Never had a problem wearing my Skinz stuffit G-strings there and my wife wearing her Wicked Weasel's. The staff is very friendly and don't have a problem with what you wear. You may have another guest complain but that can happen anywhere. You can PM me if you want more info.

Wow, the parking rates have skyrocketed.... Along the north part of Hollywood beach, it's $3.00/hour for non-residents... and it asks if you are a resident and for you to enter your license plate number... I wonder what the resident rate is because in this area, the meters don't tell you at all how much it is per hour - you just have to wait until you put in money to see. I don't know how much the big parking lot is, the last time I was here, it was $10.00.
And the cameras and cops at every turn. It's intimidating... I'm not doing anything "wrong" but many people make me feel like I am when I wear a thong or g-string... and it feels weird to know that you are on camera just about the entire time... And when I'd go to the beach, I might check out a few areas first... I'd move on if it was too crowded... That might look suspicious if they are actually watching. And I'd walk the path, like others would do, along North Hollywood Beach... well, that just isn't doable (for me) with the hundreds and hundreds of cameras... And at the big parking lot at the south end of Fort Lauderdale Beach, there are hundreds of cameras all over the area. Some posts have four or five cameras. And the cops, you can't go 20 feet without running into a cop or seeing a cop in a car... I understand that they need to patrol, etc... but it isn't "fun" anymore... not at all. |

I haven't had any problems, even walking along the beach from the south end to the middle. That said, women in thongs don't bat an eye, but even a squarecut on a man is a rarity. Apparently I was quite the spectacle. Suffice to say I am in Instagram feeds around the world. Edit: Unfortunately, my experience later in the day, about 4pm, was not so pleasant with bros yelling from the broadwalk, and even shouting for nearby strangers to look. I do my best to ignore them, but I'll probably be sticking to mornings. |

A little rain this morning, but should clear up: We are meant to get some sun this afternoon.
Sorry about the "bros on the boardwalk". A simple solution, just go for a swim and they will probably wonder off. It is strange how one or two bad comments can taint all the positive smiles and encouragement from others. If they happen I tend to pretend I did not hear them.
Another approach is to smile and wave. This often causes the most homophobic one in the group to turn to another and say "He is waving at YOU", replied with "No bro, he is waving at YOU." Now they are uncomfortably laughing at each other, and since none of them wants to be accused, or continue the subject, they move on.

I walked the northern portion of the beach in a Skinz Adjustable Micro G String. No women in thongs but did notice one guy in a thong and another in a g string. I chatted with the gentleman in the g string and he indicated that he was a regular and often sees other men in thongs or g strings.

I had such a great time last year. I was amazed by how open and accepting the area felt. There was a couple with two toddlers that set up 20ft from me with no problem. A group of bigger women in thier 20 rocking cheeky swimsuits on the other side. I even walked a bit of the broadwalk in just a string without a word from anyone. Sure, there were a few shouting bros, but they were the exception.

I've visited there a few times (most recently '19) and wore a G string with no problem at all; walked the beach at bit and walked out on the pier as well - great feeling! Thinking I'd like to go a bit further next summer and wear my teardrop G strings but was wondering if any of the veterans on here could advise on whether that's pushing the envelope a bit too much.

Walk the beach, join a game of volleyball or stroll the promenade, rather than go teardrop. I find teardrop and baggies tend to leave you flopping around which may please the sexual exhibitionists' but I don't think they look good, unless you have the body of a Greek God, then everything looks good.
You are more likely to get complements and maybe change peoples attitudes a little by wearing something small, that keeps you tucked in, and acting completely normal. So a more regular g-string and engaging in normal social beach activates.

I layed down and got some sun, walked up and down the beach, and walked along the board walk for a long while and got a drink all in my thong. Nobody had a problem at all. Some smiles and stares, but that’s it. Police and lifeguards passed me several times and not a word. I even walked back to the parking garage in just my thong . Definitely one of the best areas to strut your stuff |

Sebastian is between Las Olas Blvd and Sunrise Blvd, part of the main Fort Lauderdale beach strip.
Hollywood Florida is South of the airport, and South of Dania Beach. About 15 to 20 minutes drive from Fort Lauderdale Beach. |

We are thinking about purchasing a place on the south side in the high rise condo area. We spent a few days on the beach I wore my thongs and G-strings without any problems. We went up to the northside and walked the boardwalk and visited the beach for a few days. A lot of women in thongs and a few guys in bikinis. What caught my eye was a gentleman walking the beach in smaller bikini picking up trash using the beach provided little bucket. We saw him a couple times and thought that could be my new job if when I move down.

On my two day stay last week I learned that the presence of a few fancy resorts has barely changed a thing. Same funky hotels and accepting attitude. Except for the evenings (which were too chilly). I spent my days clad only in a crochet g-string and a crochet teardrop. In the morning I left my hotel room clad in only a g-string and got coffee at the Hagen-Dazs. I returned to my room to pick up a towel and beach chair and settled in. Soon I realized that I needed sunscreen and headed for a nearby shop to buy some. I had a beer at one bar where one of the female customers told me how much she liked my suit and me in it. The waitress was equally complimentary. I sat at a table outside in the shade for lunch and enjoyed people watching on the boardwalk. I then went for a long walk up the boardwalk past Margaritaville and then back along the surf. Two middle aged ladies chased me down to tell me “you are the bomb” and how much they admired my confidence. One of the ladies told me that I was an inspiration for her to shape up and start wearing much smaller suits. They had their husbands come over and take pictures together. I finally left, having enjoyed another wonderful day in Hollywood Beach. |

I checked into the Hollywood Beachside Boutique Suites. They have a number of buildings scattered about and a small pool. It was threatening rain so I walked to Le Tub for dinner. Great place along the intracoastal.
The next morning I got up and donned a small crochet g-string and went to the front desk to arrange for a late checkout, pickup a beach chair and beach towel. I dropped them off in my room and headed to the broadwalk for breakfast. The hostess greeted me warmly and seated me at a table on the broadwalk under an umbrella. After breakfast I retrieved the chair and towel from my room and set up on the beach. I spent a great day relaxing, swimming, shopping, etc. all in my g-string. Close to my 3 PM checkout time I returned to the motel and returned the chair and towel. When I went back to my room, I noticed in the mirror that the crochet had stretched a bit and had become a little more open weave than I anticipated. I then showered and dressed for my trip to Miami to return the rental car.
Hollywood Beach has become my favorite alternate to South Beach. I love the fact that I can eat, drink and shop along the broadwalk in just a g-string. |

Yes I wore a G string on the sand, no I didn't get arrested. I saw several women in thongs, a few guys in bikinis, no other male thongs.
The vibe was way way different than Southbeach! Instead of TIV ( max 1-2) I started counting OHBIV (overhanging bellies in view) and yes on men and women double digits!
I didn't feel "uncomfortable" or harassed in a G string but it wasn't inviting! I didn't feel I could walk around or walk on the board walk as others have done- just too many OAP's and families with kids!
Wearing a "baggie"?? no I think the cops sitting in their cars on the boardwalk might have separated from their coffee cups to talk to me or more!
On a scale of 1-10 with Sobe a 9-10 for acceptance and tolerance, HB is a 4, Ft. Lauderdale a 7-8. There are several other beaches in S Fla more inviting for my thongwearing days. |

1) Locals get so many good beach days, if the forecast is poor then they are more likely to be off running errands, doing laundry or shopping.
2) Pretty young women who wear thong swimsuits don't live in Barbie Boxes: They have to pay rent so most have jobs. Many have evening bar and restaurant jobs so more likely to be catching beach time in the mornings than afternoon. Others may work Monday to Friday so more likely to be at the beach on Weekends.
3) It is more likely to be sunny in the mornings than afternoons. In the summer, April through October, as a general rule the beach tarts to cloud over and later we get afternoon rain.
4) What you might call a nice day in the tropics we may call WINTER! Locals tend to go to the beach when it is really hot, and not so much once the summer cools off.
So on a Tuesday afternoon in our Winter you are going to see more fat Canadian snowbirds than young women in thongs. They will still be there, just less than on a scorching hot summer morning. |

However it is true that Hollywood has long been a prime destination for Canadian snowbirds. Where as the next place down the beach, Hallandale, has a lot of Russian and eastern Europeans. Within this mega-metropolis we have places where you will find national concentrations, like Cuba, or Haiti, or Venezuela.
What I was trying to point out is the population on the beach and boardwalk CHANGES during the day, week and year. You are more likely to see lots of locals in thongs on hot sunny days in the summer, rather than cooler or cloudy days in the winter when the boardwalk and beach are mostly populated by tourists from northern climes. |

Surprisingly the old Russian and Jewish guys were the ones wearing speedo style suits. Not sure if it was a fashion choice, or not being bothered to spend money to replace their suits from the 1970's. Now that I'm retired and even though my wife doesn't care for them, I wear thongs because IDGAF, and I can't be naked. |

1. On the sand: Are these styles permitted so long as genitals are fully covered with opaque material and there’s no lewd conduct? YES
2. Is there any rule requiring the buttocks to be covered, or are the rules focused on genital coverage only? NO
3. Off the sand: Are different standards enforced on the Broadwalk, sidewalks, parking lots, etc.? NO" |

Hollywood is quiet and very laid back and I’ve found over 25 years that I’m able to enjoy being in very minimal swimwear. It has long been a Canadian destination but I understand that less of them are currently coming to Florida. |

Yes there are some children/parents and a few twenties, few if any teens- and many 70-90 year old people. South Beach varies according to time of year/day and exact location- butt many more teen/twenty/thirty year old people. On South Beach "roving ..young people" usually means 8-14th St and spring or summer.
Again if you'd like to experience something in the middle I suggest Ft Lauderdale beach-- butt also microlocation differences are there and talked about in a thread for that beach. |

Thanks to the comments on this post and to Sailor250 for his questions to officials on the rules. For the first time I passed all beach days (4) wearing only a thong. Usually I ask myself too much questions on the acceptance on others about my swimwear. That was so fun, even if I was the only one in around me. I might have been photographed and in the conversations of some beachgoers, but I feeled really relax and happy with buns out.

Nice place with a pool and every room opens directly to the outside, no hallways or lobbies to contend with. Once I got there, I put on a C-string and a waist chain. Spent the day sitting on a beach chair, walking the boardwalk, shopping and having lunch at the Lone Palm Beach Bar. Later in the afternoon I had a drink at the bar in the Venice Restaurant. The second day I did the same thing in a baggie and chain and enjoyed both breakfast (Ocean Alley) and lunch (Taco Joint). The only time I put on anything more was when I went to Le Tub for dinner.
I was welcomed at the bar/restaurants where I ate and in the shops where I bought sunscreen and flip flops. The majority of people treated me like I had on dork shorts. I noticed a few folks staring and I did get some nice compliments. One Karen yelled at me for being “Nasty” with kids around. On both days I had a police cart pass me by while I was walking down the beach. They didn’t even slow down, much less bother me. |

Looked like 5th Ave in Manhattan with several police cars in the crowd. The beach was full of canopies and people wall to wall. I didn't know it could be that popular! Whenever I'm there on a weekday it's not crowded but still lots of cop cars. |
