person on a street or highway.

I don't know where ThongloverOBX got his  A,B, C stuff but it's not in that part of the South Carolina code.

I think there may be some confusion because there is a definition in  SECTION 16-15-375. Definitions applicable to Sections 16-15-385 through 16-15-425  (6) "Sexually explicit nudity" means the showing of:  1. (a) uncovered, or less than opaquely covered human genitals, pubic area, or buttocks....

BUT ! This is only about the definition of "Sexually explicit nudity" and only for sections 385 through 425, that have to do with things like child prostitution.   It does not define "indecently" as used in 16-15-130 and it does not apply to 16-15-130, it only applies to 16-15-385 thorough 16-15-425. 

I am not a lawyer and this should not be considered to be legal advice in what ever state, or state of mind, you are in.   But, to be guilty of Indecent exposure, under 16-15-130 it looks like you also need to be wilfully, maliciously, and indecent.  Dressing in a thong covers willful, you decided to wear a thong.  On the other hand watching the state trying to prove malicious intent would be interesting.   Wearing a thong would show that you intended to cover, and therefor protect others from the view of your sexual organs.  Protecting others does not sound very malicious to me.  Reading the SC law it seems that 'Malicious' is used with refrence to doing phisical or financial harm to others. 

Note: I have not found a definition of "indecently expose" in any of the SC definitions so I guess that is up to the case law.  Let me say this again, I am not a lawyer, so don't take my legal advice.

 Sec. 14-83. Indecent exposure

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally appear in any public place in such a state of dress or undress so as to expose to the view of others the human male or female genitals, pubic area, pubic hair, buttocks, anus, vulva or any portion of the female breast at or below the areola thereof.

(b) Upon determination that any person is in violation of this section, a police officer shall issue a warning to the offending person and afford that person an opportunity to properly cover himself or herself or leave the public place. If the offending person does not immediately and appropriately respond to the warning, he or she shall be charged with a violation of this Code.

Perhaps everyone should start visiting Cedar Creek Nudist Resort in Pelion, SC. No tops, no bottoms, NO PROBLEM! Stopped there this week on my way home from a sales trip through SC and spent a quiet 1.5 hrs at the pool and hot tub with nothing on.

Why doesnt someone check out Pawley's Island just north of Georgetown?

Pawleys isnt busy at all, I've heard it even more quiet than Sullivan's and IOP.

Folly Island police FDept are the only ones who patrol the beaches. They dont have a 'beach patrol" per say.

I guess it's a case of what alltan64 said.

I have pictures that I've taken that show the layout of both end of Folly beach, the light house end and the beach park end. I did alot of researching in August to find paces for either thongin or nude bathing and what the "beach traffic" scene looked like. How many people wondered by, any beach bikers, or joggers.

If anyone wants more info, PM me. I can email pictures of the lay of the land if needed.

I kinda figured it'd be dead this time of year. It was 69 today and should have been a good day for hangin out and roaminmg without being disturbed.

What about fishermen in boats? were there many zipping past the lighthouse?
