Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:10/19/2014 08:33:29Copy HTML Couldn't agree more with 32189.
While I've no doubt some adults honestly think thong wearers are a threat to a child's mental well being, many simply use children as an excuse for their own insecurities. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:10/30/2014 07:51:51Copy HTML The kids angle is applied to more conservative suits of various bikini styles as well as thongs. I agree with Grabeach that many simply use children as an excuse for either insecurities or their personal attitudes, or whatever. While I notice kids, especially smaller ones, sometimes looking, I think their are just taking in the world like they do with everything else. I don't think it warps them or upsets them except top the extent that they have been taught against such things already.
I swim laps in a public pool, and i never wear a thong. I'd prefer to wear skimpy bikinis, but the management, who tolerate that themselves, get complaints. So I have to limit it to skimpy speedo styles. I try to avoid kids, not to avoid adversely affecting them, which I don't think is a problem, but to avoid the hassle of adults. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:11/22/2014 06:09:36Copy HTML Young kids only care about what they are doing, and a radius of about 2 metres around themselves!
As they get a little older, they notice things that are different from the norm, but only from an inquisitive point of view. Then they start school, and society worms it way into their brains... After a total of about five hours walking on the beach through some of the most crowded areas Australia has to offer, I've concluded there are only a very small percentage of people with an actual problem about thong wearing. I swam at a crowded swimming complex this week as well, in an Olaf Benz black thong. One pool had around 20 squad members training (including an Australian Olympian) and three coaches, while the next pool where I swam laps had at least 25 people across 10 lanes of varying ages (15-75yo) and four attendants. Yeah sure, a few people had a good look, and maybe commented to someone close by, but nobody commented to me, while a few engaged in the usual 'Hello' or small talk. Just normal stuff. I got no more reaction than when I wear my bright coloured (flouro pink, yellow, green, orange) Waveline 1" briefs. The more you do it, the easier it is to feel and act comfortably, and that's when you are accepted more readily. So, do it. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:05/15/2015 11:52:19Copy HTML Well I finally got the courage to do it. I have worn rio cuts to LA Fitness but last week I decided what the heck and proudly put on my thong and walked out of the dressing room to the pool. I rinsed off then jumped into the pool and swam laps for a short while. I then got out and went in the hot tub. It felt pretty good just wearing a thong with two walls of glass to the outside and reception desk. No one said anything to me, not expecting them to, but if you act as though it is normal procedure, most people accept. Looking forward to doing again. The more people do it, the more accepted.

Poimbeach, you're not home and hosed yet. The times that I have been asked to 'cover up' at a local Olympic pool have usually been on the second visit. I figured it usually takes a bit of time for any complaint to work its way through the system. At the other extreme, at one pool I was once asked to cover up for the first time on my 68th visit. Fortunately this was only for that day.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:11/28/2015 02:44:17Copy HTML This is an awesome message board. At first my gym had a sign posted stating that thongs were not allowed. However I wore a speedo swim thong and swam laps while a women' water aerobics class was going on. There were no complaints. Then I noticed that the signs were changed to say only that cut offs were not allowed and that only swimwear was allowed. (The kind of swimwear was not listed) Also required was a soap shower before swimming. So I have been able to wear swim thongs now for the last four years for lap swimming. I think if you are a swimmer and fit, then you should try the swim thong at the local gym. Does anyone have experience wearing a swim jock for lap swimming? The swimjock is a new style sold at Cover Male and Joe Snyder and some others that is like a thong since it does not provide any rear coverage.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:11/28/2015 11:04:58Copy HTML Over the last four years, I’ve swum laps and sunned 357 times (yes I do keep a diary)
at 23 different Sydney and Wollongong outdoor pools. That is the type that you
usually pay to enter and have a pool manager and lifeguards. Some of these had
gyms, some didn’t. Occasionally I've had the place to myself, sometimes I've had trouble finding room for my towel on the grass. For various reasons I have only been to several of these pools
once or twice. About half have been ten or more visits and the most visits to a
single pool is 89. For what it’s worth here are my suggestions.
From my observations and occasional discussions with them, it is apparent that with regard to ‘showing your bum’ swimwear, managers and lifeguards only have a problem if somebody complains. Once that happens you will be asked to ‘cover up’, though some of those I’ve got to know reasonably well will try and talk the complainer around. With the above in mind, it is logical that one does their best to avoid complaints, while still achieving their desired aim. While it may be liberating to wander to and from the change rooms or to the shop in your thong, this will greatly increase the odds of someone complaining. Ditto if you plant yourself near a group of young kids taking swimming lessons. They probably won’t even notice, but their parents will. So if you like the feeling of actually swimming in a thong, then I’d suggest keeping your shorts on till you’re about to enter the water and do so from the least crowded end of the pool. Wrap a towel around you when walking back to the showers. In my case, I like to lie in the sun in a g-string and read and don’t care what I wear in the pool (board shorts the exception of course). To this end I wear 25mm side swim briefs while swimming my laps and generally keep a low profile while sunning. Depending on the pool this may actually be choosing a popular area where many others are laying out so I blend in. It is rarely near the picnic tables where large family groups congregate. Common sense will usually tell you the best place to sun. If your thing is strutting around so that everybody notices you, I’d recommend you go to a beach instead. At most pools you won’t last very long. Finally, sometimes even after doing all the right things someone will still complain and a lifeguard will ask you to cover up. They don't get any joy out of having to do this, so don't argue. Be friendly, politely accept their decision and there's a reasonable chance next time you're there you won't have any problems. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:11/29/2015 01:13:27Copy HTML It makes a lot of sense to wrap a towel around when wearing a thong at a public swimming pool while walking around before and after coming from the pool.
If anyone had a negative vibe against men wearing thongs in public, I reckon that the towel around the waist would definitely tone the perception down. And if anyone wanted to complain, it would not succeed because the guy is obviously not showing off. It shows a confident guy who happens to wear a thong and doesn't pretend to be a show off . I love the idea of walking around wearing just at thong at the public pool, but I prefer to leave that for the beach. There's something about the beach that makes it so different and more acceptable. Perhaps it's the perception of more family oriented environment that prevails at swimming pools. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:11/29/2015 04:25:54Copy HTML I think John makes a very valid point. I was recently traveling in China and always stay in hotels with pools. The Westin in Xi;'an has a beautiful big lap pool and I wore a towel to and from the men's locker room. There was some notice, but no big deal. I think it was more related to the brevity of the garment than my backside, since I was sitting on a lounge at the time. China is a pretty conservative place and even though hotels tend to be full of "global" people, I was still careful. Interestingly, the men using the sauna, steam and whirlpool were all nude despite the posted requirement for"swimwear" in the list of "no alcohol", "don't do this if you're pregnant" etc. on the locker room wall.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:02/29/2016 11:24:14Copy HTML I have recently joined a hotel leisure club in our nearby city. I use the facilites 3 times per week. After working out in the gym I use the pool for lap swimming. As it tends to be mornings it is always quiet therefore I wear a g string and triangle top. No one has made a comment so far ! I sometimes wait until the lifeguard is at poolside checking water levels before exiting the pool. Swimming to the shallow end steps, removing my googles then standing up. I then slowly walking up the steps ensuring that I slide my fingers round the sides of my string pulling it high on my hips. I am such a tease. If the pool is very quiet I do enjoy lying in the steam room topless, only once have I had someone else in with me and he did not mind ! ! I do act responsibly if there are children around and wear a high cut Ujena one piece.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:03/01/2016 08:13:45Copy HTML Good on ya Swimbabe... I doubt you would get any negative reactions; you probably would if you were a male. It's great that you are contributing to make wearing a thong normal in swimming pools too.
I'm sure the lifeguard has aleady checked you out while you swim; the shape of the bathers people wear is quite easy to distinguish from outside the pool. But for the part of your exit from the pool, it requires to be a bit more refined I believe there's a split of a second when a male can check her out upside down in detail (and why not a bit of lust), that feels so good. I do it all the time and must admit have become almost an expert; the trick is don't let her realise that you have 'absolutely' checked her out. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:03/02/2016 01:15:34Copy HTML I'm jealous of you Swimbabe. In a previous posting in this thread I had said that a 70 year old woman complained about a cheeky suit. Just in the past 3 weeks there have been women in the same style of cheeky suits at the club. When the weather gets really nice I'm sure there will be a lot more. I wonder what the 70 year old prude will be saying about them? I may wear my JS mini-cheek when there are lot of women wearing them. I would think that if she says my suit is inappropriate that I'd have to ask her about all of the women with their butt cheeks on display.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:10/12/2017 08:01:27Copy HTML On arriving recently at one of my favourite Olympic pools, I realised I didn't have the briefs that I
wear when doing laps. I had come by public transport , so returning home to re-equip was not an option. Bit the bullet and did the laps in Lane 1 in my Skinz
M1R2 g-string. The lifeguard standing nearby didn't say a thing. A guy in Lane 2 coaching his
10? year old daughter was quite friendly. A regular mega-lap swimmer and local
identity who I often chat with was
leaving after trying out a new type of long sleeve / long leg sun suit for
swimming. We exchanged friendly barbs about the other's attire. A few other
people in the vicinity didn't pay any attention.
Not withstanding the successful outcome, I will stick with the more conservative styles for laps. While it didn't happen, it felt like I could slip out of the g at any time. This has happened in choppy harbour / ocean pools on occasions, but one is far less visible there than in a clear Olympic pool. And as I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm sure regularly swimming laps in a g would increase the chance of someone complaining, which may then jeopardise my continued ability to lay out in a g after swimming my laps. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:12/19/2017 04:02:33Copy HTML I’ve been wearing my JOR Ipanema thong at Lifetime Fitness to swim laps and in hot tub. No one has said anything. I do cover up with a towel to walk around the pool usually. I’ve even worn my JS g-string before and people ha no reaction. This was later in the evening so there were less people and no only adults present.
When I swim with my kids I wear my Rufskin cheeky swimsuit and no reaction from anyone. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:01/07/2018 10:04:08Copy HTML The past 2 summers I have been able to stay most of the summer at a lake cabin in northern Wisconsin, U.S.A. I enjoy swimming laps parallel to the shore and most often wear a thong. Only on weekends when there are a lot of boats on the lake, I wear a Speedo type suit. I know I've been seen by passing boaters, but I'm concentrating on my swimming, so I don't notice. Frankly I don't care. It feels great to swim in a thong.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:07/21/2018 06:46:16Copy HTML I've been building up the nerve to do this for years now. Since I'll be graduating soon, I decided it was now or never.
Most people who use this gym are undergraduates and quite a bit younger than me, but I am fit and still youthful looking and occasionally get mistaken for an undergrad. Also, many older staff and faculty also use the rec center, so I am somewhere in the middle of age demographic there. Not that that matters -- people of all ages and physiques should be able to wear what they like. However, being youngish and fit made me more confident. I was a little nervous a colleague would recognize me, but since I'm moving on soon the consequences would not follow me around for long. Also, a few years ago they changed their facility rules. They began allowing tank tops and muscle shirts in the weight area, and they removed language that explicitly prohibited thongs. On my way in, I noticed an undergrad who I had taught a class to. We had run into each other at the gym beforehand from time to time and chatted a little about job hunting. In the showers, I was much more nervous than I thought I'd be and even got the jitters. I put on my thong which had a conservative, athletic-looking front. I left the drawstring untucked to complete the athletic look. The straps are thick along the waist but the back strap narrows very quickly down to 1/2 inch at the bottom, so it is totally lost in my butt crack before halfway down. This particular gym has a weird setup. The pool is surrounded on all sides by two stories of glass windows that offer views between the pool and the fitness areas. All the weight benches and cardio machines are up against the windows, pointing at the pool. It's nicknamed "the fishbowl". Since this was my first time trying this, I decided to be conservative by wearing my towel on the walk to poolside, where there are rows of hooks to hang your towel or belongings. I put on my towel and paused at the doorway out of the showers and took a deep breath. I opened the door. There were about 6 people using the pool, with one open lane plus a lifeguard, no doubt a student employee. She gave me a big smile and said hello, which I thought was a good start, but my heart was still pounding. I got to the poolside, removed my towel and slipped into the water. I don't think anyone was even looking as I did this. I put on my goggles and got started on my first lap. My lane was the farthest to the side, one of the less visible ones, but still very visible to most of the gym. Actually, if you're using the cardio machines, it is impossible to not notice all of the people swimming. The next series of events was interesting. None of the other swimmers showed any signs of caring. However, after the first lap, the lifeguard was staring, covering her mouth with her hand. On my next lap, she was looking but had managed to close her mouth. So far, so good, I thought, and decided that it would be ok to do flip turns. However, I only ever did one, because on my next lap, I noticed she had abruptly come down off of her lifeguard chair and appeared to be speaking into her radio. I panicked a little, certain that I was about to get kicked out, but decided to press on regardless (albeit without the flip turns). On the next couple of laps the lifeguard stood on the opposite side of the lifeguard chair, almost as though she were hiding, but I noticed she was staring again and appeared to be stifling laughter. I flipped over onto my back and began doing some kicking exercises. In this position it looked like I was wearing an ordinary brief even though everyone who was going to notice the thong probably already had. After a few more minutes without being approached, I figured I was safe now, I went back to freestyle. On my first lap, though, I noticed that a manager had entered the pool area and was talking closely with the lifeguard. "Here we go," I thought. But, after a couple more laps he had left, and the lifeguard had returned to her chair and seemed to be directing her attention elsewhere. I continued my workout, using the kickboard, doing freestyle without flipturns, and doing kicking exercises on my back. From then on, I didn't notice anything different from any other time I've swam wearing conservative briefs, except some of the people using treadmills on the floor above might have been pointing phones at me. Not wanting stare, I didn't get a good enough look to confirm this. When the time came to finish, I used the ladder to climb out of the pool. I wrapped the towel around me and walked the gauntlet of windows that separated me from the showers. Nobody seemed to pay any special interest. As I passed the lifeguard she gave me the same big smile and told me to have a great weekend. I told her to do the same. My best guess is, she initially freaked out and called the manager. Not wanting to deal with it, or not caring, he told her to let it be until there were any complaints. However, social loafing and prevented anyone from complaining, and the lifeguard slowly realized she was the only one freaking out, and slowly calmed down and changed her attitude. But really I have no idea what anyone thought, because they kept it to themselves. Anyway, it was great afternoon. I am proud of myself. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:07/23/2018 04:53:00Copy HTML I will return to college after a 48 year hiatus next month. I went by the gym and pool for a tour, I asked the guy if there was a dress code at gym. He said not for men, there is a dress code mainly for women, mainly open side shirts with no bras. Then I asked if I could wear a thong or speedo in pool. He said he thought a speedo would be ok, but I would need to ask lifeguard about thong. He had a huge grin on his face. I will soon find out lol

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:09/20/2018 10:03:15Copy HTML Tonight, i did my usual swim training (3 times each week, 2 miles each time) during the public hours.
I wore a cheeky swimsuit. With this cheeky swimsuit, half of my buns are uncovered.
During the training, a woman (i must admit i have never noticed her) told me :
"Hello, you don't have your usual swim caps, with skulls"
It is true i had a swim caps with skulls 6 months ago.
I answered immediatly "No, i wear the swim cap of my triathlon team now".
It is very funny that this woman notice my swim cap but didn't say a word about my cheeky swimsuit whereas my swimsuit was more noticeable than my swim cap.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:09/22/2018 10:53:58Copy HTML I have been swimming laps in either a rio or thong at LA Finess for the last year or so. I will wear a Desmitt thong or I have a new one that is multi colored with lime green beyond the front and rear patch which is see thru. It has a tie string and not a lot of elastic in the waist band so you must tie it or the whirlpool will literally pull it off. I love swimming laps in a thong. I still am a little cautious wearing just a thong in the pool bunever has been an issue. The other day, one of the sales people was showing a new guest the pool when I was swimming laps in my thong. Never had any second look at all. During the week I wear the rio or cheeky suits. I usually pull them up pretty high so they become a thong.li makes more fun that way.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:09/24/2018 04:42:34Copy HTML I have found that a Desmitt thong is now my new favorite for doing laps in the pool. I tried a couple other thongs to see how I would like them but they were just a tad too small while swimming with others. I swam in a joe Snyder rio thong and really had to be careful and then I tried my skinz thong which felt great but still on the small side. When I tried the Desmitt thong for laps I was hooked. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:09/26/2018 06:27:30Copy HTML Desmiit has been my go to thong for lap swimming lately too. I’ve mentioned it in other posts, but essentially that’s really been the only swimsuit I’ve been swimming laps in the last few months. It’s the most comfortable for swimming laps. The drawstring really helps and it’s the perfect coverage- not too tiny that I’m afraid it won’t stay on while swimming and not too bulky where there’s too much material. Where are you guys(and gals) swimming laps? |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:09/28/2018 02:57:31Copy HTML The gym I go to has an outdoor pool, but it only has 4 lanes. Since it's not a big pool, I wear my swim trunks when there are people around.
A few weeks ago, I got a day off, and since it was nice outside, I decided to go to the pool at noon. I got there and there was no one at the pool. Fortunately, I had my Gregg Homme thong swimsuit with me (I'm always prepared), so I quickly went to the changing room and got changed. Before going into the pool, I took a photo to commemorate this moment. I was just so happy to have the whole pool to myself. I got into the pool, and I felt this rush of adrenaline as the water touched my bare cheeks. It was a now or never moment.
After an hour of doing laps, I started to see people by the pool. They were all just chilling by the pool, and they didn't mind me at all. I got tired after an hour, so I decided to lay out by the pool. The pool wasn't overcrowded, so I was able to get my own space by the pool.
More people showed up after 2, and that meant more people got to see me in a thong. No one said a thing about my thong, but I had this interesting encounter with a chick around my age. Even though the pool wasn't overcrowded, this chick decided to camp next to me. I checked her out before she laid down, and I saw her with full back bikini bottoms on. She had a book and had earplugs on, so I just left her alone and I got some shut-eye. 30 minutes went by and I turned around so that I could tan the other side. The bikini chick was still next to me and she was laying on her stomach. And right there, I was able to see her butt cheeks. Did she change while I was asleep? I looked closely, and I realized that she had bunched up her bikini bottoms so that she could tan her cheeks. I had so many questions for her, but I decided to leave her alone because I didn't want to come off as a creep. She soon left, and I also went inside because it was getting cold.
I haven't gone swimming since then because the temperature has been droppping. I'll have to look for an indoor pool, but I don't think I'd have this much freedom at an indoor pool.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:10/06/2018 06:36:15Copy HTML Wore my Desmitt thong to the gym pool. Seen two couples in the whirlpool when i entered the pool deck. When i entered the steps whirlpool after hanging my towel, the two couples became very quite when the ladies noticed what i had on eyeballing me closely. After few minutes they all left the pool facilty. When i started my laps in the pool i noticed the one couple stop pausing outside the pool observing me. There reactions upon looking at me was confusion. Maybe the woman wanted to set some label or never seen a male in a thong before. Did notice one of the females leaving the pool and whirlpool quickly covered up her bikini bottoms with a towel on the pool deck. While the other female bigger boned and booty had wedgie bottom one piece swimsuit didn't bother covering up. Often when i wear a thong at the pool and seen by woman in skimpy swimwear bottoms they become modest covering up there bottoms with a towel when walking back to the change room. Just think is it because they seen me so non calant and confident walking and showering at the pool deck they become self concious. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:11/17/2018 09:33:01Copy HTML My health plan pays for a membership at the "Y". I avoided the pool for years because of the high chlorine which messes up my eyes and the fact there always were tons and tons of kids there. The kids would run around, screem, play in the swimming lanes, etc. It was this bad behavior that I hated -- not the fact they were kids or might have issues with a guy wearing a thong.
Last summer two things happened which made the pool more likeable. First, they got a new chemical system and the amount of chlorine is unnoticable. Perhaps they are using a different chemical process. Second, they have a new manager who has put his foot down on wild kids during family swim times, which used to be whenever there were not any classes in progress. Not only are problem children and their parents told to clean up their act, but there area also established adult swim times where 14 and older can swim without any children being present.
I decided to check the pool out better. I had one of my thongs in the car, and brought it in for show-and-tell with the manager. I ask if my swimsuit was okay and he said it was. I pointed out that it was a thong, and he said as long as it was not underwear, it would be okay. He did say that they "prefered" that thong wearers not wear G-string type swimsuits during the family hours, but thongs were okay then too. That was the end of the thong conversation. I put my thong on in the locker room, grabbed my towel on the way out (they don't supply towels but make you bring your own), and proceeded to one of the showers at the end of the pool to wash off a bit.
Nobody said anything. I then went to the hot tub and then the pool when a swim lane opened up. Again, no comments, but I know there were a few people looking. When I went back to the shower, a 20 something women came by and said she liked my swimsuit. She was wearing only a T-shirt which was about as long as a mini skirt and was showing quite a bit when wet. I said I liked her shirt and she said she was glad that the rules had been relaxed "a bit" and that she liked seeing guys in thongs. I said I was surprised that she could wear just a t-shirt, and she admitted that she didn't know what the policy was, but so far had not gotten into any trouble wearing one. I have been back a few times now. I have not had any issues with wearing a thong, but have not seen the young lady again, so I don't know if she has had any issues or not. I have seen one other guy -- a kid about 17 or 18 in a thong, and several women.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:03/01/2019 09:27:41Copy HTML I’ve had a good few weeks swimming laps in my thongs. I typically wear a thong under my briefs/speedo/bikini regardless to swim laps and usually there high school swim teams practicing with their coach by the pool. I usually just keep it conservative and just swim with the speedo cover up when they are around.. don’t want any complaints just in case even though there are no rules anywhere about what kind of swimwear to use. I go early in the morning and there are the same 4-5 folks swimming their laps besides the swim teams. We all are pretty much use to each other and even swim in our same lanes each time. Lately the swim teams haven’t been around much so I figured this is the best time to go for swimming in my thong next to those same people. It’s been great and no problems what so ever. I’ve gradually gotten braver and braver to get out of the pool with no towel to wrap myself up quickly. I’m also trying to make it known that I’m wearing a thong but not flaunting or parading around. I just get myself out of the pool and turn my backside toward them as I’m walking to the bench with my bag and towels. I dry off not really trying to cover up. I think now they are getting use to me wearing that and not really thinking of it. That’s exactly what I want.. to be just another swimmer but just wearing a thong. One day a guy in a 3 inch speedo was swimming with a lady and they were training together. They picked the lane right next to me and I had already been swimming for 10 min in my thong. Being that he is in a Speedo helps me out because at least another guy is wear a brief of some sort. They were very into their laps timing etc and I was next to them in my thong and they didn’t even notice or care. I was finishing up and they had just done a few laps and were resting at the edge of the pool. They were waiting for the clock to get their next set of laps in and were just talking. I just went for it and got out instead of waiting for them to start swimming again. I got out they both looked up at me and I turned and walked to the bench to dry off giving them a full thong view and not hiding it. I wanted to see their reaction so as I got my towel I turned and looked and they acted like nothing happened and were just taking about when they will go again. It was kind of a great feeling to see it didn’t bother them or they were laughing or giggling. 2 days later the same guy had just finished his laps and was drying off by the bench I usually put my stuff at. I walked up and put my stuff down at the other end of the bench and gave a kinda hello nod. Again I just acted casual and started to strip to my swim gear under my pants. I kinda hesitated about going all the way to the thong just feet from him but just went what the hell.. the other times I’m usually in a Desmiit thong but this time I was in a slightly smaller brave person thong. I just did it and walked to the pool in the thong and it didn’t seem to faze him at all. Another lady was in her lane as well and saw my thong as I got in and again.. it was all good! I think the key is they are just getting use to me and what I wear and aren’t thinking much of it. Feels good to try this and get to swim more freely. I’ve come a long way.. I use to be nervous about wearing a speedo in front of anyone at this pool. Now it’s the norm for me and I don’t think about it. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:03/01/2019 09:49:37Copy HTML its much easier swimming in a thong or speedo type bathing suit then shorts, alot less fabric to weigh you down to, i do alot of water tubing and stuff like that in the summer, its nice to have a bathing thats practical and functional. can't wait to get out on the water this summer, again, its so much fun.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:03/02/2019 12:17:43Copy HTML if you are swimming laps in a thong they have already seen your thong swimsuit and it doesnt matter when you get out. The water is not hiding the fact you are swimming in a thong unless you are swimming on your back the entire time. Even still it would probably get noticed when you stop at the walls. Good for you and swimming in one. I've done that in the past and there was nothing like it. So wish I could swim in one when doing laps. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:03/02/2019 01:07:35Copy HTML @vega1210. You are right, the water hides nothing.
But, curiously, i notice that a lot of people are convinced otherwise.
Maybe because they don't have swim goggles, so they don't see under the water ? I don't know.
When i do my swim laps, i see better what happens under the water that what happens around the pool because my head and my eyes are under the water.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:03/03/2019 12:25:07Copy HTML When using hotel pools I will wear whatever - often a Gemali g string with tiny trianagle back (and what a shame this promising UK manufacturer disappeared without trace). For my regular lap sessions at my local council run leisure centre pool I feel the need to be more circumspect, with many different people around - other swimmers, pool attendants, swim teachers etc, & of course children during holidays. So far a J Snyder Kini is the briefest I have worn. Never had any comment but no point in pushing one's luck methinks. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:06/12/2019 11:35:35Copy HTML I have been wearing a cheeky swimsuit for several years in different pools.
Since several months, my swimsuit is more cheeky and it is almost a thong according to my wife and some friends.
I wore it in several public pools. Until now, nobody told me nothing about my swimwear except some friends and my wife.
On monday, as i was fighting in the swim laps with an other swimmers (a bad swimmer), i spoke with a lifeguard that i know.
He told me that it was normal the fight because my "swimwear was sanguine".
As it doesn't mean nothing, he completed : "your swimwear is slidding between your buns".
He told me that naturally, without any reproach, without mockery or other.
I took his notice like an approval. And it encourages me to continue to wear cheeky swimsuits without trying to hide myslef.
Each years, i try to wear a swimwear which is cheekier and cheekier.
But, i think i have reached the cheekiest swimwear possible. The next step is the thong !

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:06/15/2019 03:23:53Copy HTML I got told that thongs weren't allowed at gym , while wearing a rio. Somebody bitched. Couldn't convince the guy otherwise. The gym is generally a drag. Only the results are worthwhile, it's only about destination, no the trip. The place is generally an uptight place with little socializing going on. Most people are connected to their device (phone) while reciting "No pain-no gain" |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:06/15/2019 04:17:29Copy HTML Tanian i hear your frustration. Often it's people getting uncomfortable with someones better physique. They believe not shy displaying your body it is exhibitionism or just showing off wanting attention. People get frustrated with themselves in the gym and lash out upon easy targets like a male in skimpy swimwear minding his business. There was encounter during Aqua class some female was wearing g-string bikini and settled in the Jacuzzi. Didn't see her but was told by another gym member take a look of the pretty girl in tiny thong. Only seen back of her head sitting in the whirlpool as i walked to the gym floor not ready to use the pool just yet. Later i was told by gym member that female lifeguard came over to the g-string clad female telling her the swimwear she was wearing is inappropiate. Again she looked good in g-string i was told, but it often offends the older mature heavy set woman in the Aqua class. The instructor just wants to put everyone at ease. Seeing a attractive walking along the pool deck in g-string stings when large females observe her beautiful body. When i use to walk along the pool deck using sauna and whirlpool wearing a thong the double standard was in effect. Woman in the aqua class were eyeballing me enjoying the view of males physique showering on the pool deck cooling off all in front of the ladies in the pool. The instructor found it funny and frustrating that the students were not paying attention to her but staring upon my body. So there is rule in effect no underwear but proper swimwear so in theory i could be called to wear more at the pool. Seeing the female lifeguard on IG she is model likes to thong herself but only enforces rules that the gym sets. Matter of fact seen selfies of the lifeguard wearing a thong in the dry sauna. Again rules made to be broken when few people are around they may slide or ignore the thong i wear. When there is busy aqua class in effect walking in a thong maybe isn't a good idea asking for trouble. Got to pick and choose your hours with less people you may get away with it until someone complains. Pick your audience you know if they don't care you be safe in a thong. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:07/09/2019 02:57:40Copy HTML Yesterday I received a new fluorescent green/yellow Brave Person thong in the mail that I bought off eBay. I love these thongs and wore them a lot in the Dominican Republic vacation my wife and took back in May. While swimming laps I’ve been real conservative wearing speedos and basic bikinis. I slowly started wearing thongs to swim laps. My go to thong has been the Desmitt thong which I love and will still continue to wear them but I really wanted to try this new bright colored thong out at the pool. It’s pretty traditional but it was actually very good for swimming! |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:07/10/2019 12:43:17Copy HTML what city and state do you swim laps in a thong? is it indoor pool or outdoor pool. Thats awesome that you are able to wear a thong swimsuit for lap swimming. A rio back is about the smallest we can get away with where i'm at. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:07/10/2019 02:26:59Copy HTML It’s in Jackson Mississippi and I’m a member of a gym that has an true Olympic size lap pool. Not sure if I’m breaking any rules doing it but there is nothing on the pool rules that say anything about what kind of swimwear you can wear. The most it says is don’t wear clothes in the pool. Another reason I can get away with it is there are no lifeguards on duty. Ive had the complete pool to myself at times which is really awesome. The pool is detached from the gym in a hanger and nobody can look in at you from the gym, so nobody really knows I’m wearing a thong except the ones swimming around me. I also go at 5:30 in the morning and the usual 5-6 regulars are always there swimming laps and probably not paying attention. I think that’s why I’m not getting any hassle really. I used to go after work and there were kids swim lessons going on with parents around the pool. I definitely didn’t wear a thong around them. Early in the morning, a masters swim team trains in our pool and they are high school to college aged kids. All the guys wear speedos and the girls are in very narrow back one pieces that are almost thongs when they get out of the pool. So wearing a conservative desmitt thong pretty much looks exactly what the guys are wearing in the front. I guess it really depends on the pool and the people you swim around. I’m lucky because they have it where the pool is pretty private and so you can get away with wearing anything you want really and the management doesn’t even check or monitor it. I have even worn a g string one time while swimming but that was during a odd slow time and only other swimmer. That is pushing it alittle but wanted to try it out. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:07/11/2019 10:30:10Copy HTML is this pool outdoors at all where you can get some sun on the buns as well?? I think the key is that you a re going early and like you say the same swimmers are always there. They are use to you and figure no harm. I'm sure they have noticed your are swimming in a thong as you can see pretty clear underwater. As well as when they come or go they would notice. I would love for this chance and would if I could. I swam for a week or 2 in a thong at a gym pool. You could see into from the hallway which all the ladies had to go down that hallway to get to the locker room. Eventually someone complained when i was wearing a rio back with string sides and i was asked to wear more. I didnt complain and finished my workout and agreed to wear more. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:07/12/2019 12:38:30Copy HTML Unfortunately no the pool is in a hanger so no sunning the buns! Ha It’s ok because it keeps it fairly warm in the winter and I can swim all year long. You are right, I’m pretty sure everyone has noticed and nobody really even cares. In fact the other day we had a swim team in there taking up most of the lanes so a lady that is a regular came up and I told her she could share lanes with me. We were in the shallow end of the pool and I was standing up in the thong and she clearly could see it was a thong. She didn’t seem to care so we shared a lane. I prefer early morning swimming because everyone there is serious about their laps and aren’t paying attention. In the afternoon you get more floaters that are just looking around. It’s alot harder to wear a thong at that time. |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:08/14/2019 08:03:30Copy HTML This isn’t directly ‘thong’ related, but a place that Grabeach has regularly reported on and thonged at without incident.
A win for the people:) • Replacing the pavilion including the decking • Upgrading the lighting to improve capacity for training and competitions at night and make sure UTS Balmain Tigers Water Polo Club can remain in their home Pool • Raising the Baths floor level to mitigate sea level rise and future-proof the facility. • Improving the entry configuration and access from the harbour foreshore • Renovating the male and female showers, toilets and change rooms; • Providing 4 new unisex family change rooms; • Providing a new equal access toilet, shower and change room |

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:08/30/2019 12:48:23Copy HTML I have started swimming laps in a thong in my condo pool and it's been quite good. No one usualls says says anything about it. One time I did try at the uni and one of the attendants asked me to wear something that would a least cover my butt . It was a bit sad since I normally swim quite a bit there . In any case, I am back to my condo now.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:08/31/2019 02:10:18Copy HTML Lately I've been doing laps wearing the Highly Gifted from Koala. It's not a true thong but does expose a lot of butt. I've been swimming after 1:00PM but it was getting crowded. Yesterday I tried going a little earlier, 11:30 and the old lady who gets upset my choice of swimwear was there. She gave me a dirty look but didn't say anything. I haven't had any issues wearing it otherwise. Yesterday was so nice, and my boss was on vacation, I decided to stay and read my book for about 20 minutes. After the old lady left and I was lying there reading, 2 women in their 20's strutted out to the pool in thongs. One had on fairly high platform flip flops. After a few minutes she went back to the locker room. She definitely walked like she wanted all eyes on her. Shame the old lady had left. I would have liked to see her expression.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:09/01/2019 12:52:37Copy HTML Ya women want all eyes on them as sort of an ego trip. I saw one woman back in the mid 1990s wearing a g-string at a beach trying to impress some guy nearby and she had a fully clothed friend sitting next to hear "spotting," telling her when he was looking and where he was. This was a long time before g-strings are accepted like today!

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:09/02/2019 04:32:16Copy HTML Yesterday was a laid back day at the gym pool. Being Labor Day weekend there were only a few people at the gym pool. I wore my Highly Gifted Koala suit and felt very comfortable getting in and out of the pool. My swim pal regulars are used to me by now. After I was done with my laps I laid out on a lounge and read for a while. A couple in their 60's(?) came out with their daughter in her 20's. Dad had on the usual dork shorts, mom had on a tankini. The tall slender daughter took off her baggy short to reveal a very cheeky, almost thong suit. It was nice to see a couple of parents that didn't freak out over their daughter showing so much butt in a suit.

Re:Doing pool laps in a thong Date Posted:09/07/2019 04:02:12Copy HTML Well, Newcastle Ocean Baths are OK to do your laps in a thong. Just finished 20, pool relatively uncrowded on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Now laying beside the wall getting a tan. The thong looks to be more popular than ever with the younger girls this year. Never seen as many in the one place as I did on and around Newcastle Beach yesterday. |
