Second day here this week and the lot opened at 9 both days. I asked the kid manning the booth and he said 9 AM Monday to Friday and 8:30 AM on weekends. There was a line of cars waiting on the access road both days by 8:25 AM and you can no longer buy a season pass at the booth

But I’m here, the day is gorgeous, so I’m happy!

Visited East Beach on the 3rd. Arrived around 9:20 to an almost full parking lot despite the over cast weather. Drove down to the first camping area about a mile down the beach then walked about 200 yards back to a good thonging spot. The beach was pretty much deserted all day. The piping plover ropes are all gone. Only a few beach walkers. It was exceptionally quiet, even the bugs took the day off. I wore a almost nonexistent tie side g-string all day.

Visited Friday afternoon. Was lucky to get a vacated spot in the main parking lot and walked up the beach. The beautiful thing is that on every visit this summer, there has been at least one woman either at the water’s edge or strolling the beach in her thong. Friday was no exception. I found my spot and got several hours of sun in my Rick Majors thong. The summer feels like it’s winding down. I had hoped to get down to East Beach on Monday, but the weather doesn’t look great. Hope I get at least one more day with sun on my buns.

Hey DC, the weather idiots on TV are saying that it’s going to be about 150 in the shade (and thats with the Wind Chill Factor) at the beach in the next few days so you better be careful. Bring lots of water and have more waiting in the car if you manage to survive the return walk. I’ve been at East Beach in that kind of heat and it’s brutal. Be careful. Better still do what I’m going to do: wait until next week.

Happy New Year East Beach Thongers! The calendar turns, and it feels like we're on the down-hill--six months (or less!) until the weather will be right on East Beach. I just bought a few new thongs in anticipation from Skinzwear. I can't wait!

Well DC, It’s nudging 30F with snow showers predicted for later today, I got up this morning and logged on to see your posting -- very encouraging. Actually this is about the time of the year that I like to make a trip to East Beach just to enjoy the solitude and to reflect on warmer days upcoming. In past years we’ve been to East Beach as early as mid April. All it takes is a sunny day in the 60’s and a substantial windbreak. It’s just welcome to see an East Beach posting in January - warmer days will be here, eventually.

First trip to East Beach of the season. Arrived around 10 am to about a half full parking lot. That didn’t matter as I was driving my 4x4 a mile down the trail behind the dunes. Not much has changed from last season except that the dunes, wiped out by superstorm Sandy years ago are starting to reappear. It was a perfect beach day until about 2 pm when the wind shifted coming from the northeast. A cold front from Nova Scotia, complete with a sustained blast of sand that cleared the beach. I wore a small tie-side string bikini for the walk down the beach and spent the day in a miniscule tie side g-string. I did not bother to change for the return walk to the parking area. There was a nude guy behind a wind break and another thonger just up the beach. Nobody went into the water – it’s still way too cold.

Yesterday, another day at East Beach. I arrived to a half full main parking lot around 0930 and drove the mile along the 4x4 trail to an empty parking area. The beach was virtually empty – possibly due to a less than perfect weather forecast. I walked about 2-300 yards down the beach in a very brief tie side g-string and spent the day like that. There were a few nude/thong/g-string guys around but everyone kept to themselves. Very few beach walkers, mostly the aforementioned nude/thong/g-string guys, although two fully dressed guys apparently checking the plover ropes passed by. Fortunately the weather forecasters got it wrong again.

Spent another day at East Beach earlier this week. Arrived around 9:30 to a half full parking lot and drove the mile down the 4x4 trail to the usual parking area. For the first time this season someone was already there. A lady had a camp site with several chaise lounges, a grill and two wind breaks but no vehicle. I stripped down to my customary tie side mini g-string. I had bought more ice than I needed so I walked over to offer her my extra ice - whereupon she explained that her husband had just left with their camper to make a supply run. Makes sense. I packed up my stuff for the 200 yard walk to my usual area. Spent the day almost totally alone in mid-70’s partly sunny weather. The blue thong guy who seems to live at that beach stopped by for a chat but that was it, human contact-wise. Mid-afternoon I headed back to the parking area wearing only my mini-g. The lady was still there but this time with her husband and camper. I puttered around the truck in my g-string like it was totally routine – actually it was. Waved to them and drove off. Virtually the entire day in a very brief g-string with no apparent reaction from anyone. Wider acceptance is happening, slowly but it’s happening.

Another day at East Beach today. Arrived around 9:30 to a 2/3rds full parking lot and drove the mile down to the camper/RV parking lot. I walked about 200 yards back up the beach to my usual spot. I was the only person in sight although there were some farther back down the beach. The only other semi-thonger was female (!!!), 30ish or 40ish in a very cheeky black string bikini. I wore a yellow tie side g-string for the walk to my spot and for the day. I changed to a very small tie-side bikini for the walk back – I had to walk past a few blankets so I thought the bikini was the better choice. It was 75 degrees but the bright sun made it really hot on the beach. I want in the water twice to cool off and it wasn’t so bad, water temperature-wise. So that’s it! A really nice day at East Beach.

Re:East Beach Charlestown Rhode Island RI

Green Heads: I would say that the greenheads are on their way. They probably peak around the beginning of August but on days when there is no breeze they are always around. I’ve found that Deep Woods Off is effective in keeping them at bay. They still buzz around and land but take off before biting. I never go to the beach without a bottle of Deep Woods Off. The little black flies are another matter. If they are around you’re better off just leaving and coming back next week. Fortunately they don’t last very long. Nudity: Getting caught nude at East Beach is a $100 fine (I’m not sure about a court appearance). There are people who do go nude behind wind breaks with no apparent problem. I would advise walking well beyond the lifeguarded beach area. The farther the better. East Beach is relatively flat so it’s easy to see someone coming, don’t make a spectacle of yourself. The police might respond to a complaint but they seem to be more concerned with actually protecting the public than with busting nudes on an isolated beach.

Another day at East Beach. Bright sun, not too hot and breezy enough to keep the bugs away. Arrived around 9:00 to an almost full parking lot but the area that I drove to in my 4x4 was totally deserted at that hour. There were very few walkers, a couple of girls in some very cheeky suits – one a bikini and one in a one piece – 20/30ish and very casual. There was one guy down the beach who may have been nude or in a really small g-string. Around two a couple came down the beach and stopped between me and the other thong guy. They both stripped naked and lie in the sun. I wore my usual tie side g-string for most of the day and a string bikini for the return walk. No apparent reaction from anyone who walked past me or that I passed during the day – a good sign.

Suns out, buns out! Okay, so I finally made it to East Beach. Surf was up and it was really hot on the sand today. I was just less than a mile up from the parking lot, just beyond the remaining roped off areas for the piping plovers. Lots of people stretched out a long the way, but surprised I didn’t see more thongs. When I arrived there was one other male seated near the edge of the dunes. On my way back to the car, I saw one woman closer to the guarded beach with alabaster skin sporting a tiny thong. She looked so great and I envied her ability to thong in so crowded an area of the beach. As for me, I wore a classic, bright blue thong with a relatively modest front pouch. I played it pretty safe not wanting to over-do it on my first trip this year, so I didn’t stay very long, but it felt great to get back. My schedule is miserable over the next two weeks, but hoping for a beautiful August so I can make up for lost time!

Hi how do I get to this beach I live in the Providence / Cranston area of Rhode Island. Also is there a beach fee for this beach. As for Nudity I really would love to be able to go to a beach where I could be nude. Before I mved to Rhode Island many years ago I would go to Light House Beach on Long Island. However after Sandy that beach was washed away and they no longer allow nude

Yesterday: Really nice day at East Beach. Arrived around 9:30 to a virtually full parking lot (there were a few spaces left but not many). No problem with a 4x4, especially with a brand new set of tires. The usual behind the beach trails were deserted. I started the walk to my customary spot only to fine someone already there! That’s OK it’s a big beach. I spent the day in brilliant sunshine and moderate (for Block Island Sound) surf. There was a fresh breeze coming off the water all day – just enough to keep the bugs away. Not a greenhead or black fly in sight for the entire day. For the first time I wore a baggie which was promptly swept away by wave action. I spent the rest of the day in the usual tie side g-string. The guy about 30 yards down the beach was nude behind a wind screen with a g-string guy about 30 yards beyond him. Another guy in a very small g-string passed by on a beach walk, just as casual and close to nude as can be. Unfortunately no women in anything smaller than a standard bikini.

Wednesday was a beautiful day: Temps in high 70s, low humidity, steady breeze, no bugs. I hadn’t been here in years, but thought I’d try it for a change. The cost for parking is $12 weekdays and $14 weekends. The parking lot was almost full when I arrived at 9:45 AM. I parked in the regular lot where the port-a-potties are and walked about ten minutes down the beach – away from the crowds of people, but not as far as the cut-through from Lot 1 which is reachable only by 4-wheel drive vehicles. Some people coming in from Lot 1 set up about 100 feet away from me. I wore a navy blue g-string with a snug, semi-sheer, red pouch. On a walk further down the beach, I saw four guys sunbathing in thongs/g-strings. Three were by themselves, and the other was with a man and a woman wearing conservative swimsuits. The only woman in an interesting swimsuit was wearing a green string bikini and sitting under a beach sun screen tent near the water. I said hi, but she wasn’t interested in chatting. Otherwise, there were a few couples in conservative swimwear set up on the beach as I walked for about 15 minutes beyond my spot, but they all kept to themselves. There were a number of beach walkers from the main beach during the day, but they passed by without apparent interest in what anyone was wearing. It’s a very relaxed beach – a great place to be close to naked and away from just about everyone if you’re willing to trudge down the beach a ways with all your paraphernalia, or if you have a 4x4 and the appropriate permit.

I've been lucky so far this year: nice breeze, no bugs. You can't depend on he weather forecast, it's invariably for TF Green airport 30 miles away, inland from Narragansett Bay. Deep Woods Off is your only safe bet regardless of what is forecast. Always bring a bottle no matter what the weatherman says. It works for greenheads but for the little black flies nothing works. Either hope for the breeze to pickup or suffer. Fortunately they aren't around that much. In all of my many years at East Beach they have caused me to give up and leave only once. Just remember the Off.

It was Saturday afternoon around 1:00pm I got to East Beach in Chalstown to find the parking was full. I also found out there is now a Parking Fee of $7.00 if live in Rhode Island. I do not know when that started so yup I will not be going to that beach again any time soon not worth the hour drive to find a full parking lot and have to turn around. I will stick to the free beaches or going to Lincoln Woods and going out on my Inflatable Boat and being able to get a full tan with out any tan lines

Spent a spectacular day at East Beach. I arrived just after 9 a.m. to a rapidly filling parking lot. I took my 4x4 down to the camper parking area about a mile down the beach. The beach itself was pretty quiet with one or two thongers in sight. The water was perfect, temperature and wave action wise. A couple of greenheads were dispatched with a quick slap, one application of Deep Woods Off kept the rest of the bugs at bay. I wore my usual NuParr string bikini for the walks to and from the thong area and spent the day in an orange lycra tie side g-string.

I was at East Beach today as well. I was the first car in line at 8:10 but the wait was short due to many in line conversing until the beach opened. I walked the beach until I was past the textiles and set up shop. Beautiful water and a comfortable day. I’d had enough at 12:30 so was on my way.

Sorry I missed everyone! I must not have come down far enough, but was between the first two roped off areas for the piping plovers as you walk up the beach from the parking lot. I saw just one other thonger, a young woman comfortably nestled in the crowd closer to the life-guard beach. Today I wore a new suit, the Splash Swim Thong from Bang--and, immediately, it's my new favorite suit. A little pricy, but it looks and fit great. Think I'll be back end of next week. Maybe I'll see some of you then!

I was there later in the afternoon today.  I was on a run and got around .8 from the parking lot entrance down the beach and had the whole area to myself.  I went for a swim, walk, and then another swim.  I decided to go nude because nobody was there.  I might go back mid afternoon tomorrow.

This is the third time I have been there with nobody else around but I think I have been going there too late.

Another perfect day at East Beach. Arrived at a deserted beach around 9:30. The bugs (little black flies) were a problem for about the first hour or so but nothing a coating of Deep Woods Off couldn't handle. Eventually the breeze picked up and kept the bugs grounded for the rest of the day. The entire day was spent in brilliant sunshine in the usual yellow lycra tie side G-string. As the morning wore on people showed up: a few windbreaks appeared way down the beach but none very close. There were a few but not many walkers. The piping plover ropes are gone allowing access to the area behind the beach - without the shore breeze it was way too hot back there. At one point while sitting at the water's edge a seal was observed swimming past about 20 yards off the beach. All in all a very sedate day at the beach.

Excellent day at East Beach. Once again the weatherman missed his forecast. Instead of partly cloudy with some rain the day was bathed in brilliant sunshine. Surf was about one foot with a breeze strong enough to keep the bugs grounded the entire day. Arrived around 9:30 to about a half full parking lot. Drove the mile down the trail to the RV parking lot. The beach itself was largely deserted for the whole day with a total of three thongers in sight and only a few walkers. I wore the usual lycra tie side g-string for the day and a silver NuParr string mini bikini (small pouch and very cheeky) for the walk down the beach and back. I stopped in the parking lot to square the truck away for the trip home, wore the string bikini the entire time with no apparent reaction from anyone.
