Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:06/04/2024 09:24:42Copy HTML Spectacular day at East Beach. I left the house wearing nothing but my new Candyman custom g-string – it’s the closest to naked that I have ever worn. I arrived around 9:15 to an almost empty parking lot. I drove down the 4x4 trail to my usual parking spot. I set up about 50 yards from the entrance to the beach. Temperature was low 70’s with a gentle breeze. The entire day was bright and sunny with a high around 8. Eventually there were four guys along the dune line I wore my g-string, two others were naked and I couldn’t see the fourth guy. Later in the day a couple set up about 30 yards back up the beach – they were dressed for surf fishing but my almost naked presence simply wasn’t an issue. I walked back to my truck twice during the day clad in only my g-string. The Candyman g-string is made of very thin fabric, it’s very light and feels like I’m nude. I’ll be wearing this more over the summer. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:06/21/2024 11:17:55Copy HTML Another excellent day at East Beach. Arrived around 0830 only to sit in line for a half hour (the parking lot doesn’t open until 0900). Initially the beach was deserted but by mid morning there were two other thong guys and three couples in the immediate area. Nobody seemed to care about what anyone else was wearing. I wore my usual Candyman g-string: slide front leopard print pouch, very light, thin fabric with a single narrow string. It’s the next best thing to naked. Although the temp was around 90 in Westerly the temperature on the beach had to be around 80 with bright sun and a steady breeze. A few greenheads kept at bay by the breeze and liberal use of Deep Woods Off. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:06/26/2024 11:02:33Copy HTML Spent Tuesday day at East Beach. Arrived around 9 am to a rapidly filling parking lot. For some reason I ended up in the line for Blue Shutters Beach (both open at 9am) so it was no problem once the line got moving. I was the second vehicle in Lot 2, which eventually ended up with six vehicles. I walked about 200 yards down the beach for a good spot and spent the day in quiet solitude. There was one other thonger, a girl(!!!) a little way down the beach, everyone else were couples and groups. There were no board shorts on any of the guys, just conventional mid-thigh swimsuits. The water is warming up and the greenheads are becoming more numerous. I spent the entire day in my usual g-string. Walking to and from the parking lot. Getting ready to leave I gave a guy what was left of my ice. He didn’t bat an eye at my g-string. All in all a very routine g-string day at East Beach. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/06/2024 11:21:46Copy HTML Excellent day at East Beach – arrived around 9:30, thirty minutes after opening. 4x4 Lot 1 was deserted but Lot 2 already had four vehicles parked. A 200 yard walk led to an adequately private area. There already was a g-string guy all set up about 100 yards further down the beach and at least one other beyond him. There were a lot of black, biting flies until the breeze picked up – Deep Woods Off helped a little but not much. On the other hand the single greenhead encountered was dealt with with a sharp ‘whack’. The day was bright and sunny but wave action was unusually rough for that section of Block Island Sound. For part of the day two DEM workers were busy removing the last of the plover ropes. I wore a fuchsia, tie-side thong bikini for the walk to and from the parking area and all day on the beach – nobody seemed to care. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/15/2024 02:25:50Copy HTML Hey everyone--
Finally made it up to the beach earlier this week. Weather was perfect if a bit breezy--at least it kept the flies down. My only complaint--the guy who walked up along the edge of the dunes, got right smack in the middle of where three of us were getting some sun and just stopped and stood there to "check his phone." We all wrapped up or put on shorts. So creepy.
Not the first time I've had that happen and it kind of angers me. I've said it before: if someone is up and about, feel free to say hello. But if they are minding their own business on their towel, just keep moving! |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/15/2024 02:39:25Copy HTML Well DC, a few years ago my wife and I were on Orient beach on St. Martin. Yup, that Orient Beach, the one known throughout the Caribbean for its’ nude section. Consequently it draws a lot of tourists from visiting cruise ships out for a cheap thrill. We were minding our own business enjoying a naked day in the sun when my wife noticed one of the “boat people” taking a picture in her direction. My normally reserved wife jumped up, ran to confront the person and started reading him the riot act in a tone of voice and vocabulary that she’s never even used with me in almost 50 years of marriage. The offender couldn’t get the hell out of there fast enough. A long time ago someone wrote "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" - that afternoon, that guy found that out the hard way. My point being, these people who sneak photos without the permission of the subject are already feeling a little sneaky, a little guilty – they need just a little confrontation to speed them on their way. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/21/2024 07:49:14Copy HTML Nice to re-find this forum after a several year hiatus! (I posted under another username, long since forgotten now). This Friday (Aug 23) looks like a great beach day and I have the time to take. I was able to get to East Beach twice in 2023 and once so far this year, each time setting up somewhere around the 5 min walk area east of the lifeguard section. If any others on here might be there Friday, happy to connect. I plan to go minimal in my Joe Snyder g-string with a light blue triangle front. Cheers! |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/23/2024 10:17:07Copy HTML First day at East Beach in about a month. Arrived at an empty 4x4 Lot2 around 9:30 and set up about 200 yards down the beach. Others showed up over the course of the next few hours so that section of the beach was quite populated by East Beach standards which is to say it was still pretty deserted. The sun was bright and water calm. There were a couple of other thongers but nobody seemed to care. I wore a black tieside g-string to and from the lot as well as all day, again nobody cared. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/24/2024 05:03:10Copy HTML I enjoyed the perfect weather that was Friday 8/23. Arrived to the main parking area a little after 9 and there was a short line of cars that kept moving along. The normally guarded section of beach was already filling with groups and some families. I walked about 10 mins to the left and set up right next to the elaborate driftwood structure. There were 2 younger women back by the dunes rocking thongs soon after entering the beach from the main parking area. Down where I was setup eventually some sport fisherman, a group of 2 overly dressed couples, and a small mixed group set up on either side of me - clearly unfazed by my minimal g-string. Among the walkers that came by, they included 2 or 3 middle-aged women in smaller thongs which was nice to see, and there were some further down the beach as I went on my walk (I donned a small white bikini brief that is see-through-when-wet and noticed the silent, visual attention of some as I passed). Stopped and talked to a younger couple who waved at me, with the woman in a bright purple thong and guy in regular trunks. A different younger couple walked by me later in the day as I was laying on my stomach, and the woman commented "I like your suit", but I wasn't facing them when they said it so we didn't share an exchange. But as they walked back by me, I was rolled over, and we waved and smiled at each other. When it was time for me to leave, first I met rickl454 sharing his leftover ice (thank you!), and on my walk back to the main parking, saw another 3 or 4 guys near the dunes enjoying g-strings and possibly discrete nudity. I wore swim briefs (not Speedo brand) for the walk back to parking. The laid back and "live and let live" vibe at East Beach is very nice, as is the beautiful stretch of beach that it is, looking out across Block Island Sound. A few more days left of summer weather, and I hope to steal another day off for it. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:09/13/2024 05:56:21Copy HTML Got to the beach for a couple of hours on Wednesday and all day Thursday. Perfect days, actually. Weather was gorgeous, and beach had that decidedly post-Labor Day feel to it. Parking lot only half full and the crowd very thin.
On Wednesday, there were several other thongers. Today, I didn't see anyone else in a thong, but I also didn't walk up as far as I usually do and there were people where I would expect to find fellow thong lovers. I could see others along the dunes, but from the distance I was, I couldn't tell what they were wearing.
I didn't get to the beach nearly as much as I expected or hoped this year, but the days that I go there were simply outstanding. East Beach is something special. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:03/09/2025 09:13:08Copy HTML DC – in years past I’ve gone to East Beach in April. As long as the air temperature is 60 or above and it’s sunny it is very possible. I'd advise taking a wind break. I wouldn’t recommend going into the water though. If it was 60 and sunny I’d you wouldn’t be the only thonger there. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:04/07/2025 12:57:35Copy HTML This is the time of year when I start trying suits on to decide what to wear this year. I’m going to stick with last year’s tie side thong bikinis. Dark colors for early in the season (red, blue, black), lighter as the tan develops (white, orange, lime green and pink). |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:07/25/2025 12:11:35Copy HTML Excellent day at East Beach. I parked in 4x4 Lot#2 and walked about 100 yards onto the beach. I parked my stuff close by another thong guy. He was wearing a plain black thong with a pretty sexy cut. It looked like a classic inverted triangle bikini from the front and a brief thong back. I wore a sold black tie side g-string – I was able to sun with ties untied for a while. There were a few couples close by but our wearing our thongs were pretty much a non-event. All in all a very nice day. Perfect surf, just enough breeze to keep the bugs away. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:07/26/2025 02:09:40Copy HTML Finally made it out on Thursday. There were at least three other thong guys within 100 yards of me, as well as several other couples in traditional bathing suits. The couple closest to me—about 25 yards—showed up after I was already in place and I caught them both staring when they first realized what I was wearing. Made me smile.
All in all, it was a gorgeous day. Wish I had been able to get out earlier this summer, but hoping to finish strong and be there with some frequency in August and September! |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/27/2025 11:42:57Copy HTML First trip to East Beach in months. The day started out a little chilly but warmed up to a perfect clear day in the high 70's. For the first time in many years I went with a female friend - much better than going alone. I wore a miniscule tie side thong while she wore a t-shirt and short shorts. Very close to a NMCF situation but still a lovely change from going alone. Granted way too many clothes hopefully she'll be in a proper (or better yet improper) bikini or thong next time. There were a couple of family groups down the beach and a few walkers but the beach was unusually sparsely populated - a perfect late season beach day. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:09/15/2025 09:34:21Copy HTML Perfect day at East Beach. Mid-70’s, bright sunshine, calm water and virtually no bugs. I arrived around 9:30 to an almost empty parking lot and drove the 4x4 down to the second parking area about 2/3rds of a mile down the back trail. The beach had a few walkers along the shoreline and a few 4x4 vehicles driving or parked on the beach itself. There was a single guy walking along the dune line wearing a minuscule g-string, white, transparent when wet, extremely sexy. I spent the day in a medium blue tie side thong bikini. I wore that while airing down my tires in the parking lot, all day on the beach and in the main parking lot at the end of the day – no reaction to my almost nude bikini anywhere I went. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:09/24/2025 02:28:54Copy HTML Another visit to East Beach. In spite of what the weatherman predicted on the previous evening’s weather report most of the day at East Beach was under cloud cover. Since it’s after September 15 4x4 vehicles are now allowed on the beach. Around noon I was emerging from the water when a passing truck stopped between me and my blanket. The driver gave me a long look before moving on. The vehicle was unmarked but it had to be a DEM officer. I was wearing a leopard print g-string with a tiny pouch held on by very thin strings, much the same color as my deeply tanned skin. At first glance I probably did look naked. After an uncomfortably long second look he moved on. I was as close to naked as I could be but I guess that I eventually passed. Good to know for future trips. The day might have been too overcast but knowing I passed the close scrutiny of the authorities made the day worth it. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:05/04/2026 12:45:56Copy HTML Absolutely right, DC. Finally. I got my 2026 4x4 sticker about a month ago so I’m ready to go (they don’t charge for parking until Memorial Day weekend so it’s a freebie until then). Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:05/20/2026 11:58:22Copy HTML First day of the season at East Beach. Arrived a little after 9 a.m., to a rapidly filling parking lot, and headed down the behind beach 4x4 trail. About a mile down it was an absolutely deserted beach. Throughout the course of the day there were few walkers and even fewer blankets - set up about 50 yards apart. Too far to see was people were wearing much less to care. One guy in t-shirt and shorts kept walking up and down the beach, At one point he approached me and stood literally right beside me looking out over Block Island Sound. After a few moments he asked if he could lie down beside me – I said ‘no’ and he was smart enough to take the hint and get the hell away from me most rickey tic. Other than that it was a perfect day, weather-wise. I wore a miniscule g-string to and from the parking area and all day on the beach with no problem at all. Mid-70’s, no bugs and a virtually deserted beach. Except for the freezing water and creepy guy a perfect day. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:05/28/2026 11:45:48Copy HTML Good morning, Jill. I sure did! The entire area behind the beach has been totally cleared. The effect is hard to describe but it looks like a different planet. All of the foliage covering the area is gone. Apparently all of that foliage was some kind of invasive species. Anyway it’s all gone and what was cut down has all been carted away. However, if you are parking in the main parking lot and walking down the beach you probably won’t notice anything different because of the slope of the beach. Frankly, I was really surprised but it made no material difference. I might be going today – it looks like a pretty good beach day in spite of the weatherman. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:05/29/2026 11:50:11Copy HTML Half a day at East Beach. Arrived around 9 am to a totally empty beach (the weather forecast was not encouraging, keeping people away). Someone finally showed up around 11 but he immediately went nude so the micro g-string I was wearing was a little over dressed. By noon the cloud cover was total and it started to drizzle by 1 but initially it was bright and sunny. Perfect for walking along the water’s edge totally nude. Still, not a bad day at East Beach for us locals. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:06/04/2026 08:11:50Copy HTML Perfect day at East Beach. I arrived around 8:40, about 20 minutes before opening. Didn’t matter, I just drove in and headed down the 4x4 trail. The beach was totally deserted until a couple showed up around 10:00. Otherwise nobody - all day. It was bright and sunny around 70 (upwards of 90 was predicted by the weather guys on local TV – maybe inland but not the beach). I wore a miniscule tie side g-string but could have gone nude all day. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:06/06/2026 11:07:28Copy HTML Made it out there Friday afternoon. The weather was good but the wind off the water is still a little cold. I couldn’t do anything more than get my feet wet. Crowds still early season small.
The beach is in great shape. It seems the slope to the water line is less steep than in the last couple of years—don’t know if that’s erosion or a bunch of sand got dumped by the winter storms.
Was great to be back out there. That’s number 1 for me this year. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:07/10/2026 11:43:38Copy HTML I made it to East Beach yesterday. Arrived around 8:45 for the 9am opening and drove the back trail down to my usual parking lot #2. The beach was totally deserted but did manage to fill up over the course of the day (perhaps one blanket every 25 yards or so). Unusual for this section of East Beach, I was the only person wearing something brief: my usual almost non-existent CandyMan g-string which got absolutely no reaction from anyone. Almost anyone. For the first time in at least a decade a DEM officer came buzzing down the beach on an ATV. He gave me a close look but kept going.
Otherwise it was a perfect day, bright sun but not too hot with just enough breeze to keep the bugs grounded. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:07/16/2026 04:53:26Copy HTML I returned to East Beach on Tuesday (July 14) for what turned out to be a routine beach day in every respect. Perfect weather, very few people and very little worn (by me). Fortunately, there were no DEM officer patrols at all. The single seat ATV was also nowhere to be seen. Hopefully the DEM ATV cop visit of last week will turn out to be a once in a decade event. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/05/2026 11:22:10Copy HTML Excellent day at East Beach. I arrived at 9 a.m. to find one 4x4 already in parking lot #2 (about ½ mile down the 4x4 trail. Over the course of the day there were the usual beach walkers and usual couples and family groups. I wore my usual tie side g-string. About 20 yards down the beach was another guy in a tiny g-string also basking in the sun. At one point an older guy walked by wearing an absolutely miniscule g-string. All of us scattered among more conventionally attired groups. As if it was the most routine situation conceivable – actually it pretty much was. The surf was unusually high for Block Island Sound (about 5 feet – all day), sun unusually intense (85 degrees and very humid). |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/25/2026 01:32:53Copy HTML Another perfect day at East Beach. I arrived a little before 9 am I drove to the usual parking area to find two 4x4’s (surf fishermen) already there. I set up about 100 yards from the 4x4 parking area and spent the day in upper 70’s sunshine wearing a Dore multicolor tie side g-string. Along the beach was a combination of conventionally and thong attired beach goers. Every one apparently unconcerned over what someone else happened to be wearing. The highlight of the day for me was a middle aged couple walking the beach – he in the usual dork shorts and she wearing a thong bikini. Totally normal, completely casual, as if wearing a thong was the most appropriate thing in the world – actually that’s what it is coming to – finally! The sun was bright, water temperature perfect and enough breeze to keep most of the greenheads away (those that did mange to land were kept at bay with a few applications of Deep Woods Off). Surf was a little rough for Block Island Sound. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:08/31/2026 10:55:09Copy HTML Outstanding day at East Beach. The entire day was mid-70’s, partly sunny. surf was virtually non-existent, water temperature very comfortable. The expected crowd was pretty much non-existent. Very few walkers, one guy in a tiny g-string passed by from way up the beach, walking as close to nude as can be without concern. I started the day in my usual tie side g-string bikini, the back strap snapped about halfway through. I gave my lady companion the choice for replacement between a neon green string bikini or a royal blue baggie. She picked the baggie – the yellow tie looked good with my tan – ahh, life is good. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:09/06/2026 06:07:09Copy HTML Made it twice last week—my third and fourth visits this summer. Far too few, but I’m taking what I can get.
On Friday, I had a nice stretch of beach all to myself. The flies were miserable, unfortunately, and I had forgotten my bug spray. The only solution was to stay close to the waterline and so I walked up and down the beach, getting sun, staying cool, and avoiding the bugs.
East Beach is my happy place. I thought about that a lot on Friday. I’m going to do my best to get at least one more day in before the summer slips away entirely. |

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI Date Posted:09/06/2026 03:23:29Copy HTML DC – you will find that any day after Labor Day to be potentially perfect, crowd-wise, assuming good weather. I’ve spent days at East Beach as late as mid-October. The only fly in the ointment is that the beach opens to 4x4 traffic around September 15th. That’s more of an inconvenience than anything else. But it is wise to set up way back by the grass line. I also set up an umbrella to give any approaching 4x4 visual warning from a distance that someone’s there. If the bugs are greenheads Deep Woods Off is what you want to take with you. If the really small biting flies are out forget it. Nothing works on them unless the breeze picks up. By all means don’t hesitate to get in a few late September/early October beach days. |
