I neither advertise or cover up (!) what I wear. On several occasions I have bumped into friends / neighbours without warning. I have simply carried as normal. I have sometimes heard of reference to what I wear & simply fail to acknowledge or comment. I act as if it is a non event, no more newsworthy than say what make of car I drive - Mercedes as it so happens. All my lap swimming friends & pool staff see what I wear & it is a non issue. As ever secret is to act totally normally.

Yes, but the reactions are often embarrassment from individuals when topic is mentioned. Either too shy to voice the word describing a thong or whisper "the thing you wear", (not typo). Mature single lady neighbor visiting my patio i hiked my string thong above my shorts. Returned from the beach thought i was able send subtle message what i wear without actually commenting or revealing myself only wearing a thong. She certainly noticed wide eyed in utter shock when leaving the patio at dusk. My narrow skinny string straps over my shorts and hips with shirtless torso revealed as much as i could. Never has lady neighbor uttered a single word about my beach attire being a thong. Although she did question confused reason why i was reprimanded at the gym pool. Never mentioned it was because of my thong. She smart lady feel she can figure it out. In fact invitation to join her at condo pool. Although never materialized since i told her didn't want her to be kicked out or suspended because of me.. Eventually she clued in that i maybe wearing too little coverage.

If they don’t know I wear thing swimwear they are either blind or keeping their eyes closed. I don’t hide what I’m wearing to the beach/pool/resort. If some one asks what type of swimwear I prefer I’ll tell them “that would be a thong.” I’ve gotten a few people saying that wasn’t right, but most are curious and ask about comfort, where I can wear one and why do I wear a thong? Afterwards Most people Are good with it and telling they envy my confidence.

@stringueur....I mean fifi, if you come to the USA, at least now you know... On a side note, I cut out all the liners in my short swim trunks that I wear for work. I wear thong swimwear underneath that clearly reveal a line...I stopped caring if it's revealed

I don't hide the fact that I wear thong swimwear, but at the same time, I don't announce it. The reason why my most of my friends haven't seen me in thong swimwear is simply that I don't go to the beach with them. Only one friend has seen me in thong swimwear. I was at an urban beach and called a friend who lived nearby. He stopped by during his lunch break. I was in a thong swimsuit and didn't cover up. He didn't say anything about my thong, and we chatted for an hour.

For many years I have made sure that everyone knows I am wearing a thong. People I know, people I don't, and all the tourists: Be that on the beach, the waterways or driving the street looking at houses. One can't normalize thong wearing unless people regularly see thong wearers, being normal. I don't think I am an exhibitionist, in that I don't want to show my willy or arouse their sexual interest. I just want them to see men in thongs, to know men wear thongs, and can wear them without a care. The most powerful acceptance trick is publicly thonging with people around. When new people come on the scene they see nobody else appears phased, so they sit down and shut up too. It seems to work through the unspoken interconnection language of humans in groups. If you come upon something unexpected when you are alone, you have to make an evaluation and decision. If you come into an existing situation where there area already people, you defer to the early arrivals. I like that people see me in a thong. It is a pity that I am now old and wrinkly, no longer the slender fit 20 year old, the hard muscled 40 year old runner. However this may have the advantage that young men don't see me as a hostile competitor for their women but give me a smile, cheer and high-five instead.
