No walking around unless theres no foot traffic anywhere near you, very few or no hoatsnon the sandbar, and you have binoculars to see that there isnt any bird watchers way down by the trees. There are currently signs up due to neating season, so the damn bird watching geeks will be out. Bird watchers have spotting scopes way more powerful than binox and they use tripods to stability.
Just strip and stay in your chair or laying down.

I had a great view of the Morris Island Lighthouse from where I was at. The girls later approached from the hidden trail behind me. I didn't even know that trail was there as I had walked along the water's edge passing the jetties and the concrete formation. The tide was down when I arrived but when we left, I walked the trail back to Ashley Ave. I did get a couple of pictures while there. |

It's a trail that we use when the tide is fairly high. Most of the thonging and nude sunbathing area is further out the long stretch of beach which was to your left.

Also more and more thongs and g-strings too - last Saturday, probably a few dozen. No guys however in anything but board shorts.
With the fact that Myrtle beach banned thongs ( so now they get the kids and 20 year olds showing their underwear with their 'sagger jeans' - I just think that's a silly look), Folly is getting more of the people who embrace the sun and tans.
Hope it continues. Folly is a great beach and people are usually very laid back and happy. By the way - we want to keep it like that - we don't want to be like Myrtle.

Being a bit braver that usual as I did not walk way down to the far end of the beach. G-stringed it. A few people walking but no comments or anything. Since it was Friday morning not as many people out. I think I will start staying a bit closer

The sandbar seems to be elongated right now but completly disappears ar near high tide. All boats vacated by high tide leaving us the only ones out there.
A couple of useless fishermen shortly before leaving. Nice thong on a female near the rock jetti at the wns of the sand trail from the pavement.
It just baffles me that i never see anyone out there on the weekeneds! I know most go out there during the week cause everyone is at work, but the weekends really pose no issues for thongin , or nude, but not walking around nude. I save that for later on Sat and Sun.

Both mornings there were fishermen and a few other people on the beach in sight but no crowds at all.
Sat morning I ran from the cement square structure to the point and back in my speedo. Saw some great dolphin action. When I got back no one was around so I stripped down and jumped in the water. When I came out I noticed I had company. A couple were walking down to the water, nude. They had setup right between the rock jetty and cement structure. I waved and they waved back and I went on my way.
Sunday morning was another beautiful start of a day. I did the same run and swim. Saw one female couple in thongs and one male in thong, fisherman were out but did not seem to care about anyone else on the beach.
On Folly beach itself there were a few men in speedos, mostly board shorts though. A few females in thongs, but mostly standard cheeky bikinis.

So left us and the bike guy we see out their almost every time we go.. Was able to thong and go nude almost all day had to only cover 5 times while were out their with runners and walkers so not to bad for 7 hours at the beach...

5here is an enclosed pontoon that goes to the sandbar with their 2 dogs. I was out there with a German couple and he was walking naked to and from the water. Shortly after seeing that pk toon leaving, 4.....yes FOUR sherrifs on FOOT walked alllll the way down to me and asked if anyone was naked. I told him i was in a thong and was prepared to show him, but he didnt ask for ID and toldbgg me to make sure its obvious i have something on. And with that, they left. I walked over and gave the German couple a heads up to cover up cause cops were heading in our direction. But i didnt nark them out for being naked. The guy also got naked again when the cops were only half way diwn the beach. He was being abit too risky, and potentially causing problems for those of is that are alittle more discreet. Sure, walk around, but not when a boat is going by. This is precisely how the cops ended up out there this day.

Anyone going out to Folly to the lighthouse end to lay out in a thong or topless, or at all.......there is a pay parking lot on the right before you get to the turn around.
Its called Summer Place Dr. The pay kiosk is at the end towards the brqch cross over.
Problem is...it is NOW, a 2 hour maximum pay lot.
You used to be able to pay $10 and park thwre all day.
Not now!
However, you also CANT park right off the side of thw road either. That will get you a $150 parking ticket.
The only other option is to park back at the Washout and bike all the way out to where you can (carefully) go nude or wear a thong and go topless.
Giess I wont be hitting Folly until thia crap is lifted.

In this same pay parking lot (Summer Place Dr) there is a sign to download the Passport App on your phone.
Download it, and USE THE APP to pay for parking!
If you use the machine, you can only stay for 2 hours and CANT reload your stay. And, you have to leave for like 3 hours because it registers your license plate. Using someone else's card will NOT work!
If you use the App, you CAN pay $10 and stay all day without having to repay.

Thongs are completely tolerated by folly police on the island. I was just in a G-string if G-string down at 1 of the last 2 areas between the groans facing out into the ocean near the seawall last weekend. Folly police on their 4x4 golf cart passed me 4 times and only waived and within 20 feet of me laying on my stomach. Not a word was said. I even walked to and from the water in my g string without issue.. but then again down on those last 2 sections between the grions, there was hardly anybody around. Even foot traffic didn't say anything.
As for way out on the tip of the island, overlooking the lighthouse, you're still fine for thongs, topless and even carefully nude but don't walk around naked unkeasnits like before 7am.
Have seen thongs all up and down Folly, at the washout and even down by the (under construction) pier and at the county park end of Folly.
In conclusion...Folly is a GO for thongs and g strings. |

Just beyond the last houses but before you get to the end of the beach. I wore a Joe Snyder bulge thong. I didn’t see any police but did see a woman several times in a “gator” enforcing the no dogs after 10am policy. I have no idea what her position was as she didn’t have on any uniform and the “gator” had no markings. I had one lady creep up on me to about 20’ and she took my photo as if I wasn’t there or looking right at her. When she came back I was face down and she walked above me close to the dunes and took a few more pics of my backside. I guess she liked what she saw. I had a similar experience with a few 20 something girls. We had a foreign couple with their son set up close to us and during one trip to the water the father went over and told my wife how great it was that I was doing “my own thing.” We then chatted after I exited the water and he invited us to join his family. It was a fun day. |

With the current fashion, banning thongs was too time consuming and challenging. Now if we just could get social media to join the free the nipple movement…. Beach has been packed every weekend, and yes, the traffic on Folly road is horrible every Saturday and Sunday, but its the price we pay to live here. A few couples in thongs, the more brave guys too, mostly up past 6th block where there are less families.
The end of Folly by the lighthouse is getting very popular for clothing optional as well. Just be sure to cover up when the bird ladies show up. |

Wore their tiny g string on folly around 6th street. Many other thongs on women. Probably 15+ in the time I was there. I got some smiles and laughs. Got a couple thumbs ups. It was good.
Then next morning I walked the whole length of the beach in a 1cm camo muscle skins thong. Got lots of looks. It was a great time. No one said anything so it was all good. A handful of thongs on women but that’s because it was so early. Really hot young girls x2 were surfing and thonging. I stopped to watch a bit. One of the girls saw me wearing my tiny thong and PPH ted at me. Great day of thonging in public. No towel on hand just my phone and keys and a thong and I walked about 6 miles total. It was so liberating!
I came back to the hotel the next day in Charleston. They had a pool. I asked the front desk if thongs were OK she said absolutely. I also asked if they had towels down there. She said she thought so but come back up if not. I went down. Didn’t see any towels so I stripped down to my thong and my shoes still on and walked back up to the second floor lobby. There was a Hispanic lady wiping the elevators down. I stood there in my bulge thong waiting for the receptionist to come back. She did. I asked for the towel and stood there where she could clearly see my thong. She definitely spent some time with her eyes down there and I continued the small talk a bit. It was exhilarating. Great thonging trip to Charleston. |

Wife and I are just 2 miles inland from the beach so get down there often. Great to see that there are many thong wearing girls and guys. Most Saturdays you can see many ladies in thong and g-strings even on Center street.
We often get down towards 4th and 6th block east as we have friends living beachfront there so parking is easy. Never have any issues with g-strings - even some of our Tangaland24.de German micro suits. We try and be a bit discrete and not show off too much.
Now the alternative is our own C/O backyard pool fully surrounded by 20' high bamboo and our banana trees.
Enjoy and perhaps we will run into you sometime. |

Sunset Beach in Brunswick County,NC has made thongs legal, mainly because the Chief of police did not want his troops to becoming butt inspectors. The only problem is that many Karen's and Ken's don't realize this, and call the beach patrol or police and waste the authority's time getting the facts explained to them. There is a NC State Wildlife reserve at the far western end of the island. As this is state lands, once past the town limits, women may be topfree legally, but almost none do it. With care, if remote enough, some people go nude. One thing to note, the area around the Little River stone jetty to the inlet is actually in Horry County,SC. The Horry County regulations apply, but in 16 or so years I've not seen them enforced. |

Please cutback on starting new threads. Post replies to to existing threads on the subject.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
