Date Posted：01/02/2013 06:36:12Copy HTML I have information from a reliable source today that as of Autumn/Winter 2013 HOM will be discontinuing the HOM Plume range and just continuing with Micro and Hipster styles.
From what I can gather from our conversation as well is that due to some "focus groups" that they ran in France HOM no longer want to be in the String/Thong market so i'm just speculating here but it could be that they pull all strings and thongs from their ranges and that would include the Fredy which has been one of their best sellers for many, many years (alongside the plume) So if you like the HOM plumes then get them whilst you can and make sure you stock up. |

To be honest, I cannot understand some focus groups - it was my belief that thongs and g-strings had become a viable alternative for mens underwear (as opposed to briefs and boxers) judging by the explosion in variety, colours and materials they are now available in.For example, you only have to look at the likes of Manstore, Olaf Benz, Pikante and Gregg Homme just to name a few which reflects how many manufacturers are leading the way in the undies market. If anything, I would have liked HOM to have gone skimpier than they already do and produce a tiny G-string for men with a Fredy style string back and string sides....now there's a thought. |

I think this is strange, as the number of thong styles in these two years have actually increased, including different colours, I can get 5 new thongs from HOM this Autumn/Winter 2012. I do wonder what that focus group of people are thinking.
I am not a fan of the plume string at all, but I am really enthusiastic towards other ranges of thongs from HOM, the temptation and chic collections are still my favourite. Does this mean that HOM will produce thongs for the last time in Spring/Summer 2013? How many are they going to release? |

However I always found the Fredy uncomfortable with the string back and the Plumes a bit too skimpy/feminine like for my liking.

Plumes are one of the most common thongs on the market, as it appears from various websites, shops and the likes, and the impact this could have on the market as a whole is quite worrying. It does seem odd that HOM are thinking of pulling out when, as far as I'm aware, the thong market is booming.

As of Spring/Summer 2014 the HOM plume strings will be discontinued (forgot to ask about fredys) in all colours. For this reason we just made sure that we bought the last of what they had left in their warehouse of the Temptation Plume Colours String |

Must admit have moved on and now a fan of Olaf Benz and Manstore as well as Joe Synder. No great surprise ##though.

There is one new thong in the AW 13 collection but after that i'm told that there will be no more thongs produced by them. I don't personally know of any other thong that has the same thin cord/string understrap but we are working on something ourselves. |

But it is a shame they're so keen to eliminate all of the products that used to make them what they were, because they have nothing that appeals to me anymore.

To me, they are the best strings I ever bought. The original models (the set with one black and one white) were very well cut and the wait band was fairly strong to hold the string in place. After that there was no real strategy on what to do and instead of offering new colours they just put out very few items, some using the left over material from the Samba range. If this is true, I shall probably stick to Jovana K line, their products are not as nice as the Plume, but much cheaper. |

We've been working closely on another brand on something for the past 6 months which I've kept up our sleeves (or down or trousers perhaps).
One of you on here knows about it already (but I swore them to secrecy) so tomorrow we are going to be launching something that will interest HOM Plume fans (but it's not by HOM). |

Ok here we go. We've been working for the past 6 months with another brand to source fabric as close as we could to the plumes and also helped design a string that again is very close to the plume without being so close that it would be classed as a copy. So i'm happy to announce that today we launched the Doreanse Aire range which is available in a single pack string and also trunk (with bikini brief to follow). Now it's an experiment to see how well it goes so at the moment it's only been made in black as that was the most popular selling colour in the plume. Perhaps we could do a pole on colours to help you, but I felt that the plumes were a bit conservative with colour - they missed a trick and I think a huge market. All one colour is great (black, blue, purple, green, orange, red, yellow, pink etc) but swapping out either the edging / waist band to a different colour would be great - like the limited edition black with pink and black with red, but instead of it always being 'black with...' having two different colours like blue and orange etc... I never liked the 'waistband one colour, rest another'. And it's great to see a plume style competitor without a T back!!!! Thoughts? |

Also, while I loved the plume type new doreanese, again, i wish the rear would be the triangle back tapering to a string instead of the obligatory 2.5 cm thick strap. I've seen a couple of French retailers already listing them but no one in the UK yet so they can't be far away (although it is HOM so i'd take that with a pinch of salt) |

The Doreanse Elektra thong is really hot and a good replacement for HOM plume thongs.

Please cutback on starting new threads. Post replies to to existing threads on the subject.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
First paste it into notepad or other basic ascii editor so that the formatting codes are removed, then cut again. This will give you clean posts.
