Living in Md. and frequenting Sandy Point, I was surprised by a number of things about Grandview. The view was indeed grand. The beach was covered with seaweed, but after doing some landscaping I found a fairly comfortable spot. I set up about halfway between the bend and the north channel. Despite the fact it was a great day with lots of sun, no flies, and a bay breeze, there was hardly anyone there. I arrived at noon on Mon. and saw maybe 5 others set up mainly near the entrance. Upon leaving, I saw the first person walking south of the bend with a few more laying out between there and the exit to the street. I thought for sure I would see fellow thong wearers but it was just me. The biggest surprise was the fact that this beach gets some recognition on this blog but it was almost deserted! Finally, I found the water to be dirty with a sharp drop from the shore and the bay surface was fairly rough; I only went out maybe 10 feet.

I haven't in the past, but yesterday (8/28) I visited and encountered a strange guy. There was an older fellow waking up and down the beach fully clothed with a tambourine and a whistle (which he blew at me twice). After packing my things and walking towards the entrance I saw this guy again and heard him mumble something under his breath. He followed me the entire length of the path out to the street and to my vehicle. He walked past with a notepad as if he was writing down license tag numbers? After unlocking my vehicle and noticing this I started to approach him to ask if there was reason he was following me or copying my tags. He quickly kept walking and I left. Not that I was too concerned about the guy himself my his actions certainly made me a little bit uneasy.

When I was there in July, see previous post, I saw Mr. Tambourine Man on my way back. He had no whistle and he did not follow me. He said nothing to me and I forgot about him until you mentioned it. At the time, I just assumed he was a regular visitor enjoying the day. |

First it was a gorgeous day with a full day of sun and a bay breeze that kept the temps in the 70's. It is a beautiful beach about 2 miles long with lots of space, There were about a dozen other guys either nude or in thongs and a few walkers and 1 dude fishing. There was 1 family who I think walked to the very north end. Wish I lived closer, this beach is a treasure!

Several people passed by and said hello. One woman found a lost float on the beach and came up to give it to me. Had some close neighbors as the beach got a little more crowded by afternoon.

Spoke with law enforcement who confirmed that thongs are legal but that the anus has to be covered with a strap at all times. So no pouches. As to side straps, they said that your swimwear must be appropriate for the activity that you are engaged in. So sunning with a C string sounds to be okay. I wish i lived closer.

I have had the opportunity a few times this month to run in only a stuffit pouch thong. Too bad it's been just me on the beach. I wish more people would run down the beach in a thong, instead of sitting still and hoping nobody notices them or takes offense. Be bold, thong openly, confidently, and exhibit that self confidence as publicly as possible.
The exhibionist comment was because that day was an ongoing discussion on this board, in various threads, about the difference and line between sexual exhibitionism, and exhibiting body confidence and public thonging.
As you discovered, distance running in a thong is a wonderful feeling. Just stay hydrated. It helps that my beach has frequent fresh water showers, so there are many places to drink.
You said "just a few folks got an eyeful". I hope many more do. The more people see men and women in thongs, doing regular activities, with confidence, the more people will start to treat thongs as just another swimsuit choice.

I don't know if the city of hampton closed Grandview but if not, I hope to make a trek down there when the weather warms up with my fishing gear in tow... With Maryland on lockdown, there is no place to really sun.

The last time I was there a couple summers ago I went all day in a thong and had a few people stop by to see about how the fishing was going. I just go a little ways past the point to the north. Best to get there early to claim that spot.
Having a good nudist resort nearby at Ivor is a great thing too.

I love Grandview-but the flies!!! I spend way more time at buckroe beach than anywhere. No issues with people, clean bathrooms, and there’s more scenery. But if isolation is what you’re after, then Grandview is definitely your place. I have seen both men and women thonging on both beaches, but never couples!

Please cutback on starting new threads. Post replies to to existing threads on the subject.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
First paste it into notepad or other basic ascii editor so that the formatting codes are removed, then cut again. This will give you clean posts.
