Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:07/13/2022 02:20:23Copy HTML Ended up staying in New Orleans for work last evening. Got a nice hotel with a rooftop pool near Bourbon Street and checked it out around 6pm. There were three kids and what seemed like 2 mom's that were friends or sisters. One was wearing a regular 2 piece not even cheeky but the other was wearing a full thong. It made me feel comfortable wearing my thong and they were friendly.
I assumed they were potentially European but no, just random midwesterner's. I am really loving how common thongs are getting and the acceptance on men as well. The kids were polite and well behaved. They didn't seem to have a care in the world regarding what their mother was wearing. I can't recall the last time anyone was even rude to me. If you are normal and friendly everyone is so accepting. People enjoy interesting and non boring people, be yourself. :) |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:08/29/2022 03:41:39Copy HTML Just last week I was at a Baymont just north of St. Louis. I have stayed there many times, and typically wear a Rio back suit. I have had many people notice, and generally not a word said. One time quite a while back I went to the lobby in just the Rio, to get a towel. There was a woman checking in, and another waiting in line for something from the desk. It took about 20 minutes for the woman to check in, not sure the problem. The other woman waiting in line couldn't keep her eyes off me. I would pace a bit, and each time I would stop, I would have a different angle for her. She practically stared the suit off me. At one point another woman came thru the lobby with a dog, and the woman waiting in line and I both pet the dog, and had a short nice conversation. Eventually I got the towel.
Another time I went in the morning, and there were three teenage girls. They initially saw me in the hall on the way down, and then in the pool. Two could care less, the other kept looking. They were all wearing rio back bikini's, but in all honesty I think my ass looked better than theirs.
A week ago I was there, using the jacuzzi in the morning. I had pulled the back up into a thong since the jacuzzi benches are a bit rough concrete, and I didn't want it to ruin my suit. So, it was in effect a thong. After a while totally forgot. Then got out, didn't have a towel with me, as I never bring one since they have them in the pool area. I always just walk in the little Rio suit everywhere on property. I then went down to the breakfast bar, and got some breakfast. While there I made a Belgium waffle, which took a few minutes just standing there. A maid went behind me, and enjoyed the view, and a woman at a table kept looking my way. I took my waffle, and yogurt back to the room, using the elevator, and waiting for it to come. People walked by, looked, smiled, and went on their way. When I got back to the room, I sat on the bed to talk to my wife, and then I felt the bed against my bare ass, and then realized I had been standing making the waffle and getting breakfast the whole time in a thong back. Also, the maid saw me as I was walking back down the hall to my room, and she looked back and smiled. I just smiled back, and continued to my room. I don't normally try to thong, but rather have a Rio back, especially since it is the Midwest, but this time I did, and it was quite exhilarating. I wear thongs in my back yard, to some beaches, and always to Blind Creek when I am there. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:09/05/2022 12:18:48Copy HTML Just stayed in a 'hotel' in Whistler, BC that is more a condo block than a hotel - at least in summer season, as there seemed to be no staff and there’s a mix of residents and AirBnB guests staying there - but decided to make use of the small pool that was there to swim some short laps and catch some sun.
I was there with my wife and two kids and as able to use the pool freely in a thong. Admittedly we were the only ones using the pool at first (which gave me the confidence to strip straight down to my thong), but I didn’t feel any awkwardness or need to cover as other users came.
As we were leaving, one lady and her husband came out and the lady claimed the sun lounger right next to where I’d been sunning, which my son had just vacated. She asked him if he’d had fun, then asked where we were visiting from, which led into a much longer conversation. My son and daughter headed inside to change and find my wife, who had already gone inside, but I stood there in my thong with my belongings in hand having a very relaxed conversation without my thong even being an issue. It was a great experience, and made me feel very comfortable to be able to wear a thong without having to have any concerns. Made me wonder what I’ve been worried about all this time! |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:10/22/2022 04:30:30Copy HTML I was at the Marriott Schaumburg (Western Suburb outside Chicago, IL). Went in my Stained Glass Rio suit both that evening, and the next morning. Passed multiple people in the hall, elevators and at the pool, and just received smiles. Then back in the room, just before getting ready for a shower, I decided to fill the cooler with ice. I thought, why not go in the Rio. So, I walked out, and down the hall. The maid was in a room, so she didn't see me then. Got the ice, and walked back down the hall, past the maid, who was now out in the hall, and then several rooms further to my room. As I was walking down, there was a couple (Man & Woman). The guy wouldn't even make eye contact with me. His girl however just could not take her eyes off my crotch, and had the biggest smile. Additionally, the maid just stared at my crotch as I approached, and then as I went by kept looking. I got to my room, stopped, looked back at her, and asked her if she liked the view. She stammered, and blushed, and ran into the room. So, took the shower, packed, and got ready. Then my wife and I walked out of the room. At this point, the maid is in the room next to us, and as I come out, she runs out into the hall as she hears the door open. She then sees me fully dressed, and you could see she was disapointed. While the suit is a Rio back, it looks like stained glass, and has a large pouch in front which I comfortably fill out. Link for what it looks like, it is the half hip, large pouch: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803188233472.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.4df91802J0Ahbd&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt&_randl_shipto=US
I have several of these in different colours, and I love them, and get comments all the time from women. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:02/11/2023 02:44:36Copy HTML I spent the week at a VA hotel this week and it has a decent size indoor pool. I was able to spend 20-25 minutes swimming each night after work. I didn’t have anyone in the pool and had it all to myself. While thongs are not legal in the state, I wore my thongs since it was private property.
I wore them last time I was there in October and no problem but again, I didn’t really see anyone else except for when I was getting out and a mother and her two kids were getting ready to get in.
I just show my confidence and act normal.
I will be frequenting this hotel for work travel and if there during summer time I am trying to gauge if I could lay outside in my thong to catch the sun right after work or should I opt for my 1/2 back suits. Last year at a different hotel in the area, I went with the 1/2 back. This is why I have been trying out different styles of “thongs” with different types/styles of rear coverage and not my traditional narrow t-back styles. I want the thong but like some women designs, they call it “cheeky”. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:02/11/2023 04:15:13Copy HTML I was in Denver and it was my dream come true. There was a hallway where the only elevator to the whole hotel was. At the end of the hall was a big glass door to the pool where you could not help but look when’s you hit the elevator button.
I asked the girl at the front desk if it was OK to wear a thong. She was a young Hispanic female. She said no problem. I proceeded to hang out there for the next 3 hours. Once when I went to the bathroom with no towel, just sandals and my Greg homme swim thong. I realized I left my room key inside the pool area so I had to come out to the lobby in just my thong and ask to be let in. I waited until
The lobby had people in it to do this. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:04/01/2023 11:39:30Copy HTML We had to overnight in Toronto on our way home from St Martin and stayed at the Sheraton Hotel right at the airport. There was time in the morning to enjoy the pool and hottub before our flight.
I wore a thong and my wife wore a cheeky bottom . We were the only one in the pool area, but there are large windows overlooking the parking lot for anyone looking to see.
The sign with the pool rules read, " Appropriate swim bottoms must be worn in the pool area". I thought that wording was interesting. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:06/14/2023 05:47:01Copy HTML I don’t have a good place near my apartment where I live to sunbathe in my g string. I found a great hotel pool in the area that allows g string sunning and swimming (I called and asked as a customer looking to book if I could sunbathe in a tiny g string, and got a “of course you can wear a g string in our pool”). So a number of times I have just gone and used the pool area, as it is not locked, to lay out in my tiny g string; not as a registered guest. I would like to ask permission and even pay a fee to use their pool with permission; however I am afraid they’ll tell me no and I’ll lose the opportunity to thong at a great venue. Of course I can always get caught and asked if I’m a registered guest. Then probably thrown out.
Anyone have any suggestions of what to do? Or not do? Have any of you done this before? |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:06/15/2023 02:59:45Copy HTML I would think this is a good idea, provided the hotel would officially allow you to be there. However, this could be tricky if you are not a registered guest and have not paid any money. I say this because any unpaid guests on the property would not be covered by the insurance policy, should anything happen. A few years ago, in the winter, I called a local hotel with an indoor swimming pool to see if I could take my children and their cousins to the pool, without being a guest, and they said no. The pool could only be used by guests of the hotel.
I like the idea because I live in very conservative Pennsylvania, where thongs are not permitted in state parks. It seems a hotel pool would allow for a bit more leniency because it is a private business that can set its own rules.
The way I see it, my only options are the following:
1) Private backyard (which I do not have). I am thinking about putting in a 6-foot privacy fence and possibly a hot tub, but both neighbors have two-story houses, very close to my house.
2) Find someone else in my area (or on this forum) that likes to wear thongs, that either has a private backyard, especially a pool in a private backyard. I know of a house in town where the older couple (he is deceased) are known nudists and they have a pool in the backyard. I would love to buy the house, should it come up for sale.
3) Rent a pool on Swimply (none in my area). Note: About a month ago, I did find a pool about 45 minutes away. When I inquired about the pool, I asked if thongs and g-strings were OK and they said yes. I then asked if the homeowner and/or family would be there while the pool was being rented and they said yes. Due to my questions, they may have thought I wanted to rent the pool for "other" reasons. I think I scared them off because the pool is no longer listed.
4) Travel to a nearby, more thong-friendly state. My problem with this is I don't want to have to drive 3 to 4 hours just to get about 3 hours of sun, on any given Saturday or Sunday.
5) Go to a nudist resort (I am an AANR member). Even these are 3 to 4 hours away and would take up the entire day. If I am going to drive 3-4 hours, I am going to make a weekend of it, but this would be expensive. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind making the occasional trip, but I can't do it all of the time.
Due to all of these "restrictions", I am almost inclined to ask some of my female friends (I am male) if they would be interested in wearing thongs. Then ask them if they have a private backyard or would know of anyone, with a private backyard, where we could do so. Having a pool is always a bonus. But because where I live, not many people have pools because it would only get used about 10 weeks a year, if that.
It is so frustrating to be so land locked in such a conservative state. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:06/15/2023 02:56:46Copy HTML Some hotels sell a "Day Pass" for people to use the pool and facilities without being overnight guests.
bonzo68, I suggest you should put in a hot tub and thong openly. You will probably find your fears are unfounded. After the first surprise your neighbors will probably just act normal when you are thonging in your own back yard. If your neighbors really don't like the view they will install a fence, at no cost to you. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:10/09/2023 02:21:50Copy HTML I stayed with two friends at the Fairfield Inn in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania this past Thursday night (10-5-23). He and she stayed in the room Friday morning while I went to the indoor pool to swim. I was alone the entire time in the pool area, but a woman on a treadmill was facing me in the adjacent fitness center. I took off my shorts when I got to the pool area and thonged and swam from 7:20 to 7:55 AM. The pool and fitness center are next to a main hallway on the first floor and there are some small windows where you can look into the pool area. Either no one saw me or felt the need to compliment or complain. I will thong there again. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:01/02/2024 12:14:01Copy HTML I went to Haulover beach over Xmas and then to Best Western Plus North Miami to swim. They have a nice pool and I swam underwater with googles, back and forth, in a thong. I got some sun, and also other people came to the pool. A mother and teenage daughter, 3 young teenagers, all joined me in the pool. Everyone was cool. Two girls at the second floor balcony came out to sit and look for 1 hour. I look kind of naked with so little on, but you can see my thong clearly in the still waters. Getting in and out is thrilling with people watching, more so since no one else was wearing skimpy swimwear. I would go back to this hotel, it's nice, near Bal Harbour. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:06/16/2024 11:55:53Copy HTML I spent a few days at a professional meeting in St. Louis. We were all in one of the major hotels downtown. While I was there I had plenty of open time to spend at the outdoor pool. I decided to to were my normal swimwear and see what would happen. Knowing tongs are not necessarily legal in St. Louis I was prepared to be asked to cover up or leave the pool. I walk into the pool area the first day and there are half a dozen women all in very cheering bikinis and two in thongs. I found a lounge chair next to an attractive woman with her buns exposed and let my buns soak in some sun as well. She smiled at me and then began a friendly conversation. Turns out she was at the same meeting later that day which I was attending and we had a nice chat then as well. During the afternoon I didn’t hide and walked the pool deck to grab towels and move my chair when the shadows moved. I did note a few people with big smiles as they watched me.
The next day I had morning sessions and an open afternoon. So, I head back to the pool again wearing a thong and have a great day. Now I have a couple more women speaking with me for the afternoon. They were also attending the same professional meeting as I. We all meet up later at the evening event and had a nice time.
My final day, after the morning meeting I head to the pool for a few hours of sun. In the pool is a woman I just saw in the morning meeting. She calls me over and we spend the afternoon talking. When it was time to get ready for the evening sessions I walked the pool deck to drop my towels before returning to pull on something to walk through the hotel with.
Everyone simply accepted that I was there. My thong was no big deal. It was never talked about later. I was never asked to cover up or leave. In all it was an enjoyable few days pool side. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:07/28/2024 09:06:57Copy HTML When I used to travel on business trips, I always wore a thong or G. People I met and co-workers never seemed to mind, and a few including men joined me if they had a thong to wear. I sometimes would bring Randy along for the trip, and he would live at the pools and wear as little as possible, and again, there were no complaints. The hotels want the conversion and meeting business and so don't seem to mind a little more skin exposure. They know that if people are accepted in minimal swimwear by others there for their meetings, that making a big fuss could cause the meeting to move someplace else the next time. Also, we have found that the more expensive the hotel and the more important people who go to them are, the more they seem to not find thongs and other minimal swimwear to be objectionable.
Your comments about St. Louis, like many places might be right. Thongs might be legal, but a hotel can make up their own rules to prevent their use. At the same time, even in an area where thongs are not permitted legally (like Indiana) many hotels will permit them since they are not on public property and especially if the pool is not visible from public areas like nearby roads or parking areas. So if I go to a hotel by myself,I will often try to find better hotels with pools on higher level areas like an upper floor or roof. If that is not possible, I will try to find places where pools are hidden behind walls or plantings so people in the public areas can not see what is going on in and around the pool.
The other thing is that since fashion trends and general acceptance of letting people do their own things are getting more popular, many times pool rules exist either from the past and never were changed, or are put in or kept in simply so the hotel can use the rule to stop people who are going too far. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:07/29/2024 05:18:08Copy HTML I recently had an experience at a luxury hotel in LA that sparked some thoughts about swimwear, confidence, and the unspoken rules of poolside attire.
I'm the kind of person who sees a g-string swimwear as just another swimsuit option. It's minimal, yes, but it's also comfortable and, in my opinion, pretty stylish. I happened to agree with a comment from "ithongit" who mentioned that high-end hotels don't usually bat an eye at g-strings. My recent trip confirmed this.
Lounging by the pool in my barely-there swimwear, I didn't feel any judgment or side-eye from the hotel staff. In fact, I ended up chatting with a group of women who were also rocking some pretty skimpy suits. We had a great conversation about travel, fashion, and life in general. It was a reminder that confidence is contagious, and when you're comfortable in your own skin (or swimwear!), it puts others at ease too.
Now, I know not everyone feels this way. I've heard from people who feel self-conscious or even unwelcome in certain environments when wearing minimal swimwear. To that, I say this: it all comes down to how you carry yourself. If you own your look and wear it with confidence, you're essentially treating your g-string like any other swimsuit.
Of course, there's always the chance that someone might have an issue with your choice of swimwear. But in my experience, those people are usually in the minority. And honestly, their opinions shouldn't dictate what you wear or how you feel about yourself.
So, next time you're packing for a high-end hotel getaway, don't shy away from your favorite g-string swimwear. Wear it with confidence, and remember that you have just as much right to enjoy the pool as anyone else. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:07/29/2024 11:10:33Copy HTML My lady friend and I went to Sandy Hook, New Jersey, USA for the July 4th weekend, primarily to go Gunnison Beach. (A first for her which she liked, many times for me.) We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Hazlet, New Jersey. We only used the pool once, she in a conservative one piece, me in a thong. The pool is in the center courtyard of the two-story rectangle of the rooms, so is easily seen. There was a Hispanic guy teaching his 3-year-old son to swim while we were there. Lady friend mostly floated, I mostly swam laps, guy taught son. Others gradually joined us. Then the rain came and chased us out. No one seemed to care about my thong. Our room was simple but good. Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:01/15/2025 03:04:50Copy HTML During a recent trip to Whistler, I had the chance to wear my g-string in a condo hot tub while relaxing with my wife. Interestingly, another couple joined us, and the woman was also wearing a g-string. The experience was a great reminder that confidence really is key when it comes to feeling comfortable in your own skin.
It got me thinking about how swimwear choices, especially minimal ones, often spark conversations about confidence and social norms. For me, a g-string is just another swimsuit—comfortable, stylish, and practical. I’ve noticed that in many high-end or laid-back spots, most people don’t pay much attention to what others are wearing. That was certainly the case in Whistler—no awkward stares, no side comments. Everyone was just there to unwind.
Moments like this reinforce that how you feel in what you’re wearing matters more than what anyone else might think. When you’re self-assured and relaxed, it shifts the entire vibe around you. Even in shared spaces, like a hot tub or poolside, your confidence can put others at ease.
Of course, not everyone feels comfortable in revealing swimwear, and that’s okay. Some might feel too exposed or worry about being judged. But in my experience, owning your choice and wearing it unapologetically makes all the difference. People pick up on that energy, and suddenly, what you’re wearing becomes a non-issue.
At the end of the day, the only opinion that should matter is your own. Whether it’s a luxury hotel, a condo hot tub, or your local pool, you have every right to enjoy yourself in the way that makes you feel good. So, pack that g-string if that’s your style—wear it proudly and embrace the freedom that comes with being completely at ease with yourself. |

When I was all done I went to the change room, stripped, had a shower and realized I had acquired a second towel at some point. Not bothered by being bare, I used one towel to cover up the front and walked bare bum back out to the pool area and over to the towel bin and placed the extra towel there.
I heard the cleaning staff behind me and when I turned around I saw she had been looking at my bum. I didn't mention anything about it, just started some small talk with her while I walked back to the men's change room. Stood in the door way a little longer until we were done, then turned around and went in, still bare bum. I felt quite comfortable in my own skin and she didn't seem put off by it. It's just skin and not like you can see much more when comparing naked bum to thong bum anyway. Didn't actually think anyone would see me (it was closing time) but didn't act embarrassed or freak out, so she didn't either. |

Re:Hotel Thonging Date Posted:10/29/2026 05:44:58Copy HTML I recently took a trip the the Atlanta GA area and stayed at a Hotel north of the city. It was almost the end of pool season but this day was warm and sunny. This hotel had a unique pool where half of it was indoors and the other half outdoors. Very small area with a few layout chairs. It was a Monday morning which is probably the quietest day of the week for the hotel and check out was at 11am, check in 3pm. So I figured I’d give it a shot to lay out in a thong while not many people were there. I waited till around 11am to head down to the pool. Cars were parked right by the fence and the room windows were right over the pool so there was no hiding. I had a very conservative blue thong on, nothing too small. Was hesitant at first since this isn’t the best thonging area but whatever. I dropped the shorts and laid out/swam for 3 hours. In and out of the pool in just my thong. Nobody bothered me in fact one guy came out as I was in the pool and wanted to check the water. Said he might come out. He clearly saw I was in something other than shorts. There was also a cleaning lady vacuuming the gym right by the window my chair was. I was buns up for 45 min as she was there. She clearly saw what I was wearing. No word was said or any issues at all. Overall pretty uneventful which was nice. I do wish someone would have come out and joined me as I was there. For some reason the best thonging moments are when you are around someone in a thong and they are totally accepting of it and just minding their own business. |
