Date Posted:04/02/2010 04:20:36Copy HTML I will be down in coastal Mississippi in June. Does anyone know the current status of thongs on the beaches? There are several very old threads indicating it is ok, but I wondered if anyone had any current information? Thanks.

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:04/02/2010 07:32:12Copy HTML I would recommend taking a boat out to 'Ship Island" from Gulf Port Marina. There is a state park on the island and the beaches are nicer than Gulfport and Biloxi.

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:04/21/2010 09:36:00Copy HTML I will certainly try it one day, but that isn't going to work all the time as it looks like it is quite a trip and I am juggling business and pleasure. So I am back to my original question, namely where in the general Gulfport, Biloxi area is my best bet to thong?

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:04/23/2010 01:11:34Copy HTML Davy,
I live not far from Gulfport. I thong in the area frequently. If I were you, I'd head west about 10 miles toward the Long Beach/Pass Christian area. Although the beaches are up against the highway, there will be no bother. Just set up your vehicle along hwy 90 there, and pick you out a spot on the beach either close to your vehicle or right up on the water. It will be no problem where you pick, just the farther west you go, the more likely you encounter other thongers. Myself included... Hope this helps. Slim |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:04/26/2010 05:28:31Copy HTML Great! Thanks for the info. So its ok to simply park right along the side of the main highway? That is good to know as I have been to many places where that entire area would be "no parking".

Is the Long Beach/Pass Christian area still the best place on the mainland? Wife and I will be in the area for a couple days later this month. Going to spend one on Ship Island but probably won't be able to do two.

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:05/07/2011 09:02:23Copy HTML Yea, Long Beach & Pass definitely the best.
Let me know when you'll be there, and I'll make sure to join even if its for an adult beverage... lol Ship Island is ok, but just the point of being "Stuck" and then have to "Go" when they tell you too is not for me. Let me know what ya figure out... |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:05/30/2011 12:28:19Copy HTML Wife and I made it down yesterday 5/28 and found a place in front of The Univ of Southern Miss Gulf Park campus, hung out on the beach 2 days 5/28 and 5/29. Not many people in this particular area so we didn't have any trouble. Only seen one other thong besides ours. Nice looking female which was a definite plus!!!

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:01/14/2012 06:02:34Copy HTML well this thread has me very excited. I recently moved to south Louisiana and Pass Christian is about 1.5 hours away. first time I've ever lived this close to good beach, much less one that's thongable! I'll be picking saturdays and heading out once the weather warms up. this thread was great news!

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:09/21/2012 11:59:07Copy HTML Can someone post some geo-coordinates (or a precise map link) to the thong-friendly beaches on the coast near New Orleans?
I tried to "drive" along US 90 in Mississippi using Google Maps' street view, but the images were taken in January 2008 with a lot of road construction, so it was mostly useless trying to find the spots. |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:06/06/2013 05:30:24Copy HTML Spent about an hour at Pass Christian today. I was en route so couldn't stay long, and it was late in the day, so didnt get much sun but it was a great day to be out and hang out for while. I went all the way down to the point and there were sparce groups of people around, including a group of kite boarders. Nobody seemed to pay me much attention.
However one peculiar thing happened. As I was getting ready to go, a lady (not all that attractive) with her dog were walking toward me. I was fumbling with my stuff and she stopped walking and was just standing around, about 30 feet down the beach from me. It wasn't until I put my shorts on that she continued past me. And then as she did I looked at her and smiled said Hi,how are you? She didnt say a word, just gave a, what I may interpret as, an embarrassed smile, and walked on. Dont really know what to make of that, so I'll make nothing of it. But I thought it somewhat odd. Oh and I did see one other guy in a briefs swimsuit. (otherwise known as a speedo, but I'm tired of calling them that because its technically incorrect) |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:06/06/2013 03:31:48Copy HTML The term here is:Eponymous. Speedo, Kleenex, Xerox(probably not in much use these days); are all great examples. With regard to the term"Speedo", it can mean anything from square cuts to a thong in certain cases as interpreted by the general public. Most of our friends who know about my swimwear preference refer to them as "Speedos" which they are definitely not in the absolute sense.Try explaining that they are actually bikini briefs or whatever correct term applies and you get a lot of eye rolling etc..I also think that a lot of guys would have a difficult time with getting the term " male bikini" out of their mouths LOL.
Anyway sorry to sound like a d-bag English professor; just my 2 cents. |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:06/06/2013 10:42:37Copy HTML Me thinks eponyms are words developed from a persons name, like sandwich, cardigan, leotard, braille etc. For example there was an Earl of Sandwich who liked the handy way of eating meat in two bits of bread.
Speedo, hoover, kleenex were all trade names that have become common nouns, but I don't believe they are eponyms, because they are not derived from the name of a person. If there had been a Mr Speedo, then it would be an eponym. |

I was ready to cedemy position on this non sequiter but with the evolution of the English language(WHEW); I have found that there are proprietary eponyms like, well Speedo, Xerox, etc.. To our fearless leader touche or not touche?

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:07/28/2013 09:49:51Copy HTML Laying out right now in Pass Christian, or maybe its long beach. I can't tell where one starts and one begins. It's a beautiful beach day. Quite a few people out, but not crowded. I'm wearing one of my own creations, thong with half inch sides and a fairly low and narrow front, royal blue pouch and backstrap with black sides. I've had a few folks walk past me, the highway is right behind me, there are some older ladies set up and down the beach from me about 40 yards. I've been in full view of everyone, walking around, layin out. No honks from passing cars, no comments from anybody. Only issue right now is there are jellyfish in the water. I got a little bit of a sting earlier. There are also biting flies buzzing around occasionally. They are not bothering me right now but they were earlier. May bring bug repellent if you're planning on coming here. The water level is way down right now revealing several Sandshoal's off of the wateredge. It's a nice day and this is a good, thongable spot. Don't hesitate if you're planning on coming here.

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:08/08/2013 05:30:14Copy HTML One interesting thing to note about the day I was at Pass Christian and I made the above post. Shortly after I wrote that, a cop showed up. There were some late teen/early twenties kids that had been hanging out on a (apparently) private pier that was about forty yards down to my left from where I was set up. The pier's gated, but the water was low enough that anyone could wade out to the end where there was a boat dock about four feet above the water. There were four girls and a guy. They had been there for about an hour and a half, just sitting on the dock and talking and walking around in the water. I was sitting, reading, and not paying anyone much of any mind. Suddenly I heard a very loud "Hey!" So loud it reverberated off the under side of the pier and made a distinct echo. I looked to my left and there was a cop standing at the water edge, right next to the pier, facing the group of kids, who were now wading in the water out about half the length of the pier. The cop called them over and I couldn't hear anything from there on out. Eventually an elderly man showed up, who I presume to be the owner or caretaker and whom had call the authorities about someone being on his pier. They stood there for 15 minutes and then the kids walked back down the beach past me and the officer walked up and around behind me.
Although I was sitting, I was sitting on a towel with nothing behind me obstructing the view of my lower body. So I know from where the cop was walking he had to have noticed that I was in a thong. And, delightfully, was not obliged to say anything to me about it when he finished business with the teenagers. Plus, he past me two times (to and from his car, which was parked on the street to my right, with lights flashing the entire time). And even if he didn't see clearly that I was in a thong, he would have at least seen that I had a lot of skin exposed (which always catches eyes). And if it were an issue he would've come over to investigate. I mention this because, even though we hear or read that thongs are legal in some particular area, you just never no how its going to go over when in the presence of a law enforcer. So this was a good experience for thongers on Pass Christian beach. I also did not overhear any comments from the kids who had walked past me several times earlier in the day. Well, thats not true. After they left the conversation with the cop they were walking past me and I heard one of the girls say, "what a persnickety old man." Which of course was about the old man and not about me. Because I'm not old and I don't think its possible to be persnickety while wearing a thong on a beach. In fact I'd say we convey the antithesis of persnickety. |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:06/11/2018 08:07:30Copy HTML I have thonged a few times out past Gulfport on Long Beach. Less crowded the further west you go but you will still have cars driving behind you on Hwy 90 but if you find a good dune you won’t be seen if your worried. I’ve never had any issues but not sure if anyone could see me either. The sand is perfect but the water isn’t that great. The last time I thonged there a guy 200 yards down got up and started heading my way for a walk. As he approached I noticed no shorts and that he was wearing a g string. He was walking right by the water and for sure could be seen by the cars driving by. Go for it, the beaches are nice.

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:06/25/2018 03:34:43Copy HTML I was on the coast this weekend and got a chance to thong on Saturday out on Long Beach. We found a good spot where the dunes were shielding us from HWY 90. It was pretty hot and the water was warm but I got plenty of sun with a skinz thong. Beach was really quiet.. only one or two people walked by with no care. Later that night my wife and I kayaked over to Deer Island to camp over night on the ocean side. We pretty much had that whole side of the island all to ourselves and I wore a JS blue thong the whole time. Not a soul around and very nice. You can pretty much do what you want, no rangers or anything.

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:06/14/2020 12:55:23Copy HTML Tropical storm Cristobal left behind rafts of flotsam along Mississippi’s beaches. Mostly plant matter presumably from the barrier islands. Heavy equipment was being used to gather it up into piles. It seems much will be used to build new dunes near Hwy. 90, offering more privacy for sunbathers. I drove from Pass Christian to Biloxi and estimate only about 1/3 is cleared / picked up so far. This had the effect of concentrating beach goers into areas already cleared.
I laid out in a Skins g- string, separating myself from others by a large pile of flotsam. Cars on the highway could see me, but at a distance and I wasn’t up walking around. Soon a group of 5 ladies arrived and set up down the beach from me. One was wearing a cheeky that looked like a thong when she bent over. Seemed she was a regular as she was quite tan and had no inhibitions about walking around, going into the water and back, etc. Within 30 minutes a family group arrived, initially considering setting up right next to me. The young boys wanted to climb on the piles of sand and flotsam. After getting close enough to see me, their dad guided them around to the opposite side of the big pile where he set up their chairs. But, the boys continued to run all around where I was anyway. I decided to pick up my stuff and head to another location. I pulled on shorts and walked back to my vehicle and as I glanced back I watched that family immediately picked up their chairs and relocated to where I had been. This gave me a laugh. I drove all the way to one of my preferred areas in Biloxi beach but discovered the loaders and dump trucks were still cleaning up there. That beach was not yet open so back to the car and returning west to Gulfport where I set up on the beach-side of a dune offering some shelter from Hwy. 90. I stayed here reading for about 90 minutes until more families arrived and set up closer than I preferred. Again I pulled on my shorts, returned to my car and drove further west to Long Beach. Here I found a place well away from other beach goers but the degraded sand dunes offered little shielding of highway traffic. Also, the line of flotsam had not been picked up here, but the amount lining the water’s edge here wasn’t as great as other areas. I stayed here another 90 minutes, passed by only 2 walkers as I was reading. When returning to my car I saw one girl in a thong and her friend in a cheeky walking towards the restrooms. Another girl wearing a cheeky was playing volleyball with her family. While driving back west along Hwy. 90 towards home I saw another girl in a black thong bikini with a group of perhaps 10 friends or family. They were set up in full view of the highway and she was up walking around, even bending over adjusting her beach towel with no concern about motorists. I couldn't tell what others in their group were wearing as they were all sitting in chairs or laying on towels. So, in the coming weeks as crews complete cleanup, these beaches will be good for thong wearers. Just monitor the water quality at the state of Mississippi DEQ website as they often have bacterial problems, particularly after rain storms: https://opcgis.deq.state.ms.us/StoryMapBeaches/index.php sarasotajt |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:06/15/2020 05:18:39Copy HTML I was wondering how the MS coast faired after that storm. I saw lots of flooding on HWY90. When on the MS coast I always just go out west to Long Beach to layout. I try to find an area where you can’t see me from the road. One area that seems to have worked good for me is out close to the Walmart on 90. I set up out there close to the dunes and layed out in a thong with no issues. Only a couple people passed me but actually one guy in a g string about 100 yards away got up and walked the beach passing me. Haven’t been in a couple years but hoping that thong trend continues on the MS coast!

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:10/02/2024 12:23:44Copy HTML On Sunday I took my SUP board to Biloxi beach. There were some people out, but it wasn’t crowded at all. I kept my gym shorts on as I carried my board and gear from parking to the water’s edge, and then paddled east, away from the other people. Under a palm tree I left my cooler, gear bag and shorts, and proceeded to continue paddling eastward wearing a home made “baggie / g-string” as my intention was to eliminate tan lines.
I was paddling with the wind and reached a line of wood piling from an old dock. After watching the shorebirds a bit I turned around and attempted to paddle back. The wind made the water choppy, and my sunscreen made my footing slippery so I had to sit down on the board for the return paddle.
Though there was a dune, while standing up paddling I was exposed to highway traffic.
Upon returning I spread out my towel and laid out for a bit.
Soon I got bored so I put my shorts back on and carried my board and gear back to my vehicle, reloading the board on the roof rack. I then drove west, looking for a more interesting place to lay in the sun. I ended up stopping on the west end of Gulfport. This time I left my SUP on the vehicle as paddling was too difficult with the choppy surf and wind. I walked east beyond the beach goers and close to a flock of shorebirds, spread my towel, dropped my shorts, and got another hour of sun.
Eventually, I saw one lady in the distance walking into the surf with one of her girl friends. She was wearing a white g-string with a tiny triangle back, while her friend wore a conservative monochrome one-piece. It was nice to see the “g” lady slowly walking out to deeper water without appearing self conscious though she was in view of others. |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:11/09/2024 01:49:26Copy HTML I’ve made three day-trips to Biloxi area beaches late summer or early fall. I brought my SUP on trip 1, launching from where Veterans Ave hits the sand. This is about the shortest distance to haul my gear from vehicle to water’s edge. I wore a y-back “baggie” g-string to minimize tan lines as I paddled east and west along about 50 yards or more off the beach. Few other beach goers here, and most were walkers. Buildings and dunes shield me from the vehicles on highway 90 in this area. I got close to pelicans and other shorebirds roosting on old pier pilings, and saw a dolphin. I got great sun and had no interactions with others.
The two more recently trips were stopovers while passing through the area on the interstate. On the first of these I wore a Skins adjustable front g-string, laying out or walking the beach east of the public pavilion/restrooms located east of above-mentioned Veterans Ave. I like this area because dunes mostly shield the beach from highway traffic. Wanting to rinse off before continuing my longer drive, I drove across the Biloxi Bay bridge to Ocean Springs where I laid out in my g-string for another hour. Very few people were on any of these beaches as it was a fall weekday. Ocean Springs maintains freshwater showers periodically along their beachfront which was nice to remove the sand, sunscreen and sweat before continuing my drive.
The final beach thonging time was on the return drive a few days later. I returned to the beach pavilion area in Biloxi where I was again undisturbed by any of the few others at the beach.
It was nice to end the year with a bit of a tan, enjoying unseasonally warm temperatures. |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:03/28/2026 01:18:33Copy HTML Earlier this week I took a two night trip to the Mississippi coast with my kayak. Arriving around noon the first day my focus was thonging and birding. I made several stops along Hwy 90 beginning in Pass Christian and proceeding east to Biloxi. Being a weekday and windy there were few people on the beach. While driving thru Pass Christian I’m fairly certain a young woman laying by herself on the beach was wearing a thong but I didn’t stop.
Eventually I got to the boardwalk area east of Snapper’s Seafood. The buildings and dunes provide a screen from passing by vehicles on the highway in this area. I laid out east of the public beach pavilion and enjoyed the afternoon here. I was wearing a new Jaxfstk thong which I love. It has minimal, push-out coverage, bright colorful patterns and soft smooth fabric. There weren’t many people in this area either, and storm drain construction was going on with backhoes and big piles of sand in several locations. These blocked beach walkers in at least one area. I freely walked up and down the beach in this area several times. A pair of young women were laying out on beach vendor lounge chairs nearby. One occasionally walked around picking up trash but the other stayed on her lounge. They wore cheeky bikinis. At one point during a long walk away from my towel the beach patrol jeep drove by but they didn’t even slow down.
Day two I kayaked out to Deer Island coastal preserve. This time I stripped to a baggie at the launch site just before sitting down in my kayak. There were no other persons around aside from passing vehicles on the highway. I spent about five hours paddling along the mainland side of the island, stopping to walk out on the pier (still wearing only the baggie). I found a trail and crossed the island to the Gulf (ok, Mississippi Sound) side and took long walks up and down the shore, watching birds and a pod of dolphins with binoculars. Here I did encounter several groups of people, but all at considerable distance. Group one were three fully dressed people walking west, presumably back to their boat at the popular anchorage area. They were already passed me when I emerged from the trail but I know they did turn and see me. Group two were wildlife photographers arriving by boat. They were walking west and I east, so we were destined to cross paths. I waded out into the water to put some distance between us as we passed without incident. The third group was a family also arriving by boat. I think the dad saw me and intentionally motored further east, well beyond my towel and cooler to give me some space. At this point I was ready to leave the island so I returned to the trail and crossed back to my kayak. I paddled back to the launch and pulled on shorts as soon as I exited my boat.
That afternoon after loading my kayak back on my vehicle I drove over to Ocean Springs and slowly drove along the beachfront road. Numerous people were out enjoying the beach here and I saw several women wearing cheekies or thong suits. Arriving at the east end near the boat ramps I grabbed my towel and lunch, donned my Jaxfstk thong again, and laid out for over an hour. I did eventually stand and walk into the water for a swim, but otherwise did not parade around. One pair of girls did go for a walk in the direction of the boat ramps. One of the pair sported a thong bikini.
Eventually all of my beach neighbors in this area left so I too decided to relocate. I drove back to the west end of Ocean Springs beach and spread my towel in an open area beneath a palm tree. There was a group of girls 50 yards to my east - 2 of 3 wearing thongs, and another group of young adults to my east - one of these wearing a very cheekie bikini. She and her boyfriend stood and played paddleball without a care of who walked or drove by.
Weather ruined the third and final day. I loaded everything and drove west along Hwy 90 to Pass Christian, stopping at multiple places along the way to view groups of shorebirds. |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:03/31/2026 03:09:30Copy HTML Nice trip and nice report jt. I used to live in Ocean Springs, but only for a year, and it was after my last posts in this thread (2013, apparently).
I used to put in my paddle board at the east end of East Beach and paddle out to the marsh. I had made my self a pair of tear-away shorts (fastened with velcro on the sides) just for paddling out there and being able to remove them once I got out from shore. (It's a little cumbersome trying to slip shorts over your feet whilst on a tippy board). My paddle board was a big, floaty one. Actually it was a big windsurf board, you can see the pictures of it in my Deer Island album. I would venture into these small channels that led into the marsh and a lay out on the board. In hindsight it could've been risky because there are alligators in the area, although I'm pretty sure the water in the marsh is too salty for their liking. I'd also occasionally paddle around to the Biloxi Bay side and walk along the beach.
One time when I was out there, I suppose someone from the houses saw me at distance and thought it'd be cute to fly their drone over and check me out. I just sat on my board so as not to flash any cheeks, which is probably what they were after. I just looked at the drone, then made the appearance of going back to what I was doing, but in reality I wish I'd had a shotgun with me. It was there for just a minute and then gone.
And as my pictures indicate, I used windsurf over to Deer Island as well. I'd launch from the parking area for East Beach and shoot across the channel, always watching out for ship traffic. The tear-away shorts were good for that too, I could actually take them off and put them on while windsurfing. In retrospect I should've just launched from the beach parking area in a thong (which could have a small crowd at times), but since I lived in the area I was somewhat concerned about small town talk. I wouldn't care now, but did at the time. But Deer Island was great. I loved riding over there and laying out and hanging around on the small beaches on the bay side.
I had a few other adventures around there that weren't thong related: sunk my Hobie Cat, got stung by a sting ray. It's a great area. If I had to move back stateside (I'm in the Caribbean now) I'd move back to Ocean Springs in a second. |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:05/04/2026 12:34:02Copy HTML I took my wood strip built SUP out for a beautiful day at Bay St Louis, MS. This is in Hancock Co, across the bay from Harrison Co, which contains the municipalities from Pass Christian to Biloxi. I say this only to note the possibility different legal environment. I’m happy to report that I saw at least 8 thongs on ladies throughout the day so these beaches are thong friendly like those to the east.
I wore a fairly conservative copper colored Skinz thong while paddling. When I launched before noon on a Sunday the beach wasn’t crowded and only one gal laying out in her thong, with other couples and families spread out along the beach. I paddled west along mostly deserted beach. My gear included a cooler with water and lunch, and a dry bag with beach towel, sunscreen, etc.
When I got fatigued I rested on the beach for a while soaking up the sun. The wind picked up during the return trip so I reloaded the SUP on my van for the day. One or two more thong gals had arrived while I was paddling, but so did more families and board short dudes so I pulled on shorts while reloading.
The rest of the day I drove north a few blocks above the marina. A pedestrian ramp system provides access to the beach below and (a big plus) vehicles passing on the road can’t see the beach. Three thong wearing ladies were in this area when I arrived, each with their board short man and with dogs which are allowed on these beaches on a leash (not often observed.) An area up near the US 90 bridge across the bay was fenced off for least tern nesting. I switched to a briefer, brightly colored Orocojuco push up thong and walked the length of this beach several times with my binoculars looking at birds. I also saw an additional lady wearing a red thong on a boat anchored offshore. I also spread out my towel and laid out for an hour, enjoying a sandwich for lunch. I could hear live music from the very active bars / restaurants a block to the west. Some walked down to check out the beach. For the day I saw at least 10 women wearing thongs or very cheeky back bikinis. No men, and my Orocojuco was the smallest suit of anyone. On the drive home I headed west along Waveland beaches towards the State park and casino. Public parking seems very limited except for one lot with the beach pavilion and restrooms. Other parking is on the grass/ sand along the road, but this is prohibited in front of many residential properties. By this time it was late afternoon and a cool wind had picked up, so this area was still populated mainly with families. Picnic tables were well used. No thongs were seen here but likely were present earlier in the day when it was warmer. Nice day overall and I hope to repeat. I noticed the beach showers did work here in Hancock County, as opposed to those in Harrison Co. across the bay which haven’t worked in years. |

Re:Gulfport, Biloxi Date Posted:08/16/2026 01:06:43Copy HTML Yesterday I took my SUP board to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for a paddle in the Mississippi sound. This time I went to Waveland Beach, which is the western most municipality in the Biloxi – Gulfport area. When I arrived at 11 AM, I first climbed the tower to the restrooms and looked out over the beach from the observation deck. Immediately below me was a woman wearing a black thong bikini and further to the west near the edge of this beach was another woman wearing a Brazilian back suit. There were several other groups of people, but not many. The oppressive heat is keeping people away from the beaches. I returned to my vehicle, changed into my thong, unloaded my SUP board and carried it out to the waters edge at the western end of the beach. I chose to stay away from as many people as possible.
Next to where I parked was a beach concession trailer, but all doors and windows were closed. Turns out it was open and operated by a woman who I saw get something from her Jeep, which was parked next to me, and take it back to her vendor trailer. I didn’t think much of it.
I made two trips, carrying my equipment from the parking lot across the sand to the waters edge, and I went for a paddle out among the old pier pilings long ago destroyed by storms. I was greeted by a pod of dolphins who came to check me out. After this first excursion I returned to the beach, spread out my towel and pulled lunch out of my cooler. By this time the girl wearing the Brazilian back suit had left. Of the other parties on the beach I heard no direct comments to me, but I’m sure they were making remarks among themselves – particularly a group of young couples wading in the water. After reapplying sunscreen, I went for a second paddle, this time in the other direction around the fishing pier which also was closed, having been severely damaged by storms. Upon my return to the beach, the lady wearing the thong who had been freely walking about to the water and back and around the restroom area, left for the day. I decided to gather my equipment and go explore other parts of the coast.
As I was loading my SUV still wearing only my thong, the gal running the concession past behind me leading children in each hand towards the restroom. I had no idea they were there in the trailer After finishing loading and tying things down I walked over to the shower and rinsed off without incident. I drove a few miles east to the next beach facility with restrooms and scanned the area. Seeing only family groups. I decided to keep driving east to Bay St. Louis where I had enjoyed the beach on a previous trip. I parked in the harbor lot, but because there was so much activity of fully dressed people walking between the bars and the harbor and pier I pulled on my shorts and collected my beach gear to head out onto the sand. This time I left the SUP on the vehicle.
I walked a little ways away from the pier and set up my spot looking down the beach. I saw only one group of people between me and the US 90 bridge so I grabbed my binoculars and enjoyed a leisurely walk down the beach beneath the bridge and back. There were lots of shore birds to enjoy on the mud flats, and offshore there were numerous boats gathered along a sandbar. I eventually noticed one gal on a pontoon boat wearing a thong.
I returned to my towel and, seeing an empty beach, I decided to leave. I drove back to my first location in Waveland. Upon arrival I stepped out of my van and began to reapplying sunscreen in the parking lot. Then the yelling began. The beach vendor was an entire family, and the husband had some choice words for me - evidently I’m a pervert and psychopath. The wife yelled “there are children here” as they instructed their child to quit looking in my direction. She held her phone to her mouth so I assumed she was calling the police so I left.
