Re:Greece Date Posted:07/23/2010 07:01:15Copy HTML It was quite windy today - several kite surfers doing their stuff along the shoreline. Red flag at the lifeguard station but still a few people in the water. Due to the wind it was quite quiet although still a steady trickle of people walking along the beach. It was quiet enough for me to sunbathe nude all the time and for my first walk (along the quieter section of the beach although I still passed a few people on the way there and back)although for my second walk past the sunbed section I wore a Kiniki teardop mesh g-string - as tiny as the NDS I wore yesterday. I got a couple of double takes. One of the couples I passed on the way along took a couple of "secret" photos of me on my return trip. I think that, having been brave enough to wear the Kiniki pouch and the NDS g-string, I will go for a Kiniki backless pouch on my next walk. The only way I can top that is to walk nude along the beach. Doubt if I can get away with that. On my second walk I saw another "older" lady wearing a thong bikini, one of the girls I saw yesterday sunbathing in a thong and a girl braving the surf in a thong. I also saw a lady wearing thong underwear in town when we went for a drink after the beach - she was wearing a semi-transparent dress and she looked very hot in it.

Re:Greece Date Posted:03/18/2011 09:18:41Copy HTML I was in Kos 3 years ago and stayed just outside Kefalos, we tried many of the local beaches and the GF and I had absolutely no trouble wearing thongs, and some pretty small ones at that, (GF even wore a slingshot on a couple of days!!) we were by no means the only ones in them so you should have no trouble at all.
Kos town beach is a little more reserved and you may want to go for a more moderate thong there, but you will not be alone if you do wear one. Enjoy Regards PAUL |

Re:Greece Date Posted:12/10/2011 11:04:25Copy HTML I went to greece on my honeymoon 15 years ago. Unless it has changed alot, the whole country was pretty much a "do whatever you want" attitude towards swimwear. At the time, i was more into not wearing clothes than wearing skimpy swimwear, so I went nude on every beach we went too. Wife went topless and wore thong bottoms. Not one hassle the entire time. Sometimes (on some of the more remote beaches) we were the only ones unclothed...nobody cared. Mykonos was especially delightful....every women on the island was topless and most wore thongs!!!!

Re:Greece Date Posted:04/12/2012 02:18:09Copy HTML
In general the nudists tend to go to the quiet sections of the beaches. So stay at the busy parts, mostly in front of hotels, strips of restaurants or boulevards.
For your information, nude people are in general quieter and more civilized than the beer-drinking tourists at the above mentioned places. |

Re:Greece Date Posted:05/09/2012 01:52:13Copy HTML Beachlion, thanks for the info. I don´t drink beer I don´t like noisy people, but I also don´t want go full nude:) So I have to balance it somehow. Are the nude beaches in Greece somehow signed? or nude beachers just form unofficial nude beaches around there? Do I have to get nude, when I am at the nude beach?

Re:Greece Date Posted:05/09/2012 02:19:58Copy HTML
There are only a few nude beaches in Greece as far as I know. Most nudity is at the quieter sections of the beach. Nowhere do you have to be naked at a nude beach. Go as you please. You can go everywhere at the beaches in a thong or string as long as it is not obscene.

Re:Greece Date Posted:01/29/2016 10:36:18Copy HTML Nude beaches are everywhere throughout Greece.
The resources for greek nude beaches are:- http://www.capnbarefoot.info The capnbarefoot site is a fabulous resource. http://www.iswimnu.de/nudist-naturist-clothing-optional/ (World wide and iPhone App.) There are only a few legal nude beaches but there are a great many beaches where textiles and nudes coexist with their own areas.Generally nudists tend to end up at the right hand end of the beaches. Thongers should have no problems anywhere. Just consider families and children as usual. |

Re:Greece Date Posted:03/24/2016 09:33:16Copy HTML thong_relax thank you for visiting greece this summer i believe that its a very nice place with beautiful beaches !!! i have not been in kos so i dont know about the beaches etc.i have heard that it is a very beautiful island. my personal experiences are from crete....i have been there for almost two years and i loved this island!! first off all its huge !! the distance between the beaches sometimes its only a few metres but usually is 50-100 km!!! of course everywhere there is a sandy beach ( all over the coast line) but i am talking about the most famous beaches.... the beaches are very long and all of them with blonde sand like hawai or the islands in pacific ocean...at every beach you can go nude with no problem at all.i was in a very well known and famous beach, a few km outside of chania and there was a guy ( fit a really good looking) in a thong.. nobody looked to be care about him. to be honest he was with other 2 girls (young and beautiful) and once he was on the way out of the water, one of the girls tried to get away the sand from his thong by adjusting the back strap... all the men at the beach was so jealous to him !! hehehee.. so all over the greece you can wear the swimthong with no problem but especially in creete you will enjoy not only thonging but also the marvelous beaches!! please if you want any further information sent me a message..!!

Re:Greece Date Posted:03/25/2016 01:52:18Copy HTML I have been in Kos, Chios and Crete. You can wear a thong everywhere without problems. If you want to go nude, it is best to look for a somewhat secluded part of the beach. At Kos, I stayed in Tigaki on the North coast. A little to the West was a unofficial nude beach. Kos is ideal for biking so I visited also Magic Beach in the South. It is really magic. To check out the beaches, Google Earth is the way to go.
One word of warning. With the influx of refugees, the situation on some islands may be quite different now. It is best to check with your travel agency. There are reports of some friction between those refugees and tourists. Greece is a very hospitable and a nice place to spend a vacation. |

Re:Greece Date Posted:03/25/2016 03:00:29Copy HTML Thanks for the advice!
Sorry, I made a mistake: the island was Chios, not Kos. So maybe Crete is a bit far; I might choose another second island. I won't go nude, so I understood I can go everywhere without problem. Just have to choose how skimpy my swimsuit will be! |

Re:Greece Date Posted:03/27/2016 11:33:32Copy HTML Chios is quite mountainous with not much of beaches. You need a good map and a moped to explore the island. The nicest beaches are in the South and West. Most beaches are quite small and close to little villages. But a few are very nice and secluded. You could use Google Earth to find the stretches of sand you might like.
But Chios is close to the Turkish mainland so you better check it with your travel agency. |

Re:Greece Date Posted:09/29/2017 07:11:11Copy HTML I've just got back from a few days in northern Greece. I didn't get on the beach much, but wore a G-string throughout. I had no trouble on Litochoro, or at Porto Carras (I was wearing a Clothes2Pose denim-look G-string, and heard a couple of the guys at the centre remarking on it ("I too have this style, but like an elephant"). I wore the same suit for a quick dip on the beach at Kavala, and seemed to be scolded by a couple of ladies well into middle age. Ignorance of the language came in handy here. I didn't strut or pose, just walked to and from the water in my G-string. By their age, they must surely have seen plenty of male behinds.

Re:Greece Date Posted:10/29/2017 09:45:51Copy HTML Spent a few months in Greek islands this year and found it difficult to find anyone naked and Zero male thongs (other than mine).
Did find one nude beach but it was very difficult to get to (as usual) Mostly just tourists on sun lounges and some cheeky girls bottoms is the limit of it. |

Re:Greece Date Posted:02/09/2023 10:31:30Copy HTML Most of the beaches in and around Athens are family oriented and although not illegal to wear a thong there you would be in the minority.
I suggest that you stay at one of the major hotels (some of which have rooftop or outdoor pools where you can probably wear a thong) in or close to the centre of Athens and do the tourist sites (Parthenon, Lycabbitos hill, archaeological museum, other ruins, plaka district etc.). Most of these can be reached on foot or by metro if you stay close to Syntagma square and the Plaka district which is the main tourist area with shops and restaurants. Tours can be bought to do others outside the city (temple of Poseidon , for example).
For beaches you really need to head out to the islands for the best experience. You can buy tickets for ferries online or at tourist shops in Athens to go to most for a reasonable price. The closest islands are only a 1-2 hours ferry trip. Cycladic island group is about 4 hours by ferry. Maybe quicker if you take the fast ferries. Mykonos, Paros, Antiparos, Naxos, Ios and Santorini all have beaches which are thong friendly or where you can get naked to tan.
I was last there several years ago but can’t imagine that the situation has changed significantly from then till now. Send me a PM if you need any further suggestions. |

Re:Greece Date Posted:07/03/2024 04:27:54Copy HTML Visited Falasarna beach on Crete. Great location on the western side of the island. Beach was busy with several women in thongs or smaller.
I wore a skinzwear gstring all day moving several times to and from the clear blue sea to cool off and swim with no comments or issues but could see a few people doing a double take at what I was wearing. Had a great day there.
The cabanas (shade and sun loungers) at the beachfront are expensive (up to €80 for the day) but some beach bars a short distance away offer similar for ‘free’ provided you buy drinks and food to a certain amount. If you stay for the day and order drinks regularly it’s easy to reach that threshold. |

Re:Greece Date Posted:07/12/2026 10:10:14Copy HTML Recent trip to mainland Greece west coast. Very laid back and less touristy than better known destinations. Most girls in thongs/strings (like almost 100%). Young guys still in shorts with underwear, but some in shorter shorts. Only a few swim briefs. No problems in minimal swimwear - I had smallest bikini swimsuit around hotel pool and on beaches and nude on less populated beaches. Got an initial look while in and around pool but nothing negative - more inquisitive I think. Yes could have thonged but OH… |
