I noticed the beach is wider and cleaner than last year. It was a good weather day with a nice breeze and lots of sun. There were only 3 walkers that passed me in the 4 hours I was there and 3 other thongers. A very quiet day but it was a Monday. I saw a pair of dolphins swimming north about 50 feet from shore. It's a 200 mile drive so I visit maybe twice a year. Hope to return again soon. |

As soon as I passed the first bend, I stripped to my skinz gstring and walked a bit further and lay down my towel, baited my hooks on my fishing rod and casted to do some fishing and tanning. Saturday was absolutely wonderful. Sunday was very nice but I had to deal with flies for about 2 hours toward the end. Walkers on both days, briefly talked with several of them.
Except for two late teen girls that had stupid grins on their faces, no one seemed to care. On sunday, just as a young couple including a very cute Asian woman, walked by my rod,and my Bell on the tip of my rod jingled so I ran to it and fought a decent size stingray for about 5 minutes, all the while the couple watching me fight the stingray in my gstring. After I landed it, they took a picture and she asked me if I wanted a picture with it. I passed. The guy then said "thanks for the show!"
The thing I like the most about this beach is that it is so long and peaceful. The number of people are naturally restricted because of the parking situation. This place is great! ... except for the flies on Sunday. Even deep woods off would not keep them away. |

Besides the Outer Banks, this has been one of my favorite places... natural, undeveloped and not crowded. I would have gone further down the beach if I had more time but due to my schedule, I wanted to get both fishing and tanning in asap. On my walk back both days, I saw a couple women in cheeky suits and on sunday, one in a true thong. Nothing but board shorts on the guys...except for two different guys in briefs. |

I waved. In Hampton, as long as front bits and back hole is covered with a suit "suitable for the activity," you are good. I called the police department few years ago and that was the language used to describe what was legal. A couple (woman in opt) told me the police go to the end to check the boats there to make sure their registration was good and they are not driving drunk... whether they will ticket/arrest for nudity I don't know. But if you see a vehicle and you have nothing on, I suggest you quickly put something on or run into the water! |

I assume thongs are still no problem as I have seen quite a number of women wearing them at Buckroe Beach and at the beach at FT. Monroe. I think it's called Outlook Beach. I always wore a thong at Ft Monroe beach at the far northern end when that was still open. Any reports lately. The swimsuit season is getting close there. Good days could come anytime now. |

I have seen guys walk all the way back to the road with just a thong. I think the first time my wife saw a thong on a guy he was walking in front of us on the path all the way back to his car parked on the main road. The beach was fairly crowded that day also.

When you first get to the beach you turn left and can see a pile of rocks. I saw a couple just before the rocks in matching thongs a few years ago. Usually just past the rocks is where you start to see thongs. Maybe halfway to the end you might see a few people nude. I once saw one guy walk all the way back to his car in just a thong. Thongs don't seem to be a problem at all. On the crowded public beach a few miles away I saw quite a few thongs. All women. I asked the life guard if thongs were OK there at Buckroe and she said they were. I then noticed two girls nearby in very skimpy thongs! |

It was very nice while i was there but being that i was over an hour(by boat) away from home and the skys over the eastern shore looked stormy i left early,around 3pm and headed back to the shore.hoping to head back over later this week.odd part was i didnt see anyone walking the beach |

I had the beach to myself for good chunks of time, only interrupted by walkers. Able to wear variety of suits or not. Wind was a little strong,, the sun was hot as was the air temperature. But the water is right there to cool off. Water itself was pretty warm but once you come out, the breeze cooled you right off! |

Of the times I have been there (which is not that many since I live far away), I have seen women in thongs towards the entrance in the south and some nude men in the northern part... But I have never seen other men in thongs or g strings... Only me. Of course I have never seen any nude women either...lol. I usually will decide not to go on a W wind day even if I planned on going, it always turns out to not be as enjoyable. But if it’s a W wind in the morning but transitions to a better situation, I’ll still go. |
